What weapon do you think is OVERRATED? *Remember* this is just my opinion based on my experience with the game! ALL weapons can be good if built right!
For me I think the muramasa is very bad. The reason I say this is because I used the mad groove on mount moonspell and happened to get the night sword and stone mask so I ended up accidentally evolving it. On this particular run I almost lost because of it because it makes your health go down and the only reason I didn't lose is because I was playing miang moonspell.
@@alexwild8514 Yes it can definietely kill you if you don't use it with the right combonations, but if you do then its extremely powerful. But maybe as an all around weapon it shouldn't be in underrated.

I'd say La Borra is properly rated by Vampire Survivors veterans but underrated by newcomers. Most people who've played a lot know that it's amazing.
agreed, I kinda looked at this list as if I was talking to people just getting into the game/progressing through or starting the DLC. If you're a veteran then you probably know each weapons rating pretty well.
Santa Water is when you get it is the worst weapon. But for every level it gets so much better. and the upgrade is one if not the best AOE.

Pentagram is best taken as a candybox later on when you can get the instant evolution. Great for gold farming because it’ll boost Trouser’s level faster than anything and has infinite damage.
For sure! I use it with my gold farm for that very reason.
What is so funny to me with this kind of discussion is that VS is a game I barely glanced at and in fact passed by until I was desperate to play something that I just downloaded and started playing .
I was immediately underwhelmed by the graphics and the simple mechanics.
Within 5 minutes I was thinking there is more here than I had imagined and in 10 minutes I had to go on CZcams to see others comments because I was enjoying it so much.
One of the best games iv played ever and reminded me of seeing Pong for the first time. Simple yet huge potential.
Soul Eater and Unholy Vespers on their own are properly rated, but when used together are godlike. The knockback debuff from Soul Eater and the constant hits from Unholy Vespers knocking enemies away means only very few enemies in the game can even reach you.
Pair that with the super magic scroll and the arcana that leaves damaging zones and you're basically invincible.

Honestly, listening to you talk about the Gorgeous Moon, I think you're just not playing very strategically while leveling up the Pentagram. It is entirely possible to comfortably mitigate your losses if you know what you're doing, and for whatever you do lose in the leveling process the Gorgeous Moon *MORE* than makes up for it.
As a recovering Castlevania addict, I will always choose the Bible lol. A lot of my builds include protective/offensive gear around me because that's how I've always liked playing Castlevania. I almost always use a combination of Unholy Vespers, Soul Eater, Bloody Tear and more often than not La Borra for good measure. The other weapons I like using are the Holy Wand (sad to see it's hated so much lol), No Future and I do enjoy the Cimsom Shroud as well, but it's a bit of a pain to evolve so I've only ever used it a few times, especially against the reaper. The one time I used the Valkyrie Turner, I hated it because I hated the Shadow Pinion with a passion so I never used it again. The rest of the weapons are ok.
Same!! I saw the bible and fan girled a little, I just started playing but holy is this game charming. Lot of nostalgic stuff.

Pretty great ratings. I've been hooked on Vampire Survivors and Lone Tower since Christmas. Hard but very satisfying!
Keep in mind that the DPS sheet is very inaccurate. The game calculates overkill damage, so the big hitters look better than they are (La Robba)
If you want a better idea, you have to use one weapon because multiple weapons will compete for kills
How I avoid the pentagram problems is when I’m near the point I’m leveling up a lot (like if I picked up a ruby that gives me like ten levels) and I see the pentagram I try to cut my loses and get it
Very good video again Nuzzy. But i have to differ with on several items. Mannajja, great weapon once evolved by doing so requires you accept Skull O’Maniac. On the opposite side Valkyrie Turner. You get a decent side item the Wings. Valkyrie Turner is a great weapon, i always try to get it. No Future and Vandalier to me are mediocre weapons because they don't shoot where you want them to, not concentrated fire. Thousand Edge is def under rated. Its the best weapon of the 3 that fire directly where you want them to go. I agree with you with Gorgeous Moon. Its a great evolved weapon but getting it to that point sucks. A few of these weapons i haven't gotten yet, but of the new DLC ones Godai Shuffle is the best but very hard to get.
while vandavlier doesnt aim where you want, I often find it somehow does a ridiculous amount of damage, often being my highest DPS weapon

I'm a relatively newcomer, 1 or 2 months, but I always thought that holy water was good, it deals low damage but covers a lot of area, the damage is low per tick of damage but can block enemies from getting near you, and LA BORRA! was a weapon i was aiming to, huge area, mid tier damage and a lot of are coverage.
I agree with most of your assessments. The one that stood out though is Soul Eater which I find to be "greatly underrated" as many people's tier lists rank it very low (one even gave it its own tier of bad lol). If you use it in conjunction with the Clock Lancet and the Out of Bounds Arcana, it can be extremely effective as it lowers enemy resistance to freeze (including most bosses) thereby causing a lot of damage from explosions and creating a meat shield between you and the still active enemies.
It might not be the thing that gives you the win at the end but if you evolve it first you can basically speed run through the levels and plan for the perfect strategy. A lot of people dislike garlick and soul eater because they don't do that much damage but they fail to see that by taking garlic early you can make everything easier.
@@gpolenik Exactly; it has good utility value rather than raw damage; Night Sword from the DLC is the same way.
I am really glad you (and Nuzzy for that matter) like the Night Sword/Muramasa as well. I hated it at first because it seemed to do an underwhelming amount of DPS according to the status screen but that doesn't tell the whole story. This thing SHREDS single targets with high HP such as bosses (especially when combined with the Victory Sword) like nobody's business. Only thing that irks me is having to collect the Stone Mask to evolve it but not the end of the world. I just seal "Vicious Hunger" as I strongly prefer the cats AOE fights and how they collect items for you much more.
Yeah, garlic/soul is basically the best weapon early game, decent protective weapon mid game and brings a lot of utility mid game, while still being somewhat defensive.
Guns, Victory Sword and Fireworks are in a league of their own. Each of them are insane as one weapon with limit break.
With limit break and arcana all weapons can be super powerful.
Thunderloop feels overrated to me. It needs a bigger AOE effect to be useful past 23 minutes.
Yeah I was tempted to put it in overrated but it's on the cusp. I don't use it nearly as much as I did when first starting.
Thunder Loop is one of the best weapons in the game. You just need to hit that max projectile limit and scale AoE.

Start with guns, pick the card that boosts cooldown for empty weapon slots, evolve guns and max out empty tome, damage, area, etc., and death ray the entire screen (if you're playing without Reapers, you won't see enemies until about 40 minutes in).
I get where you were coming from by saying all weapons can be good, but this sort of just ends up being a tier list with more steps anyways, and is even more subjective!
That being said good insight on the weapons :)
I love chaining bloody tear, crimson cloak and the healing randomazo card. Crimson cloak caps damage at 10, bloody tear hits and heals 8 damage while the randomazo cards doubles that to 16. Taking empty tome in addition can make you truly unkillable.
Pentagram with Babbi-Ona and limit to max two weapons. Its doable. Tried it once on Capella Magna with Hyper and Inverse. Insane, it was. Just insane
for those who don't have English as my native language, it's much easier to understand if I put ratings like "S, A, B, C" and with the best at the top and the worst at the bottom, like a ranking excellent video, I subscribed to the channel
Yeah, it's literally impossible to have a right or wrong answer to "is it properly rated."
All I care about is their power level.
I don't play VS but when I so watch someone play it, i always hope they go for Vandalier. I just think it's cool.
Now I need to figure out what people say about these evolutions to be able to figure out some good builds.
Wow, I have only been playing 22 hours and this is a bit old now but...I am surprised by how much I agree with you. Literally the only disagreement I have is Vicious Hunger (I think it's properly rated, I've never seen anyone talk it up ever). If there is any criticism to be had, it's just that you seem to start strong with rating "overrated or underrated" but end up falling into some "good or bad" or maybe "enjoy vs not enjoy" by the middle. Still, I can't be mad at a list I agree with like 95% of perfectly.
how about the evolution for the victory sword?
pentagram only for the last weapon and u can lvl up for 9 picking up like a red charged gem, or if im playing with santa water i dont see the necessity to use pentagram
To me vicious hunger is like pentagram but worse because while the early game with pentagram can lose you a lot of exp you can also evolve it into gorgeous moon and recover at least some of it but vicious hunger just changes so much exp into gold and makes it near impossible to level up
On the other hand like the gorgeous moon Vicious Hunger gives you an insane amount of gold until it breaks your game.
Vicious Hunger is the worst evolution in the game. Does very low damage (way lower than Gatti Amari because there are no longer cat fights although at least it no longer saps your health from getting scratched) and it steals experience like mad (levelling up can net you a coin bag so I prefer that). Much better ways to gold farm than turning gems into coins.
@@JoeBee9 Nah, VH may not be that great outside of a short high quantity gold farm, but there’s no way VH is worse than the evolved magic wand, that thing literally just fires mass bolts which can be easily overrun on high curse. VH doesn’t suffer as much from that because they do solid damage and are frequent enough imo.

Heaven sword alone is meh but in Slash build it's good because its own has pretty good critical chance now enhanced by Slash and Clover is a must take buff in Slash build to increase the critical chance of your weapons so if I go for Slash build then there is no reason to not take the Heaven sword
Holy wand is useless as damage, BUT it's a great defensive item if you take jail of crystal and waltz of pearls.
A good strategy with Gorgeous Moon is to pair it with something like Phieraggi, Vandalier, or Fuwalafuwaloo.
This way you can fill up your weapons list and the pentagram won't show up when you're leveling up. Now level up everything saving your double weapons for last. When you evolve your double weapons suddenly now you'll be able to see new weapons again, and hopefully by this time everything else will be leveled up (or almost everything). Reroll until you get Pentagram and now every level up you'll be able to level it so you can speed through the early stages and rapidly get it ready to evolve.
I personally disagree with no future. It is constantly doing the least dps out of all the evolved weapons I use in almost every run.
It does good aoe damage and penetrates but is bad in the sense than it cant directly attack any specific mobs it just RNG bounces around so other weapons will generally be more useful imo
Its still good just not perfect because of the randomness
8:44 vicious hunger's use is for gold farming it really comes in clutch, you know about gold farming right?? Id say it's wellrated
Yes, I know its great for that but in terms of just trying to win/deal damage, especially attempting to limit break I didnt find it much fun.

I think No Future isn't rated lower because it's a bad weapon but because it requires you to take Armor.
Soul eater on its own is kind of mid. Not as much damage or healing as Bloody Tear and requires you to deliberately put yourself in danger to use it. It’s an excellent supporting weapon for a lot of evolutions, especially those similsr to Death spiral. You can easily hold off hordes even when they’re outscaling you dur to the increased knockback.
In my opinion la borra is overrated. I see everyone saying how good it is but it doesn't come close to competing with godai shuffle (the best weapon in the game bar none) or victory sword (second best). Maybe la borra is good early game but when other weapons become available it's not good

Pentagram is great! Like you said before with the 2 birds when you combine them it opens a weapon slot. Thus... pentagram is the very last item i pick up at the very end of my build. once everything else is in place i combine the birds or the whips and then grab the pentagram and xp isn't as precious at that point and after a level or 2 you seem to keep the gems more often than not.

I think the sword is kinda terrible, even scaling crit to max it doesn't compete with the dps of the top tier weapons
It’s legit dog water. It’s only strong because of Gains Boro’s passive +2% growth every 2 lvls
Soul eater + double evolve whip + muramasa = infinitely increasing damage
add festive winds and infinite corridor and u can pretty much kill the reaper in less than 20 seconds

True, in hindsight it's hard to gauge the "perception" of a weapon. Veterans, Beginners and others probably all have different opinions on weapons that changes, I know I did.
