Today on The Spicy Apron you'll learn all about dehydrating bananas and how to make dehydrated banana chips crispy and banana chips healthy. I'll show you two different ways - banana chips in oven and banana chips in air fryer, particularly the CrispLid dehydrator! Dried banana chips are a quick and easy snack for you and your family!
FULL RECIPE:
Ingredients:
1-2 banans, sliced 1/8 in coins
1 tablespoon lemon juice mixed with 2 tablespoons water, optional
1 teaspoon olive or coconut oil
pinch of salt
Instructions:
CRISPLID:
1. Spray crisping tray with nonstick spray
2. Brush sliced bananas with lemon water (optional)
3. Place banana slices in crisping tray, brush with oil, and place tray on top of tall trivet inside a 6 or 8 quart pressure cooker (do not plug in the pressure cooker.)
4. Place CrispLid on top and plug CrispLid in. Set temperature to 155 degrees for 6 hours. Press start.
5. Half way through the cooking process, remove lid and carefully turn chips over with tongs. Replace lid and cook the rest of the time. This is an OPTIONAL step. It will produce more even cooking results, but the banana chips are still delicious if you skip it. Your choice! :)
5. When cooking time is done, remove lid. Take chips out with tongs and set them on parchment paper. Let cool then enjoy!
IN OVEN:
1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
2. Place a cooking rack on top of a baking sheet and spray with oil.
3. Brush sliced bananas with lemon water (optional)
4. Place bananas on cooking rack and brush with oil.
5. Put in the oven for 6 hours.
6. Remove from oven and place chips on parchment paper to cool. Enjoy!

Looks really yummy...
I liked this video just as soon as it started.
😱 so easy! I love it
Yep! Super easy. Do you have a CrispLid or do you think you'll be using your oven?
Yum! I need to get a CrispLid!
Definitely get the dehydrator one!
thank you hillary
Lol 😂

Lmao
She glows
I got my crisp lid in May. It was a birthday gift and I love it. I would like to see more recipes please.
I'll definitely add more recipes. Any type of recipe in particular?
All types would be great.
Trying them today! Can’t wait! How long do the chips keep if doing multiple bananas?
The reason the Store bought ones taste better and more crisp, is they deep fry them after dehydrating them.
Thanks, will try that
Once a steak fell out of my fridge and bruised my toenail. A few days later it fell off and everything that touched my sensitive un nailed toe hurt. I glued a fake nail on to protect it. Nobody cares. I came here to learn how to make banana chips!
Sorry
Ya
I absolutely love this recipe out of all the ones that I viewed this was the easiest and I also did it with frozen bananas 🍌💕
Please more recipes with CrispLid
Will do!
Very useful video. To keep them packed for a couple months will a ziplock bag be fine or vacuum pack these? So they stay crispy and crunchy?
love your hairstyle, have you ever made a video on how you style your hair?
Thank you so much! No I haven't done that video (but several people have asked... lol!) I appreciate the comment! :)
I would like to see more recipes with the crisp lid also. I have one but I have the first model and it does not dehydrate. But I do like using it. Also the banana chips are good but they're still not like the original in the store which seem to have more of a sweet taste to them and I don't know if you could add honey to sweeten it up or what you could do. Any suggestions?
6 hours! Holy smokes I was just gonna go make some quick! Thanks for the video tho ….
If you add a little bit of olive oil, they can be done in like 15 min 180 C
Thanks this is the comment I was looking for so I dont have to watch the whole video to say screw this lol
Just got my dehydrator today, i plan to do banana chips. I will put honey and dash of salt on them
Have you used the multiple stacking trays with a couple of layers of bananas?
Wow you look young.
I guess we are talking Fahrenheit? Adding 250 f would be useful. Cheers UK Celsius guy :) Great recepe
Does using the lemon juice matter if you want to dehydrate the bananas to make banana powder in the ending process?
I haven’t ordered the crisp lid yet and they are already on v2
Yes! Some great improvements with v2. It's actually been out of stock because it sold so quickly, but it's back in stock now. >Yay!
What do you do with the banana peels after you dehydrate them do you eat them somehow
Would this be the same time for the instant pot dehydrator? There’s not much out there for the instant pot
I've never used the IP dehydrdator, so I can't really answer that. But it's probably a good place to start. Then if you need more time, you can always add.
You are absolutely GORGEOUS for your age.👍 Just thought i had to say that. ☺
Haha! Well... not exactly the comment I expected, but thanks! :)
For any age.
Why not use the stacked dehydrator trays and do 5 layers all at once. I do this all the time using my IP dehydrator function when I do tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeños, etc.
I don't know about all the oil and salt stuff. Me and the dogs are kinda fond of them straight up and crunchy. Try some pineapple if you like pineapple. Much like gummy bears only 1000 times better.
I like the idea of pineapple! Thanks for the suggestion!
she.s soooo beautiful ...sorry...the video is amazing and easy so thank you for that but...soooooo beautiful..
What a classy beautiful lady , love your recipes
What a sweet thing to say. Thank you! :)
can I but unter the sun
is it best to spend an extra 45 dollars on my electric bill for one dehydrated bannana, or go to the store and spend 5 bucks ?
One eighth of an inch = one third of a centimeter
Ninja foodie dehydrate in 10 mi ns flipping halfway
6 hours is crazy tbh
how so? you can easily do 2 batches a day hell maybe even 3
U can just do 8 hours overnight
Wtf is a crisplid
NEVER USE OIL IN A HYDRATOR!!. Think about it. You will regret it.
You are very beautiful
So much filler talking, waste of time
Do you really need to talk that much?
I had to watch the video twice, please wear a shirt next video.
Me too, I couldn't watch elsewhere than her fantastic body under that amazing dress! I'd let her wear that though!
