GUYS, major update!!!! After many months I have received a confirmation that RYKER in Europe is slower than RYKER in US due to Emissions regulation. So its not me who made it wrong, its really how Ryker is in EU.

That's interesting I purchased a Ryker 600 here in Canada. the fastest I have gone so far is 131kph. still had the power to go faster.
Yes they have a torque limiter up to 50mph...USA versions don’t....the ECU can be unlocked for the full power and 0 to 60 times of 4.5 to 5 secs

Thanks Martin, I have not ridden in years and now have a pacemaker so I thought my riding days were behind me. I'm considering this one since it's a good price and a decent approximation to the good old days.

Be bit careful, this is elder video and EU spec of bike. 900 version with bit of play can do 0-60 in 6s or smthing.. and that is pretty much fun
Nice video. I've had my 600 up to 93mph for a few seconds on the highway with a nice tailwind on a cool day. This is after I added a K&N Appolo air filter.

Unlocked the torque limiter on my UK 900 ryker 2 days ago using the BUDS software....no dynojet pv3 or maptunerx remap needed....now does 60mph in around 5 seconds ...top speed is a limited 105mph

I think that the CVT transmission that pauses for a second or so when starting has to do with the slow numbers. I would bet that rolling start numbers would be a lot quicker.

Yup they sell superb. Just be careful, this is EU version and its bit slower than US version due to emmisions regulation

my friend, i am sorry i had only 3 hours to do all of this. plus, the sound was all wind, so i tried to keep it there as much as possible..
It's a different driving dynamic and driving position. It's so small with such a short wheelbase and no leaning turning if you have excessive speeds everyone's going to be killing themselves. I think a thrill seeker would absolutely love a little bit more power but it's probably sufficient once you start riding it and understand the dynamic of it. Think of a super-fast ATV and how good it would be at taking turns, and then how dangerous it could be because people would be flicking themselves over the bike sideways because there is no lean in.

Almost made the mistake of a 600 purchase so you saved me 9000. bucks.I'd of kicked myself in the ass for tossing away that kind of money on something I now can see would have only taken a few weeks to need much more out of it and be stuck.... Also i dud compary Spyder to Ryker on twisty road. And also please put into consideration my weight. 120kg at that time... like i dont know, 265 pounds.. it slows the bike quite significantly. dont know suzuki 400, but they wont pass you on dirt road.. look at it from different point of view.. but in general, yes...
I have the burman 400 with a trike kit and the ryker 600 the ryker is faster as far as i can tell.

Thanks for the comparison, was looking for this info. I was always leaning towards the Rally 900cc, but now I have specs to go along. Not really looking for a speed demon, so this is fast enough for me. I would like to compare to the Spyder, just to know, but this is good for the price point. Are there any options you recommend? My main two that are a must for me will be a windshield and passenger seat with back rest (in case I can get my wife to ride). Curious if the splash guard and hand protectors are worth it.
Keith, if you are from US, this Ryker will go faster. I was told this couple pf months later by guys from BRP, due to emmisions in EU. As for the addons, my recomandation is always the same, and it does not matter if ypu buy spyder or ryker. It can be hard and tempting but trust me it works always. Dont buy too much unless there is a super great all in one deal. Buy what you need and add as you will rYde. Many things ypu will never use, many you will find out ypu want a different one as you bought. Hand protectors? Hmm... see this is exactly the point. Will ya need them? Will ya like the look? And second rule with Ryker. Dont go crazy in general. Because at one point you will spend more than on Spyder, and tgrn it will make no sense what so ever. In case of any help just let me know on instagram or FB via direct message and i will tell you my point of view in case you want :)
@@MartinTheVlogger thanks so much for your reply and advice. Yes I'm from the US, so I saw your comments already of the limitation in the UK. Speed wasn't my concern, as the Rally 900cc will be perfectly fine. I had to laugh because you are right - the hand protectors was more of a curiosity from riders and also looked cool - but not a necessity at all. You are also spot on with too many accessories, which would put one at the price point closer to that of the Spyder. I considered the F3, but concluded if I'm spending $20k on a vehicle, it should be more than for fun and drivable despite the weather. Even with the upgraded engine, 2nd seat, and windshield, the Rally is close to half that price, so makes for a great purchase. Again thank you for answering my questions and I'll look you up on FB. Looking to purchase in the next couple months as I'm taking the class and getting my license this month :-)

A 900 ace with a reflash will make about 105-110 at the crank, setup the clutches for the extra power and then it would be a fun machine for awhile. (900 ace turbo... Ahem...)

0-60 mph in 8.6 seconds???!!! For a 900? Thats SO disappointing man...
It looks like the problem is the excessive wheel spin and traction control. A lowered rear tire pressure or summer tire might make a big difference. That CVT makes for a slow start. I would bet that a rolling start would be much quicker. I have read that there is a pause when the throttle is engaged.
@@richardmaxwell5371 Actually you can give it a little bit of gas before the cvt engages which replicated giving it gas and dropping the clutch, so instant acceleration, cvt does not have a slow start. As for a rolling start, it depends on your speed, if you are going fast enough to have the secondary "clutch" engaged then its even slower, its like trying to give it gas in a gear too high.

I actually like the Can-Am Ryker, but WOW My Scooter a 2016 Kymco People GTi 300 (87mph Gps Verified) has a Higher Top Speed than the 600 .
With Modern Tec. Im sure The Can-Am Ryker wasnt Built for OutRight Speed . From what I've seen on the Streets they are Pretty Quick, Quicker than My Scooter .

Thank you. Please there has been one info, that came to me much later than the video was published. This version of 600cc and 900cc that i did revies about are for European market! So there are bit slower because of our bloody emision regulations :( i was not aware of this, and i was not told by dealer about this 🤷♂️

Not enough power for me , I own a older Polairs rzr xp 1000 parallel twin an thats push out 115hp rwhp non turbo with tune an exhaust, i think Can Am could bring a little bit more power too tthe party like at least 100hp... Any way what i want to know is how do these stats compare to a Spyder f3 ?? An thanks for more great info on the Ryker at a time when its hard to get any usable info on the machine !!
Clay, i think i have made a video about acceleration several times on my channel for f3s.. before upgrade and after the ECU upgrade. In general, f3s goes to 100kmh below 5s i think.. and it has a real blast up to 160kmh - like 95 mph. then the top speed is about 200kmh, but it really struggles after your reach 160kmh and it slowly goes up to 185kmh.. 200 is a real pain to reach :)
Even the oldest GS/RS are doing the 100km/h in under 5s and reach 185 km/h.

I am answering basic questions and there is also a footage from acceleration up to 180kmh on the beast. I think you have pretty good idea about spyder vs ryker comparison. So what i will do is that i will compare the f3s with footage from ryker. Hope in late november my balls will not freeze to death when i will shoot again the f3s acceleration and top speed :)))

My 2010 900cc struggle to 130mph and it was very slow getting there after 120mph, I had the manual version. They are gear very low so they have great torque for two up they are just not very quick.
I’m getting the 600 really soon and I’m kinda sad it doesn’t even burnout at all seems like it starts really slow 😔

Agreed. These numbers are pretty sad. For crying out loud, a Ninja 400 (the go-to BEGINNER bike) has a 0-60 of 4.1 seconds and top speed of 120mph. So the baby Ninja can get to 60mph in the time it takes the 900cc ryker to get to 37mph.
My 2009 can am spyder gs does 0 to 6 in 4.5 maybe less with a programer and exhaust. Weird they got slower witch is not good.

Just watched a video on CZcams where a guy reached 106 mph on a freeway. Was not happy he couldn't hit 107.
Yhis is old video, since then we are able to unlock the bike because of EU specifications and emission norms etc.

Power to weight ratio calculation for ryker 900 (dry weight 280kg + 20kg fuel) with Martin on board shows acceleration figure less than 6.0 sec.
Some thing does not add up. Either the demo bikes had some sort of limiter or else. The acceleration for 900 cc with average rider should be in low 5 sec.
They need a 1200cc 4 cylinder one too
Yes, bigger or more powerful engine would be great, but not for Ryker.. i think concept of low weight and decent power is ok... but Spyder is different game. I wish there is +140hp version...

I own one (900cc) in Las Vegas, and there is nothing that can beat me from stop light to stop light. I've been up to 90 miles per hour on mine and the acceleration throws you back so you must be careful.

In the USA our bikes are way faster then the Europe version like this video. I have a 900 ace and like you mine moves damn good! These bikes don’t have sick top speed but acceleration from 0-100 mph is pretty darn good. I’ve had mine up to 107 mph so far. Supposedly a tune makes them much more alive all around especially up top. Haven’t tuned mine yet but will soon.

what's the difference between the 900 motor in the Ryker and the 1000 can am x3 ? Except for the turbo? The X2 has 172 HP
Hmm, its ACE series, so i think this is the one almost identical at least the 600 as it is in jetski... hope i am not wrong.
@@MartinTheVlogger the 900 is in can am x3 side by side with 120 baseline turbo up to 172 horse power. Ryker would start getting fun at 120hp and a thrill ride at 172 . Can am needs to sell a turbo kit. Then a flash to stage one I think puts it to 200hp

I think BRP will never offer an option which would outperform the Spyder. The Ryker is a toy in comparison.
Top speed in us is around 97mph downhill I got 103 im in the south i have a 600 with a k and n in it the accel to 60mph is like 2sec with the k and n in it
Yup the trouble is that EU version has the power reduced because of emissions... and nobody knew about it when the first 2 rykers where in europe... :(

Europe version is slow due to emissions regulations. US version is bit better, and now as i have bought one i am working on upgrades.😉😉😉
@@MartinTheVlogger And it’s a 600cc sport bike. Unless you turbo the Ryker, nothing you do will make it faster or give it a higher top end than a Ninja 600 or even a Ninja 400.
900 much better, and if you als add aftermarket intake and exhoust would be perfect. Maybe light tune as well up to 90HP with that would be enough :P
Yes, you are right, plus these bYkes are locked due to EU regulations, as we have found out much later, so we are easy at 5.5s at 100kmh/60mph when unlocking then
The US version is much quicker. That 0-100 kmh of 8.6 seconds on the 900 was sad to see. Given power to weight, should be more like 4.6 seconds. Even the 600 is quicker than that here. Top speed still isn’t blazing fast but at least exceeds 100 mph.

I have a 600 and I'm not sure what was wrong with yours but my acceleration and 0-60 is way faster than this video.
I will do this test again, with 900cc rally edition coz many ppl wrote me that i did something bad... so lets see... but dont forget i am 120kg or 264pound guy and it was cold out there..

for the top speed and acceleration of that 600 you can damn near buy a 600cc supersprt for the same price, or buy a ninja 300 for half the price and get a higher top speed. I cant see who would buy one of these for the price and performance.
The market is elsewhere. Same way you cannot compare "superbike" owner vs chopper guy. The priority, interest, and joy is somewhere else. Same with this. I love my Spyder, i love hot it looks how it rYdes ans also what security it gives me. Another point of view is. Try to take Ninja on dirt road, you can take Ryker and plus it will be fun 😉😉😉😉

Really was considering the 600 but I just dont believe it has adequate hwy speed capability at 56mph when the limit here is 75 and 80mph. Seems fine as a city commuter, but being rung out constantly at 55mph to stay with traffic doesnt seem worth the expense.
The dry weight is 280kg if you allow for driver and fuel 110kg it would wigh 390kg and with 77 hp thats 197hp per ton, so why so slow? if you look at this video 9 minutes 10 seconds it's alot faster (mph not kmh) does putting it in sport mode make the difference? czcams.com/video/Z_5fTqCXsRQ/video.html

@Geister Schnitter no it does not, so you have to look for build in helmet audio.
@@carportmods I've done this on my Spyder F3-S. I used a couple of velco straps to hold a JBL Flip 3 bluetooth speaker to the center of my handlebar. The sound output was enjoyable up until around 60mph, at that point the music was washed out by wind noise. Its not a great solution but its cheap and sounds good enough for local cruising.

i really do appreciate your video but no way it can be that slow. the hp to weight ratio. I would be guessing at around 5.7-6.5 seconds. 7 at worse. but i do not know much or how good cvt's pull. i just know i would not like them in a car
There is probably one problem with the video and you may be right. It was not in sport mode. This weekend i will have rally edition and i will compare all bloody modes. Also i will compare it with TheBeast... 😉😉😉
@ i dont know what's going to be the outcome, but i had a ryker today and parked it in garage. I cant tell you, the feeling of 1330 engine with akrapovic is much different story than 900cc.

Guys, the speed we see on the display is not the real speed. You have to measure the GPS speed! The whole discussion makes no sense. My display shows more than 170 kmh on the german autobahn.

After many years i have purchased about 4 rykers for tour and rental agency and unlock them and loaded them, to make them according to my stadards... and i have to say its fun to rYde. I still preffer TheBeast - F3s that is badass upgraded and to be frankly soeaking, i think its bYke for anyone from 25 years old+.. its mean its badass 😉😉😉🤟🤟🚀🚀💯💯
The 600cc is a Rotax snowmobile engine with a CVT. The Ryker is shaft drive not chain. So not only do you lose 30% of power from the engine, but you lose even more with the shaft drive.
The 900 ACE is another snowmobile engine. CVT and drive shaft final. Same loss of power.
They're slower than any 6 cylinder family sedan sold in America. That's pretty bad.

Aaron, please as i wrote to comments. If you are from US they will perform slightly better due to EU CO2 restrictions that US models dont need to have. I recomend to give it a try at a dealer 😉😉😉😉
I think you got confused, the bike is already indicating the speed in mph, so the top speed is 128 mph in the 600cc and 148 mph in the 900cc

Honestly they are both pretty slow. I'm pretty sure a 250 2-wheeler would be faster, but these are essentially 600lb 3 wheeled scooters, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I'm not shopping it for me anyway, and my girlfriend has never had anything faster than this anyway, certainly not anything that squeals when you step on it. The 600 just has an unacceptably low top speed. I don't expect it to stick around long.

Yes you are right, the main purpose is somewhere else. I would buy it for my girlfriend to join me on my trips, as it is fully automatic and it has enought power for her plus its much lighter and easier to manevuer.
