10 Bit video is quickly becoming the new norm with increased camera specs like Sony a7Siii 10 bit video, Canon R5 10 bit video, and Panasonic GH5 10 bit video; but the question is do you need 10 bit video. Understanding 10 bit vs 8 bit video is necessary to be able to answer the question does bit depth matter. Bit depth video specs of 8 bit vs 10 bit video will change how many color options you have in your image. When asking what is bit depth, some of the other terms you may come across are color depth, 10 bit resolution, 10 bit recording, and 10 bit color. The bit depth, or color depth, of some cameras like the Sony a7iii bit depth have 8-bit internal recording, but can output 10-bit 4K video when used with an external recorder. I hope this Camber Motion tutorial showed that whether you are using Canon 10 bit video or Sony 10 bit video, you’ll find that using 10 bit rather than 8 bit video will provide you with much better bit depth and color sampling for your videos resulting in much greater color grading ability in post.

I've got to tell you, thank you very much. You make things easier to understand but to be honest the thing that I like the most is that you go straight to the point. It may seem like a rant, and it is, but I cannot watch any video about photography or videomaking anymore because they all follow the same pattern, upbeat copyright free music on a frenetic montage of basically nothing, followed by the "oh hi, I didn't notice you" vibe in the communication, sipping coffee, alternating with flexy images of doing basical day thing like it's an epic journey.
