The later singers realized that you had to have other means and therefore came out with clothing lines, tv shows, etc. Actually she really didn't say anything new because even Berry Gordy had his artist doing tv shows and movies(i.e. - Mahogany, The Wiz, Lady Sings the Blues)

Autobiography, the biography of oneself narrated by oneself. 🤓
      Definition📚
Autobiographical works can take many forms, from the intimate writings made during life that were not necessarily intended for publication (including letters, diaries, journals, memoirs, and reminiscences) to a formal book-length autobiography.
Dawn saids her book she is writing is autobiographical…, there is a difference.. Kudos! to Dawn Robinson, a highly intelligent woman and no doubt knows the difference in an autobiography and her book that’s autobiographical ! 😉

Most 90’s record contracts were trash. Most were signed to a production deal who was then signed to a label. So it’s like an artist being signed to another artist and by the time that money trickles down you are literally left with pennies. In her case 2 cents per album.
