Sitting on this footage for TEN YEARS is so crazy, I’m not sure many people understand how hard that is to do. I’ve had the privilege of hearing you tell some of these stories in person over the years, but to finally be able to visualize them after a decade feels like I just had a weight of curiosity lifted off my shoulders.
Well edited John, so happy you finally did something with this footage!!!

This car is the reason I found you, I’ve always loved Corvairs, and Fiero’s obviously, and a corvair like this has always been a goal of mine. I somehow always forget the roof is chopped. 😂 Awesome story man and I love the Corvair.

That’s is one cool story , not just you building a timeless beauty but having the videos and pictures of it with your dad. That is priceless John. One day I’ll be done with my cabins in Ensenada Baja California Mexico and you will be invited over to experience the car scene in Baja with accommodations so you and your lady can experience the good ol Mexican ways.

Of all the cars that you have this one is by far my favorite. I love vehicles that in some way show what they have gone through to become what they are. I also very much appreciate cars that show a builders ingenuity and craftsmanship, many times in the raw, to incorporate personal touches or parts to make the car functional especially when witty. This car underwent major engineering feats but it the end looks quite simple. Love the interior and the 5 spoke wheels perfectly fit the car. Can't say enough of what I like about it. Congratulations and happy anniversary to you both.

This was such an informative video. I never knew you put that much work into the car. The relationship you have with your father is amazing, too. My father would simply say no to the idea of doing anything out of the ordinary. I actually found your channel after seeing a video of SoWo in 2014 from Krispy Media. This is such a sick build, and honestly my favorite. I couldn't stop staring at it when I first came across your channel. I love that you built this with your dad and that you both poured your heart and soul into it. My favorite moments were when he told you to make the cut into your roof and building the oven contraption to make the rear window. Super glad to finally see this video come to fruition!
It's cool to see it aired out without the roof chop too. It honestly looks killer both ways.

I've read stories that one of the reasons that GM cars had high rooflines is because the men of upper management tended to be very tall, and it was considered to be a faux pas if they couldn't sit inside a car slated for production. I can see why you struggled with deciding how much to cut, but I think going with two inches was the right choice. Those unfamiliar with the Corvair might not even notice it, and those that are might take awhile to realize the top has been chopped. As I age I've come to the conclusion that going wild has it's place, but I've come to appreciate subtly modifications. Though I have to admit, I'd prefer to see a nice shiny black paint job on your Corvair. Design wise Corvairs were always ignored, but in retrospect they really are a very beautiful design. Clean, simply, classic.

Great video thanks inspires me back in 1975 about a 66 Corvair it was really nice shape the motor didn't run but the body was gorgeous I painted it dark navy blue and then my brain started going and a 375 horsepower 327 Chevy yep I jammed it in the Corvair I reinforce the frame made some tubing well did it in bolted up to the transaxle the front of the valve cover was even with my elbow when I sat in the driver's seat it things screamed it was a death trap but it was fun I never built a cover for the engine it's just dangerous but I didn't care I was a kid what did I know I knew how to fabricate and do stuff but safety wasn't a priority I had the car four or five years drove it everywhere and then I had to sell it I wanted a Camaro but it was fun I love corvairis they're super cool yours is wonderful thanks for the video
