The Fiat 500. A car designed to be small, economical, and most importantly affordable to low income Italians. It became a unique Italian iconic everyman/woman car. Like the VW Beetle.
Fast forward to 2024, we get the antithesis of their original ideas. A middle finger to its origins.
Well, it is still small and economical. As the old Meatloaf song goes, two out of three ain't bad. For that price though, it should have cracked the 200 mile range at a minimum. With the federal incentive (assuming it qualifies) it will be under $30,000 which makes it a more tempting offer. Might be too little, too late though.
This should be priced at 15k that price is ridiculous
Rather get a Tesla or a Bolt EV
even 25k can be acceptable. the current price point is just outrageous.
Good luck trying to get any car for 15K brand-new, let alone an electric.
If it was 20k I would consider a good buy but not at 34k
$34k?! DOA
that car was blushing the whole time, while also staying in red.
far too expensive
Bring back the Abarth 😢😢😢
32,500. Spend 3000 more and you can get a Tesla with much longer range and seats in the back.
There are used model 3 tesla on their website with decent milage for $23-25k. Imma go with a tesla
You buy the Fiat 500e if you want style over range and practicality. You get a Tesla if you have no style and want a bland appliance on wheels with terrible quality issues.
But you’d need a tesla supercharger to match the half an hr 80% charge. This is pretty practical
We have these around here in Amsterdam and I've driven a couple and they're quite fun around town. An easy to drive car around Amsterdam, which isn't usually the case for many cars.
This would have to be $20-25k to be worth it with those specs. Nobody should buy this except MAYBE someone having to park in a city downtown all the time or a diehard Fiat fan
Italian cars are known for their electrical system excellence.
I have an Ebike with a 750 W motor that peaks at 1100 W what’s the wattage of the car and peak watt?
😮😮 oh what a perfect price going to get crazy mass adoption with that price cough cough.
this might be the most reliable, since has less thinks that can go wrong. Italian quality
This little EV makes no sense at this price point when you can get a Nissan Leaf or Chevy Bolt for many thousands less. At $25k it would make a lot of sense. But at $35k+ you're getting close to Tesla prices.
Check again. Bolt no longer in production. Leaf has a air cooled battery.
25000 max price would be a good target 🎯
Maybe 15k...
I just saw a post for this and came to see a review. But the saddest part of this is the price. It’s not worth it. In 2014 I bought a 2013 (new) 500t. Leather heated seats. With trade in (~2k) and dealer discounts I got it NEW for 15k. 15k!! As a city driver I still own this car. Miles. 49k. That’s right. I always wanted to get an electric. But a car like this should be no more than 25k and to be honest more like 20k. It’s so hard to buy a new car when I got mine new fiat for 15k and it only has 49k miles. Oh well. I’ll drive my 500 turbo for the rest of my life.
For the US, Fiat should've made a pick-up version
As an avid cyclist, I can hear the tires on an EV just as well as I can hear a combustion engine car. They are nowhere near "silent" enough to warrant "warning sounds"...
You can hear the tires on and EV in a parking lot?
@@glennmarcucio4112 Um, you aren't riding your bike in a parking lot...
WOW electric vehicles are becoming more common now these days
Great car if it was $15k .....but for $37,500 .... This is a big fail , whoever recommended FIAT to sell this car in the USA will get fired
Expensive yes but just look at this beauty!
affordable??? 😂😂
All EVs come with the federal $7500 credit (states credits apply) when leased. That makes the $37500 MSRP a flat $30K. The range is ideal for city/regional travel as long as its driven at less than 100 mph which seems tough for so many US drivers. Bona fortuna America! Ciao.
Is the convertible coming to the US? 8)
Adding this to my list of things I want in life.
wow some people really doing good thing right there sir
Bloody looks like lightning McQueen 😂
Fiat saw the Mazda MX30 and figured "let's make it worse"
I might consider it if it were a hybrid vehicle with greater range. The back seat is for kids only. For adults it's it really a 2-seat car. I live in a big city and there is no place to recharge it.
500e oli kuudenneksi myydyin sähköauto Euroopassa vuonna 2023.
Voi olla kallis mutta varmaan laadukas.
The predecessor was a good car problem was engine was unreliable. Now the new one is way better problem again is its expensive and range is so low you would rather commute. Fiat really knows how to make a car that is undesirable 🤣
That music playing from the outsidenof the car is pretty fruity
you can get a far better looking interior from chinese evs at much lower prices… you are essentially paying premium for the iconic fiat 500 heritage
They couslnt sell the 500 at 24k....so lets give it all the limitations of EV and price it up 10K,,,,yea that will work. I anticipate these going on massive fire sales like the leafs did.
What a joke. A notoriously unreliable POS car that gets 160 miles of range and costs as much as a Tesla. What is the reviewer smoking? It's not affordable at all. Dead on arrival, like all Fiat garbage
34K USD translates to about 27,00,000 INR… for someone who loves EV’s and knows the practicality of an EV, cost shouldn’t matter, but is it on the pricier side?. Not really, because it’s more like a second car, a “fashion accessory”, so, if u want “bling”, pay for it!!!..
Beauty, simplicity, practicality and reliability is what makes a FIAT stand out.. like many other global markets, v in India also had the FIAT 1100D produced here as the “premier Padmini” and my grandmother had it for ages and it outlived her lifespan also..
This is a very refre thing that this particular model is introduced as the EV version, and hoping that India too gets this model in EV.. sick and tired of seeing jeeps everywhere, compass, and other models.. this will be a refreshing change for us here…
This seems perfect for living in LA traffic.
All EV’s should have sound generators. It’s much safer for cyclists and pedestrians.
Yet, 99.99999% of bike/pedestrian crashes are cars that make sound. Any theories as to why? BTW, all EVs do make a pedestrian warning sound below 20 mph.
Love it
I am still waiting for the BYD - Seagull to hit the US market.
You can get a used BMW i3 with similar size but more space, 70% more horsepower, and better interior for half the price
That's ridiculous price you can get a Volvo ex 30 with a lot more range and more power for that price😂
AND according to every crash test thus far...a bonified death-trap.
22024 fiat?😂
Should be 20k$ or under
Love the car but NOT the price !
$34k is soooooo expensive. I could buy a few Abarth ❤
With that price, it will be discontinue soon.
34k + 50k per year of ownership 😂😂
🇮🇹
Fiat keeps messing up vehicle launches. Too expensive, low range, bad looks.
Bring the 500 abarth back.
Beautiful daily car. Too expensive for now.
Affordable....
You are better off with a bicycle.
Fix
It
Again
Tony
It’s really not worth the money
Looks like a clown car.
It's cute yea though. I'd drive this if more affordable
FIAT = Fix It Again Tony
should be priced at 5k tbh, nobody wants this trash
far overpriced I would stick with Toyota x especially for the famous Toyota reliability and a smart looking car
