I think people on the server see Mirage F1 on the EWR reports, don't check if it's the CE or EE and fly straight at you for the merge. The amount of head on 530's I've gotten where people don't even defend. Especially F5's who do have a good RWR to know they have been locked by an F1. Excellent double ace though!
About the amber numbers on the right side, the manual says:
-> Closing speed, target aspect angle or missile flight time scale: If the radar is locked, a
graduated closing speed scale from -100 m/s to +600 m/s appears in orange when using
the (C + M or SW) R mode. When using cannon mode or A/A short range missiles it
shows target closing velocity. When using 530 missiles it represents:
◦ before firing: missile flight time
◦ after firing: the time remaining before the break-away.
Nice video and great skills displayed there.
Mirage F1 is awesome, love watching people fly it, I have it but I dont fly much of anything anymore xD
Great job bringing that back at the end
wish it was this good in war thunder
In WarThunder the opposition aren’t limited to earlier Cold War aircraft, what I’ve done here is effectively downtiered it.
F1 is such a pretty jet
I love the mirage F1 its so based
8:35 A green dot appears in the lower middle of the HUD when the target enters the WEZ, and turns red when they're too close/maneuvering too hard.
It’s not a very dynamic cue though, sometimes it will say you’re within range but you know you aren’t - I think it assumes a certain altitude and aspect when the real figures might not fit the scope of its suggestion.
I haven’t tested it but I feel like the range it says is ok, is the same whether you’re at 30k or 5k, and I get the feeling that it considers “hot” to be anything in the 180° range between flanking left and right.
It’s a loose guide that can’t be trusted.
@@Bullet4MyEnemycan it be overwritten? I've felt a lot of the times it doesn't allow me to launch, when I know that the missile could pull enough Gs to connect..
@@vigvaryb
You can fire whenever you want, don’t need the green light - pretty sure you can even fire when it’s red.
Man I wish the mirage f1 in wt got a gunsight, idk why it doesn’t have one
@@kizvy
I wish the Mirage 2000 had the same one too 😩
Yayy new bullet content
Great video again Bullet, thanks!
If you hold down the release button it releases both missiles, you just need to press it and hold for less than a second to shoot 1 missile
My stick inputs are getting a little unreliable, sometimes I’ll press and it won’t register, so I’m forced to press and hold or press more than once and if it decides it’s going to work properly when I do, it fires twice.
Great video! Btw how u managed to get external view? Its replay?
If you position the centre of the map where you want the camera to be, then hit Ctrl + F11, you can access a fixed external view, live during the gameplay.
@@Bullet4MyEnemy thank you!
Do you notice the EE has a better flight model than CE? For me, the CE model constantly fights me on basic pitch changes and the nose always bucking in the opposite direction.
Yet when I fly the EE model on contention, I never have the problem for basic flight like the CE on Cold War server.
For a reference, I run auto start on both variants, I’m not sure if maybe auto star is missing something on the CE variant?
I don’t use auto start and they feel the same to me, not aware of any pitch damping controls in either of them though so I don’t think it could be an auto start thing.
Interesting problem though
Dang. I’ll post an update if I figure out what is causing it. I went through basics like checking all my bindings and curve settings to make sure it wasn’t some simple mistake I didn’t notice.
Nice one.
Doesn’t the f1c’s r530fs get 1 chaffed because it’s a pulse radar? Or is that not modeled yet as with ground clutter
@@kizvy
Yeah, it’s not modelled - probably won’t be because countermeasures in DCS are just pure RNG as far as I can tell.
Chaff especially is largely ineffective.
@@Bullet4MyEnemy how would you avoid radar missiles without terrain masking in dcs? Is it just impossible
@@kizvythe 120 in dcs will always lose track if youre below the horizon for its seeker, so if youre under it and slightly notch itll miss. Check out PrezDCS video on notching
@kizvy
Notching or kinematically mainly, never noticed chaff doing anything.
@@Bullet4MyEnemy but doesn’t notching only work on pd radars? So in dcs, is the normal radar superior because it can’t be notched?
Hey mate, question: Does/has the mirage F1 flight model become/feel less janky/stiff from the time u started flying the module?
@@TazziedoesWT
It has had at least one round of tweaks, but I’ve mainly noticed the change in the ground handling, used to be really hard to land without rolling it but I don’t struggle much now - think they made the brakes less sensitive and made the non-high gain steering less shit.
If they have changed the flight handling then I haven’t noticed it much, or just forgot how it used to be.
About time
I wonder, is there a night time on the server or they have turned it off?
@@user-cw9zc7gg3j
Infrequently when the server is restarted it sometimes starts from around 6am, so the first sortie after a restart will sometimes be during sunrise.
But people generally just leave the server because pretty much everything apart from the A-10 and F-1 are blind without a HUD/thermals/radar
you really got a 9p3 on one wingtip and a 9p on the other?
EDIT: oh u mention it later...
also, RIP to fucking IR missiles tracking you through a cloud
@@snotcycle
Yeah, I’m so used to that bullshit I forgot to even comment on it.
WarThunder tactics die hard in DCS with their shitty seeker modelling.
How does this thing stand up to modern jets?
@@SpearHead1011
It’s a generation behind so it can engage them at close range with missiles on equal footing, depending on the server restrictions - it can carry Magic IIs, but it would more than likely lose a manoeuvring fight due to turn/engine performance.
At longer ranges the radar is a lot worse in terms of detection range and missile effectiveness, which will only get worse as the radar modelling is made more realistic.
But the RWR of this model at least is quite good for a Gen3 airframe.
It’s definitely not impossible but you have to work a lot harder for every splash - if you check my channel page under playlists, there’s a Mirage F1 playlist and one of the videos is called something like “Uptiering” where I take it out on an 80s server against Mirage 2000s and MiG-29s, the struggles are a bit more fleshed out there.
Is the EE available on every rotation ? cuz i wasn't able to find a spawn even tho we where on the 70s rotation
@@supersioux1441
I think it’s supposed to be on 70s and 80s but there’s often stuff wrong with things - like here it wouldn’t let me take a pair of 9P3s, had to take one and a 9P.
I know there’s a spawn on Caucasus that puts a recon MiG-19 in a fuel truck.
There are certain spawns that put you on the grass so you have to use the afterburner to get going.
It’s probably just that they forgot to put them in rather than them not being supposed to be there.
Could try pinging the server staff on the Heatblur discord.
haha, phenomenal! One plane lands in one direction of the runway and the other takes off from the opposite direction. This is exactly why I never play online. This is a bunch of idiots.
You say that like the AI are smart.
I’d rather contend with stupid runway shenanigans and play a game against humans who actually test me, especially since this stuff keeps you on your toes.
If you trust everyone to follow the same set of rules that isn’t skill you’re developing, it’s routine.
Single player is a load of bollocks, AI have fantasy energy conservation and thrust, fighting them isn’t remotely like fighting an aircraft faced with the same physical constraints as your own, you have to learn to fight their programmed response to your positioning rather than reading energy cues and nose position.
But they all land the same way… Big whoop.
I dont have it but this thing performs much better than Phantom in pvp i think. It has radar. It has radar gunsight. It has rwr. Phantom dont have those. Phantom is too realistic for non standartized game.
@@croma81
The Phantom rates better, but otherwise I agree - the MiG-21 and F1 radars’ lack of realism hurts the Phantom disproportionately because it’s modelled to such a high standard.
Phantom has Radar, Radar assisted gunsight and RWR.
@@2KOOLURATOOLGaming
Radar gunsight is awful though, works the same as the F-5 so you have to hold and match their turn for it to be any use.
If they know you’re there and act evasive you’d be better off eyeballing it.
