This album charted at number 2 on the UK charts and number 54 on the US charts, the album also charted very high in a lot of charts in other states, i can't understand the negative critics related to this album, a lot of artists would kill to have an album so high in the charts, this is not the best album by the band but also not a bad album either, it's a nice and decent album, this album deserves more love!!!
I only knew about the Gabriel era and the Collins era, but NEVER about the Wilson era. I really like the Wilson era songs, not gonna lie!

Unfortunately this album sank in the box-office like a ship in the sea, a real shame when we know the masterpiece it is.
with out a doubt this is one of the best songs ever released by Gensis and I can honestly admit that even though I I am a massive from Genesis to Revelation 1969 fan
Change is the only constant in life, embrace it. This album may not be your or mine concept of the Genesis of yesteryear, it is still Genesis. Play the album in another 10 years and it will be Genesis. Good song

IMHO the only reason why Callings all Stations is so underrated is because it had the name "Genesis" on its cover. If Banks and Rutherford would have come up with a new project, I think the result would be different. I even dare to say they would have made three or four more albums. The line up was good and the sound was good. Not only the problem is that people keeps stupidly comparing Wilson to Collins and Gabriel (what's the point of comparing? It's not like, as soon as a new singer arrives, the previous albums of the band are erased from Earth), but also that a lot of people was still waiting to hear something like Selling England. What a lot of people didn't understand is that the 70s ended, CAS was released in the 90s, the band had the right to try something new.

like it or not, but it is the style and sound typically Genesis. Love it.
CAS was one Genesis's best albums.Wilson was and is an outstanding songwriter and singer.I believe he wrote this one and not about us on this album.Highly talented guy and shame on Rutherford for not having the balls to do another with Ray.Ray must have been well pissed off by the bad treatment.Brings back memories of the Hackett treatment.
No, Banks & Rutherford wrote this one alone. Classic pop-Genesis composition & lyrics.

I don't care what anyone says, Ray Wilson was a fine vocalist, problem with the album was the songs weren't up to scratch, NOT Wilsons fault. He was made the scapegoat for the album bombing and that's sad

The best??!! So "Foxtrot", "Selling England by the Pound", "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway", "Nursery Cryme", "A trick of the tail", "Duke" or "Abacab" are what??!!! Take it easy...it's a poor album but ok not horrible. But sure is the worse from Genesis, only matches with "From Genesis To Revelation"
You won't find many people with a functionable pair of ears who agree with you there... including me! :D

Genesis é uma das minhas bandas favoritas! :) Já lá 16 anos desde que saiu o último álbum. Nunca foi declarado um fim oficial, ainda houve uma tourné com o Phill Collins, em 2007, mas não gravaram nenhum álbum! :( Espero que um dia regressem! :)

Es verdad que si no se hubiera llamado Genesis la banda con Wilson otra habría sido la historia y estaríamos seguramente hablando de un álbum con mucho éxito.

I like to think that if Solsbury Hill is about Peter Gabriel leaving the band, this song was written by Tony and Mike about Phil leaving.
Tengo todos los álbumes de génesis y este en particular me encanta. Es mucho mejor los últimos dos o tres con collins.
@@andarporbuenosaires La boca llena de razón, ya que lo querían comparar con Gabriel, y a mi perspectiva este álbum suena diferente e innovador para ser de Genesis, es más, ni parece Genesis más que por el nombre, si hubieran cambiado el nombre al grupo el resultado hubiera sido tal vez un poco + favorable a lo que fue, eso si Genesis me gusta con los 3 vocalistas, pero Collins les dio fama internacional

Producido en 1997 el ultimo disco grabado en estudio de Genesis. Con el vocalista Ray Wilson. Impecable, otra voz. Hubo discos increibles de Genesis para mi como "Selling England..." o "The lamb...," a trick of the tail" " Duke". Pasando por Peter Gabriel a Phill Collins. Pero en este album Callin all stations, la eleccion de Ray fue muy acertada. Para mi es otro disco clasico de la banda. Y que aun lo sigo escuchando. Saludos

Este álbum tá muito fixe! :) esta música foi muito bem escolhida para single! :) A voz do Ray Wilson tem semelhanças com a do vocalista de Mike & the Mechanics. Pena não ter feito mais nenhum álbum com os Genesis, pois músicas como esta, "Congo" ou "Calling All Stations" são de grande nível. Para além disso, Ray Wison é um excelente performer ao vivo. Vi-o num show acústico no Maxime com um colega dos Stilskin e foi excelente! :) E ele é muito simpático e simples. :)

Abacab was utter crap. I gave up Genesis music with A trick of the Tail (which I didn't like). Last good record was The Lamb Lies .......
