Pioneer S11 vs Rane Seventy Before You Buy!

  • My unedited thoughts on what I consider the best 2 DJ mixers currently available. One thing I forgot to say is that the S11 is compatible with both Serato and Rekordbox. The Seventy is just Serato although it could be mapped for Rekordbox.

      I have honestly never tried the S11, but I have the 70 and love it. Built like a tank is a true statement and they even have magnetic skins for the 70, which means it has a full metal chassis. So if some of the new features are soon going to be implemented on the 70 with updates, I'm going to be even happier with it!

      Nice review, especially in regards to structural integrity and longevity. I can appreciate the features on the s-11. I value quality over bells and whistles, and shiney things so I respect the honesty of the review. Definitely comes down to preference too, as in which one seamlessly integrates itself with your style of creative expression. That being said Rane has always been quality... in regards to the features its even better knowing that those will be added to the Rane 70. Man I think he had me at plastic...🤔

    Wicked review. I upgraded from S9 to a Rane Seventy and this makes me feel much more secure about my choice. Everything I suspected between Seventy and S11 has been affirmed. Thanks a lot for making this video, @DJDUMusic! I'd love to know specifically which other serato-based features will be coming to the Rane.

    Great Honest review. Coming from a Traktor/Rekordbox background I've had the 70 for a few months and love the sound and build quality, but have struggled with Serato. I've since switched to using Virtual DJ as it has plug and play mapping and the ability to mix using stems. I am tempted by the S11, but with all the advanced features only currently available in Serato, I don't think I'd gain anything by using it with Rekordbox. Think I'll be sticking with the 70 for now until Rekordbox/Virtual DJ catch up with the S11 advanced features.

    It's a good unbias review, we see so many one sided Reviews, you get the feeling the guy was given the mixer, so not going to knock it, since this review, we now have the Rane seventy two mk2 and very similar to the djm s11 with screen etc, but the seventy looks a good mixer, not cluttered and good sound, the build quality on the Rane is reassuring and if you are a mobile dj, it will Last, the Pioneer will appeal to Pioneer die hards, who simply won't change no matter what, I personally like things simple and the build quality of the Rsbe works for me.
    Great review, Thanks.

    Thanks for this.....I'm in the middle of trying to decide which mixer to get this weekend. Can you hear any difference in sound quality? That's the main differentiator for me......I've heard rumours that Rane has a better sound than Pioneer, but haven't seen anyone really talk about it. I currently have a Rane TTM56 and it doesn't sound that great to me, compared to my old Vestax 05 Pro. Would like to hear your opinion DU

    • @DJDUMusic
      @DJDUMusic  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes there is a difference in sound quality. Without a doubt the Rane sounds much more crisp and punchy. The pioneers has no different than any other controller that they make. I would compare the Rane with almost Allen and Heath quality. Almost is the key word.

    • @djfilthyrich1
      @djfilthyrich1 Před 3 lety

      @@DJDUMusic thanks. Thanks to you I've narrowed it down to the 70 and the 72 mk2. Which one is better overall in your opinion? And I'm assuming sound quality is the same since they're both Rane?

    • @DJDUMusic
      @DJDUMusic  Před 3 lety

      @@djfilthyrich1 I gravitate towards the 70 because the workflow is just so much quicker and it just feels so solid. It’s also cheaper and I don’t know why but I love the 70. Even though it’s much cheaper than the S 11 I seem to gravitate towards it because of my workflow. The 72 has a lot going on but is solid but I think for most DJs to 70 is going to be a beast.
