I recently bought a chain that was already ptlux plated.
I want to get my chain to oxidize a little. Is there any way to remove the ptlux (some type of solution maybe?) other than polishing it to remove it?
    Thanks!

What temperature is the platinum solution used?

Maybe it was just the lighting, but the finished piece looks oxidized to me. Not even close to a nice rhodium finish.

No reply.... I guess you're right mate:) or Rio grande should make another video with a good lighting, to show us a proper finish piece.

I just got a p.lux chain thinking it was rhodium plated like my other chains. How long does this last compared to rhodium plating?

According to the TDS, the optimum operating temperature of the electrolyte is 35 degrees Celsius. At what temperature do you work?

We try to have it as close to 35°C (95°F) as possible when plating. Adhering to the instructions as closely as possible will result in the most reliable and consistent plating.

Hello, was there a specific part of the acid dip that you wanted to know more about?

Can we also rhodium over this to get better luster?

    • @RioGrande1944

PTLUX is a less expensive alternative to Rhodium. So one would not want to plate over it as this would be redundant and even more costly. Thanks!
