I was wondering, have you ever taught tricks with Fen using a target luring? Teaching him to target a lid taped to the end of a dowel for a ball reward? If you haven't tried already, it might be a more rewarding way for him to experience luring.

Yes! I have done this in the past with him. I ended up ditching it and don't use it consistently because most of the time when I'm luring him, it is out and about when I don't have the target stick with me. He has actually come a long way in his luring abilities, and we are still working on it.
