- Firstly, thanks to Marcos Tinocco for allowing us to visit the academy, teaching a class, rolling with me for ages, then spending an extra hour of his time teaching and providing feedback. If you’re in the Boston area - it’s a MUST to train there!!!
People always ask me what is the difference between the upper echelon and a regular black belt? I think this video captures it perfectly.

If you train with Zuka, you know what im talking about when I say that there is no greater joy than seeing him struggle against an opponent. Years of getting chirped at while he teaches...this brings me much needed solace lol! 😂❤

Amazing details from Tinocco. I rolled with him at Marcelo's and still have PTSD from his side control pressure.
The belt deadlift trick is amazing. I'm going to try it this week since we're drilling open guard.

I use to train at Marcelo’s when Marcos was there and we were doing stand up and it was my turn to go against him. The only thing I kept saying to myself was what you kept saying and that is he is like a tree trunk. Super solid. With that said he was always a gentleman to me . Those were great times .
Same! He was very chill - this was the highest level person I’ve ever rolled with who didn’t try to murder me. It was also really cool to get feedback real time and after the roll. This was one of the best travel-training experiences I’ve had. Right up there with AOJ.
