  • *** Please refer to the TIP at the bottom of the expected questions.
I will show you how to make crispy and delicious banana chips like snacks.
It has a mild, sweet taste with a mild banana flavor.
It's a flavor that people of all ages can't dislike, so it's a great snack for the family.
*** Measurements are on a scale (g), rice spoon (Tbsp), and teaspoon (tsp) (not a measuring spoon)
    ✤ No-Oven Banana Chips
    - 3 Green bananas
    - 2g (1tsp) Turmeric powder (can be omitted)
    - 2g (1tsp) Salt
    - 32g (4Tbsp) Water
    ✤ Oven Banana Chips
    - 3 Green bananas
    - 1g (0.5tsp) Turmeric powder (can be omitted)
    - 1g (0.5tsp) Salt
    - 50g (5Tbsp) Cooking oil
    ✤ TIP
    - When the fried banana chips are soggy, bake them in an oven preheated to 160 degrees for 4 to 5 minutes.
The oil will drain out and it will be crispy.
    - Seal leftover chips and store refrigerated or frozen.
    - Turmeric powder is for yellow rather than flavor, so you can omit it.
    - You only need to add turmeric water once (1 tablespoon) when frying 3 times.
    - Deep-fried on low heat based on a small 18cm pot. (For larger pots, you can fry them over medium heat.)
    - When frying, add only enough bananas to spread one by one without overlapping. That will make it crispy.
    - Fried chips are more delicious than oven chips.

I'm from South India- Kerala district 😇This is one of our traditional snacks that everyone of us eats and are equally liked... It's fantastic.. One tip: to make it more good is that after peeling off the skin, just rub the banana with any harsh material to remove it's raw stain.. it will be much more crispy and awesome ☺️ Thank you for making this amazing snacks...

Hi, I am from Kerala, India. Banana Chips is kind of traditional food for us. Used both as a snack or as a munching with rice, banana chips tastes THE BEST when cooked in Coconut oil.
So the correct process followed can be slicing the raw banana into thin slices, keeping them soaked in water with turmeric for at least 30 mins or so.
Turmeric is not only for colour, but also for removing any germs or bacterias etc, plus, it kind of removes the black colour that the raw banana is supposed to catch if left out in the open. Then, take them out and drain off the water. Fry them crispy. After taking them out, pour the salty water on top of it. Mix them well.
P.S. wear a gloves to avoid your palms getting blackened if you are using hands to cut the raw bananas.

@@lovem7635 Hi. I'm not sure with the variety you have available to you. But unripe green bananas are best for this kind of recipe since they are firmer. From my experience making bananaque, with plantains will become soggy instead. So yellow banana are a no go for this recipe.

These banana chips are extremely famous in whole India, and especially in Kerala as it is a very healthy n light snack. Nowadays Indians r adding mayonnaise, cheese and butter to almost each and every thing but the original and authentic Indian food is totally hygienic n healthy comprising of all the flavours with an accurate measurement n balance of all the spices which makes it very tasty and healthy. I wish Indians start to recognise this fact that experimenting with different foods is good but maintaining the authenticity of the food with its hygiene and healthiness should also be considered like our ancestors did. Our hindu Rishi munis have stated very minute as well as major detail on each fruit and vegetables, spices, herbs and trees. They have stated how to use, when to use a particular edible item for living a healthy and happy lifestyle 🙂

In India ( Kerala chips) is so famous. We choose a special type of banana to make chips. Even the oil used to fry make bigg difference in taste. Thus we prefer coconut oil . "Ethakka" or "nenthra pazham" we prefer for chips.
We even make tapica, jackfruit chips too 😀
