  • In this video I show you how to repair the Volvo V70 windshield trim issue. It's a common problem on the V70 MK2 P2 platform from 2000 to 2006, and also the S80 and S60 and XC70.
    It's a step by step video, I just recommend you to be patient and to take your time.
    You'll need to wait for the sealant to dry for about 8 hours, so regarding the weather in your place, you should add one night or one day for a good dry.
    I decided to make that repair and to find a good replacement part by myself after checked the price of the OEM moulding trim for volvo V70 windscreen. I saw 95$ by side, 280$ for a kit... No way, it's not my world at all for a 20 years and 1000€ valued car!
    I finally did my own new trim rubber moulding seal based on one I found on a classic car parts website. I did many tests before to find the best result I wanted, and I'm happy with that new windscreen trim look now. It's look new and original.
    The water can still flowing and running along the windshield and even it can get under the seal to flow on the rain gutter on each side of the windscreen.
    IT'S NOT DIFFICULT AT ALL TO DO, JUST SIMPLE STEPS TO FOLLOW STEP BY STEP !
    You'll find below all the links for what you'll need for this volvo windshield trim issue. Don't hesitate to ask me if you need more informations and details.
    If you decide to buy the rubber seals I make, I will send send you by post at the real cost, just provide a postal code and I will show you the shipping price to add to the part. You can buy it also directly in our small webstore:

    Thank you for this video, and for providing me with the seals from your website. I just completed this procedure on my S60. It is different because the trim piece is the length of the car, but very easy as well. Simply pop the front four clips shown in the video, and gently pop the next black clip off that is on the roof. Then flex the loose trim inwards, towards the middle of the windshield and it will give you plenty of space to clean and apply sealant. Preserve the black clip and replace the others, then continue as shown.

    Finished this job a few minutes ago. My hands are still black from the glue😅.
    First trim I did a total mess. Also cutted the rubber where you tell to stop applying glue. Anyway, proceded with the job until it was time to put the trim back in place. It really didn't want to slide on the clip. Black glue everywhere. I was in doubt to cry or to throw evrything in the garbage. At a certain point the clip under the rail popped off. This turned out to be good as to deal with it I had to lift the rail and OH GOD NOW THE JOB turned to be really simple. So, long story short: i suggest to lift the rail just a bit so you can push the trim on the underside clip and not slide it.

      Mama mia ! Hope you finally sorted out with the installation. Anyway it's cool to give us feedback as I don't know really what's going on with the other buyers. If you can send me a picture it would be nice.
      Grazie mille !

    Excellent video, just have a question regarding the procedure - why not firstly glue the rubber to the trim, and then install it on the car after the glue is dried?

    • @psv1600
      @psv1600  Před měsícem

      Thanks for your kind words 😍! I did because of the flexibility of the seal. As it’s stock rolled on itself, it’s still curving even when it’s cut to 1m, then potentially will unglue because of that. With this way I’m almost sure that it will glue flat and straight, especially by using a masking tape, who push the trim against the windscreen.
      Cheers

    Would this work on any P2 Volvo from 2000-2006? I have a 2004 Volvo s60r and am extremely curious to see if this would work for me.

      Yes I guess it’s works also your V70. You can send me a picture of your A pilar at anonang2@icloud.com
      I will check if it’s the same. I’m 95% sure anyway 😅. Cheers

    Al the way in the top, you are missing a piece? There is a gap.. Can you deliver these sealants longer to cover that?

    • @psv1600
      @psv1600  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes I can cut at the measure, I didn’t do as it was like that on my car. Thanks anyway, I will make an update to offer that

      I am thinking about doing the same. Al rubber sealents are dryed out. U shape rubber is a standaard 12x9 mm piece. Im from netherlands so i guess its better to buy it over here

    • @psv1600
      @psv1600  Před 8 měsíci

      @@martinus83 yes of course it’s better to buy directly. If it’s possible could you send me after the link of the shop, like that I will put in the description. Cheers
