- Skald was a surprise hit in a fairly saturated crpg market. Over the last few weeks I've been watching the review numbers rise and it's great to see. Fans of older titles like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, or newer titles like Pillars of Eternity will likely find this enjoyable as well. This being my first serious game review, I appreciate any and all feedback. Make sure to pick which game to cover next!

I'd love to see more game reviews! Keep up the good work
Thank you!
"Stuns were completely unbalanced" it's a curse apparently
Can't escape the stun meta
Great review! Loved this game - story, sound design, and atmosphere were all on point.
Thank you!
Nice and concise! The shorter video is exactly where you’d want a review at just to figure out if your interested.
Nice review, short and precise. gonna check this one out
Big cash for me, I fell in love with the writing
Writing is so damn good
3:10 I thought for a sec that my graphic card died
Ahh, stun gaming
I'm about halfway through Skald right now. Very fun. Simple, but fun. I'm playing on hard and while the beginning was a bit difficult it quickly gets very manageable once you get a 3rd and 4th party member.
Using stealth to start fights is a huge advantage. Also while buying gear seems prohibitively expensive at first, stealing from vendors is surprisingly easy with a good thief. I pickpocketed 3 swords and two full plates from a vendor last night. Just don't try to steal gold as you'll steal one piece at a time.
Needing food to rest seems limiting at first, but as long as you explore and pick up what you find you'll have an abundance of food to rest basically whenever you want
I agree the magic is a bit lackluster. The buffs and debuffs should be, well, buffed. My main character is a guild magos and usually is spamming Magic missile / swarm of gnats. He's effective since he can target anywhere but not super interesting. Also of note, summons seem to decrease the xp you earn a little in fights so beware of that.
Hopefully theft gets reevaluated. It got reported a lot in their discord the first week. Never realized summons decreased xp! It makes sense, but jeez lol
Dolla Dolla Bills Yo
POG!
Great review! My only critique is that you should rename the series to Buff or Guff and rate the game based on the number and quality of the muscular women in it
I would like to see what you appreciated in Mechanicus. We all know the atmosphere and soundtrack is great but what about the gameplay? I think the mechanics of Mechanicus (haha) are really simple, for better or for worse.
If I don't get to it next I'll get to it eventually. Loving the game so far
Pet peeve of mine: telling us the best tactics is giving us a spoiler--just a gameplay/tactical spoiler rather than a story spoiler.
Needed something to talk about, otherwise the video would be much shorter :P
As much as I like lovecraftian-themed games, I'll have to pass on this one because of the artstyle. Visual presentation is quite important for me and the pixel style just doesn't cut it in portraying horror and lovecraft elements.
