  • My car was very quiet, especially when I pressed the horn. Was there a problem with the fuse? The wiring? The horn itself? Follow along as I explain the procedure for discovering what components in the horn system are working and those that are not - and why.

      Thanks, Steve. Cardboard has many uses, eh. I'm so glad the horn is out of "Silent Mode."

    The 🎭🎨 artwork is simply MAGNIFICENT! Where was this explanation when I had my van! That horn was DOA😮

      The Artwork, I learned from you (no , not really but I thought you'd like to hear that). Horns can be troublesome when they enter silent mode!

      Thanks, Mike. I was worried the problem might be the clock spring down inside the steering wheel, but luckily, it wasn't. I appreciate you watching

      I'm really pleased that the repair was easy and didn't involve buying new parts. I like explaining things with drawings. Those images will stick with anyone who learns from them.

    That has to be the best explanation of a relay I could have ever seen! Anyone looking to learn how it works would know it here👍 Now back to your horn issue! I wonder if that snap plug could have perhaps been taken apart previously by someone doing some other "project" 😂
    Well done Craig✌

      Thanks. The drawing should help others, glad you liked it. Yes, some bumbling backyard mechanic doing repairs could very well have disconnected that plug. I'll have a talk with him!

    Awesome video Craig! Again a clear concise explanation of how a horn works and what you were doing as you were doing it. The cardboard diagram was especially useful. Great stuff Brother!

      Thanks, Doug. When I studied marine engineering mechanics in the Navy, we used visual learning aids all the time. We were required to draw out all the mechanical systems of the ship in detail, explaining how things work. These drawings (better than the rough sketch in this video) were turned in to supervisors for grading. They are powerful learning tools. Once you draw out a system, it sticks with you. I appreciate you watching and commenting!

    Them Baloney`s have been causing trouble in the car Craig, really good tracing the fault 👍

    • @EverydayProjects
      @EverydayProjects  Před 6 měsíci +1

      You're right, Nev! The small Baloney nest in vehicle wiring, often disconnecting plugs or causing shorts. It takes an experienced guy like you to spot the reason. Nice to see you here today!

    I just went through this, and it's the horn. Toyota dealership wanted $130 for one disk horn😅

      That's when I'll check the junkyards for a part. The "Stealerships" always charge way too much! Thanks for watching, Kenny.
