Which is very interesting for a number of reasons, particularly that Janice remarked during the first episode of Season 6 while she was sitting by the lake with Carmella that she was like her father and Tony was like their mother. Both Janice and Tony bekieve that they're different from their mother and view themselves as being their father's children when, in reality, they're both a lot like Livia.

Observations that my son and I have noticed while watching the whole series again together. 1. The title of the episode is always said verbally somewhere in the show. 2. Whenever EGGS appear on the show .. it is proceeded about a minute later with tragedy. 3. Did anyone else think that the wooded, foresty area where Adriana got killed by Sil would later be revealed as the SAME area where Carm was building her spec house? My imagination could see them breaking ground on a completely new re-build and Adie's skull falling from the bulldozer's scoop ... 4. Anthony never struck me as varsity material.

ya, i thought that too about number 3 when i first watched the show. But i kind of like that about about the Sopranos. Not everything is a crazy coincidence and everything doesn't have to tie together and fit perfectly. It gives it a more realistic feel. In real life something like that would almost never happen but in movies/tv shows, its so common that we both (and others, i've heard ppl talk about it before) expected it.

We should talk about the Sopranos swimming pool.
The ducks it was home to, which gave Tony joy.
When Tony and Carm about to make up, they get it together in the pool.
When she renegs, Carm has the pool drained.
Patsy Parisi pisses in the pool as the only form of revenge he can bring himself to get for his brothers killing.
AJ's suicide attempt. Followed by Tony once again draining the pool (he tells Janice it's because of the cost, but this was immediately after AJ's attempt)
When Tony is recovering from his gunshot and he's sitting by the pool and the heating system sounds unhealthy, Tony looks at it and beats it and it dies (I think) Kevin Finnerty sold bad heating systems)
Tony Uncle Al - Carmela lets cousin Tony bring his kids to use the pool, his kids destroy property in the pool and generally make a mess of things - much like Tony B causes a big mess for Tony S
When Janice first shows up, she and Tony smoke by the pool and dip their feet. Janice 'cons' Tony for some money to get Lyvia's car up fixed up,, she takes the money and the camera cuts to the pool filter sucking debris from the bottom of the pool - Janice the vacuum

In the episode where Carmine Lupertazzi Sr has a stroke (or heart attack... I don't remember which). John is on the phone telling someone (I believe it's Carmine Jr) what happened he says that he's, "over at St Vincents". The hospital name in Portland, Oregon is St Vincents... Then when Eugene hit little Paulie in the face with the Snapple bottle, that was basically the end of it. No response at all from Paulie Walnuts. Eugene and Chrissie were made at the same time, so it’s not like Eugene had all this seniority over Chrissie or was more highly regarded in the family in any significant way. Granted, Paulie W. and Christopher had issues throughout the whole show, so maybe it just pissed Paulie off more when it involved Chrissie? Always wondered about that though. Any ideas?

Good point about the Vito scene. I was one of the ones that like the scene. I think that they really wanted to convey that sense of hopelessness that a dead-end job/life creates. I agree the narration is odd and jarring, and out of place, but I'm not sure there's a better way to get that idea across. Maybe a scene with him complaining to Johnny Cakes, but he was trying to put up a front as if he was totally happy and satisfied with the life he and Mr. Cakes were building together, when we know he actually truly missed "this thing". It would have also ruined the scene of Johnny Cakes waking up to find "Vince" gone, stuff gone, and a dry spot where his 'Lac was parked.

I would run down the list of all the things I had done, noticed the amount of people in the store pointing to it being close to lunch, told myself not to check my phone to save the moment, do some more tasks, telling myself that a lot of time must have passed by now, give myself a moment to finally check the time in order to get the pleasant surprise that it is almost lunch time and the day is already halfway done, and it would be like 10:15.

Another great upload, Kino! A few of my observations:
    - Thank goodness Chase didn't stick with the hyper-saturated, washed out look of the pilot. The visual style of the episodes literally gets darker from season to season, as a visual metaphor for Tony's soul
    - The notion of "moving to Reno" - Tony often bellyaches about what he would be doing if he gave up mob life. Sell patio furniture in Arizona? Funny enough, in his near death coma experience, he's a salesman living in Kingman, Arizona.
    - No observation, but "introduced the coffee pot to Beansie's face" made me lol. Incidentally, my favorite line in the series is: "Veal parmesan sandwich? Fuck you." The delivery is just so sinister, making a laughable line a legit threat. My second favorite line is from Furio: "Stupid-a facking game." The next would probably be Tony shouting "Conserve!" after giving Georgie yet another beatdown.
    - In the "Pine Barrons" episode, not only is the actor playing Bobby *holding* a dildo (off-camera) to make Gandolfini laugh, he's *wearing* a black strap on dildo.
    - On Paulie seeing the Virgin Mary in the Bada Bing, I choose to believe this really happened and wasn't just something Paulie made up. We see the visual from a third person perspective (high angle), and not through the viewpoint of Paulie's line of vision. Besides, why would Paulie lie to Tony about this experience, unless it was something profound? I personally love the supernatural elements of the show (ghosts, dream sequences, Tony' alternative reality Kevin Finnerty in the coma world, Christopher visiting Hell).
    - Finally, "the sacred and the propane" is such a killer malapropism. People misspeak and mix up words all the time in real life, and The Sopranos does such an excellent job of capturing this, and playing it for laughs.

@@lpr5269 I lied- there’s a flashback scene from season 3 ep 10 where a young Christopher is wearing a hat. The scene where Big Pussy is dressed as Santa Claus and Chris gives him an ashtray.

I always wondered why It was that when Christopher roughed up little Paulie and threw him out the window, Paulie Walnuts took great offense to it and drove all over Chrissie’s yard totally trashing the landscaping. Any ideas?

I wonder if Eugene was known to be more violent and would fight back hard if Paulie retaliated. But everyone knew Chris was kind of door mat and Paulie knew nothing would be done.

I think Paulie probably knew better than to fuck with Eugene. Guy seemed like he had a rep for being a hardened killer.

I think he knows that for close relationship between Tony and Chris would give him major leeway considering his own close relationship with Tony. Eugene might just retaliate financially or physically.

The Springsteen connection creates one of those "same universe" questions that always puzzle me. Does Silvio have a doppelgänger in the E Street Band, or does the E Street Band have a different lead guitarist?

The bakery guy that Chris shoots in the foot.. back when Vito is called “Gino” lol... is the same actor that plays Agent Knox in Boardwalk Empire. Took me forever personally to notice that. He did an amazing job as Agent Knox in Boardwalk. Great actor. Seems like getting shot in the foot in a mob movie or show is a good luck charm for actors careers.

Here's something u all missed. Paulie's real position in everything. Blue Comet told it all. From him arguing with Bobby to Sil and Tony gettin hit. Also. Paulie was the main one talkin bout John's wife in satriales way before ralph. He actually walked up on them when they played it off.
