The Health care system in Ghana needs an over haul (especially the govt owned). There's no accountability in this sector. 7 years ago I lost my niece to sheer negligence of a junior nurse who was practicing without supervision. This quack nursing practices is not acceptable anywhere except in Ghana. The ministry of Health must start revoking licences and pin numbers. The public should start suing individuals responsible for poor practice. It's appalling the kind of training some of these nurses get. They cry for job placements but the quality of Care some provide is nothing to pay for. They don't explain treatment or seek for consent. They just jab you with injections and dose you with drips. No ability to provide evidence-based practice. I don't think some of them know or understand the principles of nursing or can state the Code of practice. Department of health must take this up.lots of these cases go unanswered.

Luck of work force is another major problem cuz those old nurses and old Doctors refuse to go on retirement, they want to be there till they die but not active as well.

I have been a victim of this negligence of our medical system before. The system is so bad and some of the medical personnel are so wicked. There's so much evil and corruption everywhere.

Do not say "some". MOST of them are, especially to their fellow ghanaians. They will pretend to be kind to a person only when monetary reward is involved. We take the name of the Lord in vain, are in church every Sunday and yet do not have the love of God in us nor have love for our neighbor.

I also observed some horrifying abuse of patients under the care of the SO-CALLED NURSES there.
Waakye not being given support overnight with simple things as using a toilet doesn’t surprise me at all.
Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any form of holding Healthcare professionals accountable in Ghana 🇬🇭

Ok , waooooo 4hrs no bed ! Now the rich people in Ghana should learn a lesson from these and start donating beds to the hospitals... we the citizens should start helping equip our nation... we must learn to do more charity for the hospitals. Government alone can't do everything. Most of the things you see in America are charity. People give! Rich men should stop buying cars for girls and use them for hospitals. Nurses in Ghana should have more sympathy for humans. Nurses please! Please! Please!.do your job! And stop! I'm a nurse! I'm a nurse! So what!??
