      @@sherrcon What about that story sounds real to you? Where's the bite report? They are a matter of public record. Doctors are required by state law to report bite injuries (the girl said she had to go to the ER with "severe" injuries). It's been 4 years according to her. Wouldn't someone (like the gossip media sensationalizing this story) have requested it by now? Why hasn't gossip media asked Latifah to comment on whether if she even the so-called "cover story" is true? The personal injury lawsuit literally says Junior hurt many dogs and people. Where are the bite reports?
      The statute on limitations for bite injuries is 2 years. The girl waited 4 years. And, her mom (after being fired in 2018) had her own lawsuit (settled confidentially 2-3 months ago) for commissions she said she wasn't paid before the firing. Why did she wait 2 years? She could have sued as an employee, and had a wrongful termination lawsuit. You know? A lot of this just doesn't sound real.
      For example, the girl insists Junior was a notoriously dangerous dog. But, didn't tell anyone for 4 years? She was 15 when the alleged incident occurred. She never told her friends or team mates? Nobody sold the tip to gossip media all that time?
      I'm not saying it *didn't* happen. But, I'm surprised how people don't ask their own questions. They take anything as true. The sad thing is: the people who always disliked Cesar *want* this to be true. I think that's sadder than if it is.

    Dogs are funny I think they understand when someone has authority/dominance over them. It's easy for a dog to be over excited we as dog owners need to establish authority. The dog needs to learn. You might be calm but when he doesn't know how to act around certain situations you are the problem for not showing your lovely pup what's the right way. I agree. The only thing I will give as a caveat to his methods and philospophy is the concept of biological drift. A species and breeds genetic alterations (natural and human modifications) ALWAYS outweigh the training you give a dog. You never can out train a dogs innate nature, only curb it and control it. A pit bull that was bred from farm pull dogs will ALWAYS want to pull. It’s in their nature. You may train them for a week, but you need to continue training or allow them to do what they were made to do.

      @@joerafael8743 here in the U.K. we would call it a slip lead so I got one from a local pet store. The thing I did different was the placement of the lead I put it higher up his neck so just under the ears and instead of me anticipating that my dog would react when go past strangers or other dogs I just made sure I was in between the dog or person and my dog said nothing and carried on walking calmly and that’s working for us. My dog is much more relaxed and calm and it he does react with the lead placement I have more control

    So I tried this wit my 8 month old female Presa. For about 5 minutes I couldn’t believe the change. She feel in line with this technique. I’ve watched SO many videos on “ lease pulling” Cesar Millan’s teaching technique worked. Thank you SO much! But after about 5 minutes my Dog started pulling while I was using this technique. She wouldn’t stubbornly change Her ways. She still was determined to pull. I’ll keep trying.

    You tips are life saver. In India we have lot of stray which barks when we go out on walk and my dog lunges at them. I used to pull them which i understood that t was me that made mistake and not the dog after looking at the video. You tips helped me resolve he issue in one shot and my dog is more well behaved and responsive. Than you Cesar. You are a life saver.

    Would love to practice this with my small bichon! I realise that for me, the smaller the dog, the harder it is to handle them! I find myself crouching down lot... my poor back haha. Our rottie who's now in heaven was so much easier!

      I bought a slip leash like Cesar recommends and it didn’t help me with my dog. The slip leash kept slipping from the correct position back to his neck and he would go back to pulling. It’s not that simple at all.

    I'm convinced that all of my dog problems stem from placing my collar to low. I will see if I'm right when I get home

    • @markfuller
      @markfuller Před 2 lety

      Ordinary buckle collars aren't great for staying high on the neck, behind the ears. A big part of using a slip lead (which has a tensioning part to help keep it high on the neck) is pulling up to correct (not waiting till the dog is 2' in front, and pulling back, which will pull the slip lead down the neck). If you try to do this with an ordinary collar, it might pull over and off the head. A slip lead is the only way to do this.
      Another nice feature: you can convert a slip lead into figure 8 head halter (there's videos showing how. You just twist the neck loop 180 degrees and slip the new loop over the nose). That helps keep the slip lead high (if you had trouble keeping it high).
