  • CIty Council members in Snoqualmie have passed a law aimed at reducing harassment calls to the 911 dispatch center.
Ordinance 1290 was adopted on May 13. A city news release states it was done to “reduce the number of false requests for emergency services and the misuse of the 911 emergency response system, which can risk public safety and deplete City resources.”
City officials said the law was proposed because state law does not specifically address misuse of the 911 system.

So since when has harassment ever been legal in any sense of the word? Making valid laws too specific will just leave the door open for all "other" forms of harassment.

There are many videos on CZcams where so-called first amendment "auditors" ask their viewers to call flood police stations etc and I hope the police will get more serious about charging them and holding them accountable for their crimes

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Notice how he leads with “this is endangering officer safety”, and public safety was an afterthought? That’s indicative of the mentality
