  • Today we will learn how to make byrek from an expert: an Albanian Grandma. We are going back to Gjirokastër from Korçë, to stay with Marko's family for a few days, before leaving Albania and heading north.
    Location:
    📍Gjirokastër, Albania

We are Heather & Ryan, we sold everything to travel full-time! We left San Diego and drove cross country to visit friends and family before leaving the country in September 2021! Our overseas adventure has begun, here in Albania!

How good was life before the pandemic. Everyone dancing in circles without masks and enjoying life 😜. Glad you enjoyed your time in Albania and learned how to make a byrek 😁

This is one of my favorite videos. Love that you experienced the culture and the family, awesome. Grandma would have had to make a few more Byrek if I was there, looked delicious.

It was our favorite video too!!! And for real we ate the whole thing in like 2 seconds 🤣🤣I’ll have to try to remake it once we’re home, maybe you guys can come over and try some haha. (Won’t be as good as grandma’s tho)

Whhaaattt! That byrek is the best in the world. It's one of the two of my favorite byreks. When my wife makes it I can't stop eating. I call it Albanian style pizza haha! Glad you guys enjoyed it. Nothing beats handmade phyllos. And that "oil" is not just oil but it is raw olive oil that gives an incredible taste to byrek.

Hand knitted hats made of good quality wool, super nice. My grandma used do that too, isn't that cute?
The wool socks are called papuce.

Is there a section of Google Maps that shows driving delays due to goats in the road?
