on your criston/jaime comparison, jaime does actually mention criston in the books and kinda admires him in a sense that he’s remembered as doing both good and bad with the hopes he can somewhat be remembered for doing the same

Game of Thrones Season 2 actually did a similar “Pledge Your Allegiance”marketing campaign, you can still find them on CZcams, there were various House trailers for Stark, Targaryen, and Lannister and so on. So it’s actually quite appropriate that for HOTD Season 2, they did this again.

I’m with Spartan on this one. Both sides have terrible people though, the point (if you remember Shireen in GoT, saying it’s choosing sides in the first place that did what it did) is that this feud basically ended the Targaryens. I have an understanding of both sides, I’ll blame bad actions on the side that committed them lol

If this was real life I would unquestionably be team black, at least right now where we are in the story. But as a fan i'm also team green because I enjoy the green characters, even Otto who is always so entertaining to watch (big ups to the actor, he's incredible).

have you even read the book? you are more likely to be team green if you’ve seen the show since the greens are way worse in the books. the show watered them down compared to the books
Star Wars Episode I had a similar marketing campaign back in 1999, with a Sith trailer narrated by Darth Maul, and then the regular trailer focusing on the heroes. Those didn't launch simultaneously, though.
Hunger games had something similar as well. With propaganda-like trailers asking you to side with either the rebels or the capital.

Rt comes with to much baggage as an heir while Aegon faults are not publicly known and lets be honest Aegon will be doing what he and Rhaenyra was doing for the last 6 years lets Otto, Alicent, and the rest of the council do the work lol
I would still choose Aegon because he can be manipulated by his competent counselors. Rhaenryra had the chance to build alliances but instead had to rely on her father to protect her from all the mistakes SHE made.
I choose the side that will not destabilize the realm and that will respect the traditions and culture of westeros.....granted my choice would be Rhaenys over the horrible two choices of Aegon and Rhaenyra.

Exactly. It's kinda funny seeing some be so die hard about choosing a side for the show, it's a fun way to interact & a great marketing strategy but people on the internet can take it way too far & too seriously.
Me, as a spectator, I'm all in team black. Because I know both perspectives and I'm a 2024 man, with concepts of sexism and democracy in mind. But if I was a character in Westeros, I'd probably be team green. They have the "first born male son of the former king" which is what their society consider legit.

The movie Marriage Story is the most recent film I can think of that released dueling trailers at the same time. One being focused on Scarlet Johansons character and the other focused on Adam Drivers
Good news also they start filming very soon for the other Prequel series that’s set some years after HOTD called A Knight of the 7 Kingdoms will release sometime next year which is great because that means we will have game of thrones series each and every year since HOTD season 3 won’t be out until 2026-27

Actually, rumor has it there is a third Trailer that is a collective of these 2 plus a couple of additional scenes.
Green Trailer clearly shows Aegon's Dragon Sunfyre and Helaena's Dragon Dreamfyre at the End..both look amazing.
The Team Black Trailer briefly shows Baela's Dragon Moondancer.
Add those Dragons to Vhagar, Synex, Caraxes, Meleys, Seasmoke and Jacaerys' Vermax..well need I say more...OMG
