This was a super helpful walk through. I had no idea how to remove the bumper. This was great.

Rich thank you for your video. I used it to preview what I needed to do to remove the beeping sound function from my 2022 odyssey. Pause the video at 2:08 and you can see the beeper sensor under the light. I was able to remove the bolts just under the tail light and pull the bumper back enough to get in there and disconnect it. No more annoying beeping sound!

Thank you for the extremely helpful video. I think I'm going to get the same hitch for my 2020 Odyssey.
May I make some safety recommendations:
please buy a work light made for rough service. There are inexpensive LED battery operated lights that have a hook and magnet so you can easily position the light to where you need it.
Wear closed-toe shoes when using a jigsaw close to your feet. Steel toe preferably.
Use jack stands to prop up the hitch receiver while you are bolting it

Nice job with the install. I like the clean (hidden) receiver tube look. I’ll probably install this on my 2019 as well. It seems likely the most tricky party is removing the bumper. Congrats for almost hitting 1k subscribers!

My friend had trouble getting the bolts in. They were really hard to turn. Eventually he snapped off one of the bolts, or he snapped the threaded nut in the frame, not sure which. The van was a few years old and the threaded holes were full of rust from road salt. So we took out the othe bolts and ran a tap into the threads to clean them. Then they went in perfectly, but he is still kinda screwed for that one bolt because there is no access to the inside of the frame even with the bumper off. So people if the bolts don’t go in easy, DON’T force them or you will create a real mess. That really goes for anything. There is nothing mechanics hate more than cleaning up other people’s botched work.

What is the name of this trailer hitch? Where did you buy it?

HONDA Oem tow hitch from the dealer.

Which Tow hitch is that? all the installation videos in etrailers leaves the hitch exposed. I like that you are able to hid it like the OEM ones.

    So much wrong.
    1) That’s not an exhaust manifold, it’s the tail pipe.
    2) You do NOT have to remove the bumper to install a hitch on Odyssey’s.

Thanks, in our case it was required, please see at 7:46 where we have to cut the opening anyway in the bumper. :)
