Thanks a lot for all your vids! It helps me a lot. I've bought Johnson 5 1/2 (1964 cd-21a) week ago. It didn't work and now it runs, men. IT RUNS 😅! You should see my smile after I started it first time.

OMG I love your set up and view. My people are in Thibodeaux. I'm in NE mountains of Washington state. I have a collection of these I have just began to pursue restoration and use of them. Have a pair of Sears 3.5 ho ( one baged Wizard for Western Auto and the other just baged Sears) Dandahermit. I'm kinda old n slow. 80. Haha

the problem with the carburetor is where the brass jet screws into the top half of the carburetor, the threads are tight, and the needle is not going in as far as it should.. it is not seating but it feels like it is.. cleaning the needle and threads of the carb so it will screw all the way in and seat, will fix the issue.

Great job Mike! Dreamland to have a perfect matching motor to swap out and absolutely isolate a problem.
Mike, I am restoring my 5 HP "Angler". What is the matching (or near) spray paint can paint I can buy form Home Depot or Amazon that matches that original color? (the color of that powerhead).

Compare your main jet with his. Somewhere along the way his may have been swapped out your main jet in his carb and see what happens. Great video!
