    So glad I came across this glove review! I'm a muay thai practioner but my style is also very punch heavy so I'm a big fan of puncher style gloves. I'm currently using the 16oz Fairtex BGV1s and I love their feel. But my only gripe is that since I'm a heavy puncher muay thai gloves don't give me enough adequate support for my wrists. Aside from these gloves, is there any other puncher style gloves would you reccomend that can could muay thai friendly?

    @keanan5360 Před 3 lety +1

    You mentioned you've had experience with the BGV9, have you tried the BGV14? Trying to decide between those and a pair of Reyes for my next set of gloves.

    • @combat_corp
      @combat_corp  Před 3 lety +1

      I do not own a pair of BGV14s HOWEVER I have seen them used by folks and most of the time I gather they are basically a microfiber version of the BGV6. They are a littler puffier as far as Fairtex goes and they have decent knuckle padding. BGV14s are also a microfiber composite so the cleaning process and upkeep will be a little easier. Also as far as price goes, Fairtex is cheaper too so if you are looking to save some cash and have pretty damn close as far as quality goes, I would honestly pick the Fairtex and see how they work. If they suck, hell I'll buy them off you and you can use it to try out Reyes. Reyes is one of my all time favorites but they have...changed a little bit. Fairtex has not changed what brought them to the dance.

    • @combat_corp
      @combat_corp  Před 3 lety +1

      And honestly if they are anything like the BGV11s, I think the BV14s would be a really good choice. I'd go with those and try them out. I wish I had a pair with ya to try them out to make it easier for ya my friend!

    • @keanan5360
      @keanan5360 Před 3 lety

      @@combat_corp Thanks for the reply! I'm considering the BGV14s because they have a really cool Japanese art design for them and they seem to be a good Mexican-style glove. Meanwhile I'm also considering Reyes to treat myself and because I know they become super nice after break-in.

    In the past I've ordered 16oz reyes gloves and up on weighing them, they both came out to over 18oz. Are the mx more accurate in weight?

    • @combat_corp
      @combat_corp  Před 3 lety +1

      I want to say they do for several reasons. Weighing latex can be a difficult process sometimes. Reyes is notorious for this as they try and match the weight naturally. I have a pair of 20 oz mx and I just weighed them upon reading this and they were 20.2 oz each so for ME it was right on just about. I have been super lucky with gloves weighing what they are supposed to weigh. Even my reyes weigh closer to 17 oz but other gloves are much easier to manage in weight. Memory foams, high density open cell foams, polyurethane foams are much easier to actually weigh because of the consistency that is produced. Though latex can be made beautifully, from my asking of different companies it is a little difficult to measure sometime.

    I recently purchased some Everlast Mx boxing gloves. I have to constantly check them for bacteria/fungus before use. I no longer feel safe wearing these boxing gloves. I owned multiple gloves and never had these issues besides these everlast Mx boxing gloves. All my gloves are water or sweat resistance and these for whatever reason end up with bacteria or fungus growing on the gloves over night. Does anyone have these issues? I have pictures and videos and overnight fungus growing.

  • @oakcakaya
    @oakcakaya Před 3 lety +1

    Glove is too stiff to make full fist and actually tires your hands while clinching. I used pro 10 OZ and training version of MXs, difference is huge in terms of how broken in. MX training gloves (16Oz) are like bag gloves, Most coaches don’t allow MX training gloves for sparring.
    Inner lining is like 50$ glove,
    The only nice thing about Mx is cuff paddings,
    Grip bar is not paddled and it feels like I am holding guitar strings :)

    • @Medium-RareSteak
      @Medium-RareSteak Před 3 lety +2

      I would say that if you are in the market for knuckle protection, these would pass, but certainly not to the extent of winning. It’s a molded foam that basically will mold to your knuckles and then bounce back into its original shape. They are excellent for feedback, but not sought after for their knuckle protection. And the fact that they’re Everlast shouldn’t frighten you, these gloves are really good quality. I’ve had my pair in rotation for like 2 years and they still feel really good

      ...wow that is a tough one.
