Black is everyone's favourite until it's a matter of skin colour...
Finally someone from Nepal is taking about it. Growing in Nepali society, sano ma I felt the same. Because ma dark tone xu, naramro xu feel hunthiyo. Thankfully growing up, i got sufficient info, confidence and self-esteem.
sabailai thavako kura nai ho . yo mugi le k nai naya kuro garya xa ra

i think next topic should be about obsession towards english sir and especially accent...
Literally yr.... nursery dekhi pelchan English aajkal ta school ma
Nice
We used to have this mock test where we we need to read a paragraph in a British or American accent back in school.
Many of us got scolded for not doing it properly.
Nepali schools are weirdd!
Agree
Also people nowadays saying "I don't know Nepali proudly" and trying to speak in English accents no matter how worse they are😑
Binayek seems like our elder brother who knows everything related to anything . And whenever he speaks can’t stop listening to the end. He has Clear understanding of things and have better way to make slow people like me understand even better in simple words .kudos to u dai !!!!
Thats because he does enough resarch which most of the people don't.
You're too good to be behind the camera Binayak.
Keep these videos coming!!!
As a brown person, the only compliment I got on my looks was “ paila bhanda alik goro bhayechhau”🤣🤣
😂😂
Us bro us😂😂
That's because you are brown not black 🙂
Proud of you brother!!
Topics like skin colour, beauty appearance, religion, cast should never be a way to judge a person!!
Mukh le bhanna matra suhaucha , bewahar ma kosaile lyako chaina.
This is one of the deeply rooted stigma in most parts of world. In my case, my mom is light tone and my dad’s dark toned. I’m gahu goro. When I was small, everyone used to say “thyakka baba jasto” which I knew they meant ugly. I dont blame them as we all grew up feeding goro is ramro stuff. I had this insecurity for a long time.
One thing that helped me is when one uncle commented “usko color ramro cha gahu goro “ . It was first time someone complemented on my color and it remains with me since then. After that I started feeling more confident. This all happened when I was a teenager.
That taught me the power of complement. We don’t give complements in Nepal often. We should do it more often. Maybe that will help someone get over their insecurity.
Why would you think ‘thyakka baba jasto’ meant Ugly? It can be just deep rooted inside you that you subconsciously think your dad is ugly because he is darker in colour. Your dad isn’t ugly just because he is darker in colour and Just ‘gahu goro’ doesn’t mean beautiful, even your dads colour is also beautiful. Every colour is beautiful. Sorry if I sound rude. Takecare
Loved the video and agree with it.
Like the other people over here have suggested, it would be great if the topic of the next video was regarding the superiority of English language and accent in our society.
No one is beautiful or ugly, we're born in a world of judgement ❤
No no no we are not in the world of day in judgement okay we are born in the world of freedom and love
Good luck with your dream land
chess ma ni first move white kai hune rule xa... anyways, also the difference between black and white is inspired by nature, where we relate bright sunny day to happiness and safe whereas cloudy day is perceived as dull, and dark nights are unsafe. In addition, as per perceived religions, Gods are depicted bright with light emitting from them, whereas evil is shown dark. Even in literature, we say dark spots in the moon, seto chandrama ma kalo 'Daag'.
I was thinking the same kala jadu 😂
“Durbar hatya kanda micheal jackson le gareko ho” DEDDDDDD😂😂😂
Great video! Well spoken and good researched❤️❤️❤️
sab ko pol kholdyo! with no mercy! aba bujera agadi badhne ki ignore garne hamro ichya! Hatsoff for challenging preconceived social norms and regulations!
Well talking about me, I am alikati white toned guy and people just used to complement me as a goro. I always used to prefer a little toned dark glossy skin in comparison to dry white skin on a women. Sooner or later the priorities itself are harmful and the concept of beauty can vary according to personal preferences. For me, skin color isn't a problem at all. However, talking about my partner or what I like leads to my choice by defult which can be either black or white. For me black just looks crazy good but I don't regret my or any other skin. I am happy that Mr. Kuikel brought something up that I have been talking for years. Many thanks!
Very much appreciated work. Genuinely this kind of social issues has to be addressed. Wish this video get widely viewed..
This is the actual power of education! This is what this generation needs to understand! This is how educated one speaks! Great going dai!

Excellent video! Next topic should be focused on the overuse of English words while speaking Nepali "use garne", "try garne", "like Esto k", "on/off garne" and using ENGLISH phrases in between NEPALI sentences to sound more confident and educated.

Well explained dai❤
I was born in Kshetri family and i was born with dark skin in spite of having a fair looking parents and sister and i was bullied by everyone and everyday for having dark skin and was considered ugly and that's not a theory thats my life and they destroyed my childhood.
kind of same for me bro ;(
Same for Me, but ignore those scumbags
we are too obsessed with white skin, white people and white culture. In order to live that aesthetic live that we see in different social media, we are just forgetting our culture and trying to adopt their culture. Remember, A person without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.
Not their tradition.😂😂😂😂😂 Their middle class culture is not bad at all. But no one tries to follow their traditions, almost no one. Even the recent christi converts.

Another commendable video!! Keep up the great work, guys!
On a bit deeper level of the ‘why’ - we, humans have always associated dark as the unknown (as at night) and light or ‘fair’ as safe (as during the day). We are instinctively programmed to believe ‘dark’ is bad. But this is not absolute since a toddler doesn’t know how to discriminate between a fair or a dark skinned person, necessarily. Our brain’s desire to take the ‘shortest path’ and our world/society’s obsession for a ‘lighter’ skin have both contributed to this endemic. Hopefully, we continue to have dialogues about this (including race relations) and this will all be thing of the past, one day.

And with Kpop Idols becoming the norm of the society especially amongst girls, fair skin is becoming more and more problem.
Hello dai I am huge fan of you and really happy to see your video after so long gap with nice content.. we want more content like this. And through this comment I want to address that michael jackson didn't change his skin colour to be popular he was diagnosed with a skin disorder vitiligo.
