HOLY SUMMON, BATMAN! The connections between The Summons, The Cetra, and The Planet! Why I think Alexander could have major lore implications and possibly a larger role in Rebirth!
I would love for Knights of The round to be integral to the main story. The party has to get it because it is the only way to truly defeat Jenova and it is imbued with the spirits who beat her all those years ago.
I’m with other commenters that Alexander maybe an Aeon made up of sacrificial Cetra people, an entire “Forgotten City” of people, who helped seal Jenova away at the crater. It’s fitting that’s where Holy would be summoned, the only place where Alexander was likely created. The idea that this Aeon was magically merged with a tutelary creature spawned by the planet like a Weapon is awesome. Your theory the Snow Woman being a Cetra spirit is genius as that goes in line with the Temple of the Ancients as similar disembodied spirit creatures are found there who are also protecting the meteor materia.
Another masterpiece crafter by the most pure power of hype! I love your theory videos man, you did such an incredible job at ff16 and with ff7, from midgar zolom till now you’re nailing it! At the end of the day, one of the best, if not the best, part of they changing the remake’s story is that it give us the opportunity to discuss and theorize a whole much further than if it was just a 1:1 remake (like the map is supposed to be, lol) Thanks for the service to all of us, and btw, such chilly background music, who is it? 😅
It would be so sick if those Summon points of interest on the map had summon materia or materials needed for a summon, but also ancient Cetra texts only Aerith can read. Kind of like how FFX had really old Al-Bhed circle signs on structures throughout Spira. I would love having Aerith tell stories of old Cetra texts as you run around the world, maybe they describe how the summon came to be and what happened.
I love the concept. Reminds me of the Fayth from FFX. Honestly, in every FF games the summons were always the coolest part of games for me and Square rarely explained their existence in the FF games. FFVII summons being ancient Cetra consciousness crystallised in form of materia is a very cool and fitting concept.
Since Remake already implied that summons are connected with Cetra and that Shiva freezed Jenova, I love that they seem to be expanding on it in Rebirth!
I forgot where it said but I remember they hinted that Shiva or an ice queen...froze Jenova was it in remake part one that they mentioned it or ff16? I forget where. Maybe that woman/spirit was the snow queen but not necessarily Shiva?
While not a theory guy, I like the premise of this. One of my big hopes was to see the Summons in the world to be in their natural state instead of being hidden in red balls, as almost every other FF game have them being part of the lore actively, and I think FF7 could make use of that to be even better. (Both for to be relevant in the lore, but also found them in the open worldish in dungeons etc) And also, the fact that Alexander is the only Holy elemental summon in OG, it sounds very cute, so I like it.
Who are you young man? This channel belongs to someone in my age, wise and child of the 80's :) Alexander is for sure one of the strangest summons in FF History and this deservers a good background story! Damn seelpezi has destroyed me for ever :) In this Shinra video about the Cetra there is this one woman with a hoody, she is the one creating the materia, so she is something special in the Cetra tribe hierachy. And her hoody is white, while the clone hoodies are black. This white and black scheme topic that sleepezi opened, I can't unsee know anymore, damn ;(
Juicy, wild, and inspiring insights! Almost feels too thought out to not see different hierarchies of beings that are designed or chosen as sort of weapons/champions. Cosmic Lifestream: Planetary Lifestream Jenova Planetary Lifestream: WEAPON Cetra Jenova: Sephiroth Shinra Monsters Shinra (execs?) Cetra: SUMMON Humans/Shinra: Tsviets The party? Very interesting that most of these groups are color coded or deliberately diverse between each other. If any of these concepts have a shared core direction (the genealogy of myth) like I believe (hope?) they do then thats some very respectable cosmological lore building. I think if true it would also show that there was some storytelling effort put into the Jungian, Gnostic, Capitalistic, and world mythological influences that go deeper than the sinply aesthetics to point to their potential shared core and the true ones above all: Human Consciousness. Yeah if any of this had any validity and representation in the Remake project it is definitely a worthy successor to the core message of OG. A story of Gods and Monsters desiring human consciousness.
I think sephiroth corrupts the lifestream by the end of part 2 and therefore either kills all the summons or turns all the summons into his puppets. Considering the set pieces in FFXVI, im expecting the end of Rebirth to be wild. Wouldnt be surprised if we get to the city of the ancients and we proceed to get 4-5 hours of straight up VFX, a ragnarock occasion.
Battling the summons kinda like the Dark Aeons in FFX! Would definitely make for epic setpieces but yeah, I agree, The final two chapters of Rebirth are gonna get wild!! I'm so curious how it all plays out!
What if the Summons (gods) were involved with the creation of the lifestream, and the Ancients (like the Mayan civilization) had superior knowledge for their time due to having contact with these Gods? What if these Gods have allowed the planet to harness their power, but humanity can’t harness their raw power, so they put it into manageable quantities aka the orbs?
I hope we get incidental summon lore... its always bothered me how they are just thrown out there uber powerful and mostly a gameplay thing in a world where materia have such plot importance!
Just out of curiosity, your FF7 gameplay from the OG looks very smooth and has shadows/lighting that mine doesnt have, even though I have the HD Chibi graphics.. could you tell me what mods you use etc?
It is absolutely incredible! 4k / 60fps true widescreen is the greatest thing ever! 7thheaven.rocks/ Here's my quick tutorial for it: czcams.com/video/35epVN7t9Ig/video.htmlsi=S1PPEzWv9XpjntKS
I think this would be awesome and makes sense if you are right, you make some strong arguments, but there are some things to consider. Like, if she is supposed to defend against Jenova, she failed the simple task of just knowing where Jenova actually was, as she didn't stop Shinra from finding and taking Jenova. Sitting inside a cave is not being a great guard, although this does not dismiss that she could be one. She and her regular enemy variants are also enchantresses, or rather seductresses, not just sorceresses. They are using abilities to confuse the party, which is more in line with something that someone evil do rather than someone good. Holy is also the weakness of "undead", and Jenova is not an undead, not even her "DEATH" version. Jenova is not weak to holy... Being based on the Yuki-Onna from Japanese folklore "snow woman", is probably why she is named snow, and why they talk about her as a snow woman and a myth and her fear of the hot spring comes from the mythology where she basically melted away in a hot bath. I don't think it is a benevolent creature, even if it spares you if you loose. I don't think she is made to be a good being in FF VII, and rather than her becoming Alexander, it might just be that we free it from basically a "demon". Enemies disappearing from the "overworld" and items left afterward usually means they are killed, not transformed into something. Or is ifrit actually a part of Jenova? Also, I have no idea how Advent children's Materia usage comes into this, but at least the remnants simply slotted materia into themselves and not their gear. Snow could possibly be a Jenova infected human/cetra or "monster" that have some sense of self left and stole and/or inhibits Alexander. But I like your theory. I want the summons to matter more in FF VII, as in the OG you just find them somewhat random, like Ramuh just lying in the lounge for the Chocobo riders. However, it also risks just "copying" other FFs, as Alexander is literally a plot device for defending the castle in 9 and FF XV shows the true power of knights of the round as the previous emperors as "gods" (and kaijus as the old wall), although FF XV did copy diamond weapon. Round and round it goes. "Rebranding" the summons as actual "personal" weapons is a neat idea, although weird that Alexander is called weapon, as that has a significant implication in FF VII, while the other summons are not. Great video.
I would love for Knights of The round to be integral to the main story. The party has to get it because it is the only way to truly defeat Jenova and it is imbued with the spirits who beat her all those years ago.
This would be beautiful
This is the kind of Summon Lore that FF7 really needs man. You on to something
Alexander is my favourite summon in the entire final fantasy series. To see him in the trailer, I cried 😂

Really enjoyed this. I'm impressed by how you keep finding so much detail and connect the dots like this.
Thanks, man! It's super fun to do! Glad you enjoy it!

It’s insane that all these years later, we are still finding new lore.
Indeed

I like how you included Ho Ho Hooo as part of the quote.
Awesome theory. The evidence from the OG is very convincing.
This is my favorite FF7 video of recent weeks.
Really appreciate that! Glad you think so!
Great video as always! ❤️

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!

your breakdowns are amazing bud.

Noticing the Forgotten Capital on Alexander is a brilliant observation
fantastic video as always
Thank you!
I don't know but Alexander's design reminded me of the cities in ffx
More cetra content plz. Thanks!!
Alexander is my family’s Coat of Arms.

They made Kujata look badass. I wanna see what they do with Typhon.
Well it has to be an improvement, Typhon looked like a horny Elton John
after a 7 day bender on the sniff.

Actually, I see it now, but I don't seem to have the same look in mine both in battle and out, despite having the same loadout... Any idea why?
Go into the ffnx.toml file and scroll til you see lightning and change from FALSE to TRUE
Hope this helps!
Curious, what version of FF7 is this footage from (with Snow) ?? It looks so smooth.
It is absolutely incredible!

What is this remastered version of FF7 OG??? It looks so nice! I can't find it!
Check out 7th Heaven Mod Manager for FF7! It's incredible! 16:9 widescreen 60fps!!

Yes, it is I. I am Alexander.
My fav summon is Diablo
It literally says in Remake that the cetra created the summon materia to use as weapons. Not a crazy theory, more like actual lore from the game.
…… you’re the goat
😅 Yoooo! Thanks for the boost in motivation!
damn, bro. u do your research
