Used the big one to demo an old deck this last summer. It saved hours versus a typical pry bar when we pulled deck boards up. It was a life saver.

Thank you for the vid, I wasn't sure how they were adjusted as I only see them on online stores. Doing a lot of demo lately and I've now decided to go and get one.

Seems easier than my current strategy which is to have lots of pry bars and figure out which one will work. Will sometimes use 2 or 3 on one project.
Searching for them at Home Despot, I spotted a Crescent Indexing Pry Bar *Hammer*. I am not convinced it's useful but it's so tempting.

Crescent is owned by Apex Tool Group (Gearwrench, Sata).

I have the longer one with the chisel tip on the other end. I had to rip up boards that were nailed to the floor with a ramset. The head became a little bit floppy but I’m amazed at how strong that indexing joint it.

    First!
I recently passed on what Harbor Freight was offering. Watching this made me glad I did, this looks like a better deal on indexing prybars. Cheers!

There is no better prybar than that 18" Crescent. It is thin enough for deliquiate work, but tough enough to get beaten by a hammer, at any angle.

I have that one! It's really good at allowing me to find the best way to lever something and the back of the claw is perfect for striking with a hammer.

They look great, I would however prefer a Hultafors. I’d take the standard crowbar end over the handle any day. For me versatility beats comfort grip in this case. Don’t own one, but I have held one several times at the hardware store. I just can’t justify buying one since I already have several non indexing Hultafors, crow- pry- and wonderbars. But they sure are nice. Every time I watch Scott Brown Carpentry using one, I get a bad case of toolenvytitis 😂

    Almost Hultafors😁

This video got me thinking… Why isn’t there a halligan tool with interchangeable heads? Axe and hammer on one head, pike and nail puller on the other. Lightweight titanium handle like an oversized Martinez, and steel head pieces. Seems obvious for breachers, and firefighters but I’ve never heard of anything that fits the bill.

Halligans are steeped in tradition so I imagine deviating far from the original design would give it a different name, and thus be harder to market. I have a shorter then normal Halligan for vehicle carry, and even that is pushing the limits of calling it a Halligan, rather than something that sort of looks like a Halligan. czcams.com/video/Rh9Th5Gt9dw/video.html

I got that crescent one ended version, handy tool, the hultafors version is probably the best quality
