- During a press tour for Age of Ultron, the Avengers actors were shown photos of each other's arms, and they had to identify which cast member they belonged to.
But everyone was surprised by the development of Robert Downey Jr’s biceps…
The picture of his arm is taken from a scene in Iron Man 2, where Tony is creating a new core for his reactor. Although Robert is very lean and slender, he does look really big at one particular angle, which is why the photo is so surprising.

Rdj is lean but that was all about the angles! It's actually his tricep thst makes the arm look bigger IMO

His arm doesn’t look all that big in the scene, it’s more about how lean he was and how developed that made his arm look. Evans arm looks way bigger in his helicopter scene for example, but he wasn’t very lean so you couldn’t see a lot of development. And when in isolation most people would consider a lean developed arm bigger or better looking then a big arm that wasn’t very lean as long as they aren’t directly side by side

He got pretty toned for all the Iron Man tank top scenes both in 1 and 2. He just didn’t bulk up like the Chrises, but he is leaner the Evans so the musculature looks more impressive when flexed even if it is smaller.
He is also significantly shorter than them, and the shorter you are, the easier it tends to be for your physique, musculature wise, to look more impressive.

Being big doesn't mean you can fight but being big helps with fighting because the bigger you are the stronger you are, yes you don't need to be a bodybuilder but if you think 135lbs Sean o malley a world champion is beating 250lb Tom aspinall you are beyond deluded. Bruce was cut and in great shape but also Bruce trained with weight training and a bunch of other methods as did rdj to get that physique it wasn't solely cus of wing chun and finally wing chun is not ideal for fighting whether in sport or self defense so just cus a guy does wing chun don't mean he a badass
