The XLT has a steel wheel as a spare whereas the Sports & Wildtrak have alloy wheels as the spare. Me personally I think the Sports model (+$2.5K) is worth it for the extras you get. The touring pack is a must. I wish the matrix headlights were an option for the XLT & Sports. Series 2 should see this 👌
Webby could you do a detailed vid on the dash on the Windtrak, interested to see the different screens the driver can access. Great vids keep up the good work.

Hi Webby, Great clear and concise review. Two things: I am 1.89metres tall and both my daughters are 1.8metres tall. Can they comfortably sit behind me you think? The other is its a shame the side steps don't run all the way to the beginning of the rear wheel arches. Upsets the visuals for me...

I have a question which I think is a good one Webby! Is the interior lighting / map lights of the XLT / Wildtrak that horrible incandescent yellowy light or have Ford finally changed to interior LED’s? I’m interested in the Raptor but I imagine they’ll carry over to the raptor also?

@@WebbyOnCars I think the interior blows everything else away. Our new Frontier is still the same on the inside. I don't like that different markets are treated so differently. Usually where the same vehicle costs more you get less
@@WebbyOnCars I am quite concerned that most of the SUVs I see don’t have AWD / 4WD, especially the B-SUVs (things like the Ford Puma, Renault Captur, SEAT Arona and Volkswagen T-Cross). The T-Roc is offered with AWD but I rarely see one. I guess most people buy the little bitty 1.5 4cyl turbo. I wish car manufacturers added AWD options to their B-SUVs and C-SUVs too.
Certainly did. Didnt complicate stuff. Very useful. Dont want to be pushed nto fancy kits. Simpler the better for me. Got a dreadful back and need comfort and space. Thankyou. Regards. Leo

I’m a first time ranger (anything not sedan) buyer, I’m a mum to 2 little boys and want a car that will grow with us. Camping, sports, moving houses that kind of thing. Not a solid off road kind of girl. Will the 4x2 base xlt do for me do you think? Or is the $10k difference really worth it to get the 4x4 version?

I took a 2l ranger for a test drive a couple weeks ago, and the dealer said the super cab would be available around November, but when I took the V6 for a test drive a couple of days ago, he was saying the only time frame he could give would be sometime next year. Don't know if you've heard any different.

Better yet it would be great if Ford allowed recording from the already onboard integrated cameras it has. Also does Forscan work with the new rangers? To adjust the tyre diameter to make speedo read like factory and odometer read accurately and also make the transmission shift like stock again when running 33s or 35s.. Forscan is free coding software that adjust parameters in all on-board computers that the Australian ford dealships doesnt have access to. Very popular on the ford forums.

but i drove a sport V6 about 2 weeks ago and they are bloody awesome machines as me and the wife want one to tow our 24 FT jayco caravan around the country soon i think it will do the job nicely

Look, ford had 2 huge problems, The transmission and the engine. The transmission sucks. It's gonna crap out on you. They're always in the shop because of it. The engine depends on the quality of Diesel you get. If you get thick, sulfur rich diesel, you'll have to dilute it. Otherwise it's got about 5 years before the headache really starts. Outside of these 2 items, it's the best driving, feeling, performing, most comfortable pickup in it's range. They really need to fix that tranny though.

Would you recommend a 4x2 bi turbo for someone who does not go off roading and use for work and daily drive or would you recommend 4x4 regardless
@JRtheBoy A 4x2 sounds like it would be fine for how you use it. If you're going to tow anything I'd go for the 4x4 though

With camping us part of your routine. 4x4 will be worth it because you may need 4x4 on some slippery grass hills in the wet.
@Zoe Day The 4x4 would possibly be a better choice especially if your camping takes you off-road. It will also give you better resale value too
