I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Beomgyu's ability to embody concepts has always been something I've admired. His facial expressions are definitely his strongest point and that's exactly what was needed in order to complete GBGB's overall quality of performance. It just elevates it! Beomgyu is a very charismatic performer and I really loved his parts in the song as well. He has a lovely voice.
Beomgyu was definitely a standout this comeback! His attention to detail is amazing. Each time you see him perform you can discover something new about it. The way he executes and accentuates certain moves in the choreography leaves me in awe. I really like how visible his passion for performing is. It felt like it oozed out of him during every stage they've done.
I really think you’d enjoy the opening sequence dance practice, the movements are a bit bigger which works well in a dance practice format instead of something like good boy gone bad which is a lot more of an intimate choreo with a lot of small movements, opening sequence dance also seems to take from contemporary/lyrical aspects and is definitely an amazing live stage to watch as it’s so emotive but even in the dance practice they obviously worked really hard on being emotive in a different way and incorporating new dance styles, please if you get the time I really would recommend checking it out I feel like you’d really enjoy the dance

I love what you pointed out about Beomgyu! Yes, he really immerses himself into the performance and gets fully into character from start to finish. He's really good at conveying the emotions of a song and he has incredible facial expressions and stage presence! He's a great performer in general and it's very obvious how hard he works on improving every area of it, dance being one of the more noticeable ones as well. I feel very proud of him and his growth. As you said, he KILLS that prechorus part! Thank you for the lovely reaction and honest thoughts. It felt very refreshing to hear and see. And I do agree that the theatrics of GBGB are an integral part of it!
Beomgyu is an amazing performer! I felt very much entranced by his parts myself. I love how eerie they are and how well he acts them out. Like you said, it feels very artsy in a way. I just couldn't take my eyes off him.
I know people have different preferences, and not everybody will feel connected to everything. We can't force someone to like something we like. This comeback of TXT was a legendary one. They are not only dancers or singers but they're performers. In their every song we can see their versatile facial expressions, the emotion absorbed in their dance moves, their whole vibe is something to be appreciated. We TXT fans have seen their growth in every comeback and we can relate to it.
Their promotion period for this comeback was not very long, no Studio Choom, only five music stage performances, so this Choreography Version of the title track is a gift really. The members are, of course, well into preparations for ACT: LOVESICK - good luck with their tour!

they have done similar dances to that one, if you havent seen i recommend watching their we lost the summer intro dance practice for new years eve live and their mma 2020 outro dance practice as well
In one of the interviews, if memory serves, TXT did mention that their dance/choreo here was more expression based, so not surprised that they came out with two versions of the dance :D The dance practice version tends to focus more on the technical, IMO, whereas the choreo version here concentrated on the overall concept tying in with the MV scenario (if that makes sense).
TXT's performance relying on facial expressions isnt totally a new thing. They did it with Frost Performance Video where their facial expressions were insane and so on point with the lyrics of Frost.

i don't know anything about performing because i am just a viewer but the reason why there's a difference in atmosphere between a performance video and a dance practice video is because in dance practices, they focus mostly on the movements, the dance, synchronization and how they use the space while in performance videos, they have to consider the facial expressions, the costumes, the stage set and the overall vibe. they're equally great, that's all i can say.
@cookies and cream dance practices are made to 100% focus on the choreography which is why its usually fix ver and why no one pays attention to their presence

I think the dance practice came out looking very *clean* in a way that they're in such a bright room and the camera is very far its hard to see their facial expressions well which is a major factor bringing out their bad boy character

lol, they were not vampires or anything like that. The concept was a "good boy" who lost his mind and went crazy from a break-up. So now their burying themselves for the "bad boy" to be born. The album as a whole covers the 5 stages of grief. This is the 2nd song on the album so it covers the "anger" stage. I think that you'll REALLY like their song 'Opening Sequence' from the album. It was the first song, so it covers the denial stage. The lyrics and melody are haunting...

As a contemporary dancer yourself, I think you should watch either the dance practice/choreography video of TXT's song Opening Sequence. It may be more to your liking. It is a great song as is the entire album.
Why do I feel like if this was Enhypen you would have put more heart into this? I was a bit let down as you are usually my favorite reactor and yet we didn't even get to see your reaction to the MV.
Opening Sequence is such a great song and choreography! Easily one of my favorites from TXT.
Also, we all have different reactions to things in the moment whether bias is one of the factors involved or not. I think it's pretty unfair to claim that Jeff would have "put more heart" into a reaction just based on the group alone, even if you're disappointed that he didn't post his reaction to the MV. Maybe the lack of reaction or enthusiasm would have caused people to get upset. It's valid to decide not to publish something to the world if you don't want people to judge it, and he doesn't owe anyone certain reactions regardless.

@@evelinramosmiranda619 Don’t be sad as a MOA. He is simply biased. He prefers enhypen and when it comes to TXT he is so CRITICAL. For him enhypen can do no wrong but all he does with txt is criticise them when it’s not his place and when did so well. U shouldn’t be sad when all he is, is biased and disrespectful towards TXT. He prefers other groups so only compliments them and just criticises txt. Don’t listen to him. TXT are amazing and EVERYONE knows that. We don’t need a bused person to like it cause everyone else does and I’m a dancer and they did amazing and many professional agree.
This only explains that everyone has their own preferences.But i hope when they react they will react objectively not bec they just want to compare them with other groups they like

Maybe it's just my feeling, but I really don't understand why there are always so many criticis about TxT’s dancing compared to others. It's a genuine question because I think their level as dancers is higher than other groups which are usually just praised here.

I feel he is biased against txt aka he favours other group (shall not mention here but I think u can guess). Nothing wrong with having preferences n this is his channel. Though I wish he can be more fair and objective in his comments on txt so that like u said when we compare his comments on other groups dance, it makes more sense. Again it’s his channel so to me, it’s up to subscribers whether to watch his reactions or not.

Totally agree with you! I like performance version much better than the choreo version! And beomgyu facial is amazing here, and I wish Soobin is a little bit more creepy as well hahaha (he looks too handsome all the time)
TXT facial expression are top tier! Maybe that's why their performance video way more enjoyable that the dance practice, bcs of that I really recommend you to react to their TXT - Puma Studio Choom performance and TXT - Frost Special Performance Video, also their 'Opening Sequence' performance on M2 channel if it's possible

Jeff- if you want to check out a really strong recording of this piece, check out their 1 the K dance performance. It’s still my favorite version for this comeback. I agree the choreo was meant for videography/ music shows but I don’t mind the dance practice at all. I actually find it easier to be able to focus on what is happening without so much camera movement. Certainly the overall impact the choreography makes is lessened, but I love that my eyes only have to focus on one thing lol. I think GBGB definitely showcases their abilities as a PERFORMANCE group. That means they truly shine onstage, more so than in a dance practice. I’d rather this be the case than the reverse, which is all too common with many groups.

I think ur channel will continue to grow even if u don't put out video reacting to grps u don't connect with. It just comes across as a overly critical outlook on particular grp. But then again it's ur channel n u can do whatever u want

Really think you'd enjoy the Opening Sequence choreography. I think it's much more up your alley in terms of style and I'm mesmerized by not only the song but the dance everytime I see it. The moves are much bigger and feel really elegant. The comeback show version of it on Mnet is really good to watch their expressions and smaller details but the dance practice also does it a service. I think you'd enjoy watching both!

I started watching Jeff's channel because he was very fair and objective with his analyses and reactions to all of the groups he watches. I learned a lot from him and found his explanations on performance to be very educational and fun, and always looked forward to what he had to say about each group he reacts to.
Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say that his credibility as a performer is no longer valid to me. It's very clear he's no longer objective in his reactions. He has his favorites, and he obviously has certain groups he doesn't care much for, which is fine because it's his channel. But if he is going to be biased in his analyses, then he should just stick to the groups he loves instead of forming a very negative atmosphere for the groups he doesn't care about anymore.
I'm going to switch to a performance/dance channel that is unbiased and objective in their critiques from now on. I'm very disappointed in how things have turned out. This is no longer a positive and fair place for me.
Jeff, please just watch the videos from performers/idols that you enjoy and don't force yourself to watch groups you don't like anymore.
