Clone Wars Episode 12 FINALE Full Breakdown and All Easter Eggs

- The Clone Wars Finale is here and with it, this massive breakdown of all things missed, particularly, the ending...
Spoilers**
Vader's transformation is complete, and we see the lingering Anakin from within the black clad suit at the very end as he hold's Ahsoka's lightsaber. The ending was very heavy and moving, as was the rest of the episode. I feel I have more questions now than before I saw the episode. It would have been neat to see Anakin once more, but alas, this leaves George Lucas' creation of Revenge of the Sith untouched!

What was your favourite part of the finale to The Clone Wars?!
Star Wars Theory the ending scene
Theory please check my message on Instagram I have a question man 🙂
Btw my most favorite and the saddest part was when Ahsoka and Rex are talking about ,,killing" his brothers, really brought up tears 😖😖😖

Does anyone know the music he's using???

Can Disney just let Dave Filoni head the Star Wars franchise as a whole?
He's proven he cares for this universe.
George Lucas was actually brought in to help with ideas.
...and the universe cares for him !
@A Frustrated Gamer facts
We must grant Dave Filoni emergency powers
@A Frustrated Gamer SCRAP THEM! And let Filoni handle the TRUE sequels, if possible following from the legends materials.
honestly the story of Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one is the most tragic and heartbreaking story arc ever
I agree. What I didn't fully realize until after Revenge of the Sith is that the whole of the Prequel and the Original Trilogies were really Anakin's story, from his childhood to Vader finally turning back to the light side and into Anakin again. The OT, of course, was Luke's story, but the Prequels showed us it was his story overall.
ya, it is.
You mean that he falls because his girlfriend got knocked up? The only tragic thing about Anakin's story is that they told it. A better movie would not have had anything to do with Anakin Obi-wan or anyone really from the originals.
@@TakersMissy episodes 1-6 are all about Anakin.
Followed by maul's tragic story
The symbolism of Jesse’s helmet just hits so hard. The Republic’s war is over, all of the chaos that led to its downfall behind it.

Yeah and when vader is reflected in it its just so powerful like the war is just over just like that and the clones purpose is complete, they're making way for a new order

I can’t believe how effective these last few episodes were. Hearing obi wan say count dooku was dead, that he was going to utapau to find grievous. The meeting. These scene in mauls head. It’s so strange seeing and hearing all that from a different perspective. It hurt more I think because of how pure you see the clones in TCW and how we grew to love anakin even more. Knowing what he becomes in the end but just wishing he didn’t. Who knew a cartoon could be so beautifully and perfectly orchestrated to bring such emotion
Soon as Obi Wan said Anakin killed Dooku I KNEW it was over ☠️😖😩😫😭
Hopefully in the ahsoka series they will recreate flashbacks between anakin and ahsoka or in future projects see the anakin/ahsoka relationship in live action
or that in a future series while the events of episode 3 were taking place the attack of darth maul is mentioned
Ashoka: I don’t want to kill the clones. Yoda: decapitates every clone in sight
he was taken by surprised though
Well he was a Jedi for 900 years and they did destroy his order, no wonder he went a bit loopy there hehe!
Ahsoka not wanting to kill the clones felt inconsistent: force pushing a 2 ton door on them certainly killed some on them, as well as pushing them off the flight deck.
plus she released maul to cover her escape. did she think he was going to cuddle them into submission. she might as well kill them herself.
Thomas Becker She knew Maul would kill them and she knew they would all die when the ship was going down. She just didn’t want to be the one to kill them directly
riley woodhouse ahsoka knew about the chip, so she knew it was an order, whereas yoda believe the clones actually betrayed the Jedi
The part where ahsoka takes off rex’s helmet and a tear drops down his face got me, so deep
ZAK MUHAMMAD same..and then I couldn’t stop crying from there..Im just so sad..yet happy with how it ended

Does anyone else just want an hour long special with an alternate ending where Anakin is stopped before he turns evil and Palpatine is found out and destroyed? And then have everyone celebrating the clone wars being over and have Luke and Leia born and it end there. I’d love a short happy alternate ending.
We get a happy ending an animated series and 3 movies later

Javi B it was tup’s chip that malfunctioned but yeah
Order 66 hurts so much more when you think of the line,
"Loyalty means everything to the clones..."
It hurts so much more with this deus ex inhibitor chip bullshit. Clones' loyalty used to mean something, when they werent programmed to kill, simply obeyed the higher orders. Or didnt, as in some Legends stories is told. Clones could deny order 66 and some helped jedi escape. TCW took away even the possibility of that. Rex was the ONLY clone saved , apart from the few in Rebels later.
While its sad to see friends turn on friends on programming its more impactful when its choice. This is just one reason why I dislike how Filoni made Clone Wars more kid friendly than it needed to be. The series fits the Disney narrative, but it basically never fit the Expanded Universe.
Umm it was never confirmed that... pretty sure there’s other canon where clones helped their Jedi.
Grivehn okay I totally see what you are saying but I took it a different way. I think that the inhibitor chip thing makes the whole situation that much more painful and tragic because they didn’t have a choice. It is gut wrenching no matter what but the fact that Jesse has an amazing story arc about thinking about his orders and defying them just to have something that he didn’t have a choice in take away all of his work and progress, eventually leading him to his death. It is tragic and I think it just rubs in the fact that yeah, the Jedi lost, the sith won, and the whole galaxy will suffer because of it. I am not trying to start an argument but I am a hardcore TCW fan and I love every bit of it. Almost every bit, there are some arcs that aren’t too great, but yeah. LOVE IT!!!!
The Clones, and Jedi where pawns to Palestine's game. The Emergency Powers granted by the Republic senate, was legal. But the Senate was so broken, and out of touch with the people in the Republic. The Sith used that broken system to there advantage, and forced the Jedi too embrace there inner warrior.
In a way, it was like Darth Revan's story arch. A bunch of Jedi went to war, only to be forced to turn to too the Dark Side, and imbrace the war. This would turn the Jedi into warriors, and turn them all at once. It happened again, on a grandeur scale.
@@seanlloyd8136 Yeah, I see your point, it is tragic either way. And Sidious is that much more powerful in TCW for not even giving clones a chance.
And yes, I agree that TCW is a gem of Star Wars, all Im saying that, imo, if it didnt change upon existing canon much, there would be no argument about it.
Why is no one talking about rex nod to the fans when he says “I didn’t like being a commander all that much anyway “ that was such a beautiful underrated moment and had me completely geek out.

the moment I saw I yelled "Da Queen!"
I've always seen Anakin and Vader as different characters. But in that last scene, when we saw Anakin's eyes behind the mask, for the first time, I felt like I was looking at Anakin Skywalker and Vader at the same time.
They are separate entities, but in the same body, fighting for control. The visual storytelling here represents that Vader has assumed full control, and the small light of Anakin grows dimmer with the realization that another part of his past, Ahsoka, is supposedly been destroyed.
I contend that this is where Anakin really dies to Vader. When he sees Ahsoka again in Rebels, he's completely killed his connection to her. There's no Anakin until Luke brings him back
The whole Anakin and Vader are separate entities is just a metaphor and doesn't make any sense considering Vader told luke he was his father.I don't think he has a split personilty If Vader really believed they were different people he would've told Luke he killed Anakin or something like that.Vader/Anakin is just lying to himself and just takes on a different persona because it's the best way to try to forget his past but he never forgets and is always tormented.
@@Werewolf-tu4vi Incorrect. The canon lore has shown they are two distinct personalities and that is reiterated by Filoni. Vader himself acknowledges he resides in Anakin's body, but he claimed to be Luke's father not only for the trauma it would cause, but because he saw Luke as his possession, something to be owned because he literally created him. Whereas Anakin was selfless and willing to give his own life to save his son. Part of what separates them is their behavior towards Luke.
I felt the EXACT same way. I've had so much trouble grappling with feeling the tragedy of his downfall, but I truly felt it for the first time here and it was gut wrenching
This was the perfect ending to a near perfect show. Gave me tears. Can’t believe it’s over
Hjönk Hjönk Am Goose I mean there were some misses among the hits.
Hjönk Hjönk Am Goose for me it was very close to perfect.
NEAR!?!??!?!! TRAITOR!!
I'm sorry to say I didn't like it. They ruined star wars for me. Vader and anakin are a joke, their power sucks compared to what maul just did and I hate that because maul isn't that powerful an-akin should be not him. Also asoka was too powerful somehow when there are 30 clones she survives it all. If they wanted to compare it to revenge of the sith then their power levels should be the same as the other jedi maybe a little more, but not full on starkiller.
micah beach if you watch Star Wars only and Thor Skywalkers variation of this video they talk about why Ahsoka might of had an edge with Rex hesitating to execute the order.
Can disney finally understand now that if you hire people to make star wars media that actually understand it you get a masterpiece like the clone wars, the score, the atmosphere even how they ended it. Those last few episodes were perfection.
Man really hit me with how much Ahsoka did trying to not kill anyone, but none of it mattered when the ship crashed... 😢
Ashoka survived
The relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka is strong even as Vader he gave her respect and took her lightsaber no words needed in this scene
Not quite - it's clear he did recognize it. But it gives more meaning to the Rebels line "she survived". At this point Vader clearly thinks she is among the dead.
@@jkrolak7978 at this point vader is straight evil and was only reminiscing on what he thought was in the past. Maybe ashoka could change vader but not by rebels. He even blame ashoka for what he became.
@@jkrolak7978 Its also a mirror for both of their stories and what happened to them through the war. Both started out as Jedi, him her mentor, and at the end he ends up a Sith second in command of a dictatorship, believing she perished, but she got out of the grips of the Empire, and the fallen Jedi Order; to fight back in later years.
@@mario125ww Yes. I've been arguing with people in other vids about how emotional their matchup was in Rebels, and I said I only felt it from her side, as I had no sympathy for him. Perhaps CZcams isn't the place for subtle debate about such things, such as the response I got! :D

Legend
A cool thing to note: Maul wasn’t breathing heavy or showing strenuous effort during his escape. But rather being calm, cool and collected. Another sign of his power!
He looked like he was having fun wrecking them clones and destroying the Venator's Hyperdrive Generators. If the man has his saber staff then he would have for sure moved 80% faster as nothing would impede his advancement with his traditional weapon in hand. Really wish Maul had a back up saber in his vest or robot legs as a reinsurance incase he ever got truly captured. But honestly wish he had used a barrage of Force Lightning while bringing down the generators as I feel in his joy of chaos he would also feel an intense amount of hatred for being left to die as just another insignificant piece of Sidious's grand plan. But I'm still glad we got what we got 😎

“Things that never happend”
Let's all just appreciate and remember how many people hated on this series when it first started out as the cartoon movie, where it was constantly compared to the previous Clone Wars cartoon. And to be fair, the first showing was weak in a lot of areas. But by God, back when the series had passion from Lucas and it's creators, they only improved it over time, making one of the best cartoons imo. I remember waiting for I think Friday night for the new clone wars episodes when I was a kid and it was always a treat seeing one of my fav franchises grow even bigger and bigger. Feels like a true end of an era, with only Mandolorian s2 as our only hope.
when people criticized George, he often listened. He reduced Jar Jar's screen time because people didn't like him. He listened to fans. That may be why he decided to sell starwars, because so many people kept harping on him and he was tired. But I think we all see now we took him for granted. As a whole, any way. I liked the prequels, personally.
Same here, man this makes me feel old.
I seriously hope they will make the Obi-Wan series as well as the Mandolorian. If they mess it up, everyone will be so angry. I also hold some hope for the next Star Wars Movie as Taika Waititi is going to be in charge and he's a really great director.
So are we not going to talk about those droids who were helping on Ahsoka’s escape, that they got slaughtered and clapped by multiple clones without hesitation???
Clones are really good at killing droids
@Big Legends Yeah Star Wars has often bounced back and forth in the relationship between humans and droids. In the OT nobody really gave a shit about them or outright despised them. Even Luke sarcastically says hello when C3PO introduces R2 to him. Then in the new trilogy they weirdly brought a not famous at all yet R2 unit to see the Queen because it did it's job and fixed the deflector. Like the Queen is supposed to thank her toaster for making toast something. So yeah the general consensus is that organics really don't care about droids with a few exceptions, even Jedi. Obi-wan didn't give a shit about any of his droids and when they got destroyed he was more annoyed than distraught. Like someone just broke his PlayStation.
That was the most shocking death moment for me...

Obi wan leaves Anakin and his memories of him on Mustafar; Vader leaves the memories of Ahsoka on a snow planet. Balanced; as all things should be

And the fact that so many of the clones had their helmets painted out of respect for ahsoka is more heartbreaking

I like how Jesse hesitates. I also would like a seperate ark about Wolffe and Gregor during 66.
Well boys it’s the end of an era we where kids when it all began
Yessir
Yep. An end of an era.
Andrew Wallace facts facts crazy how that is
I was 17 freshman in college lol. Now I’m 30
I was in 10 in 2008 and now I'm turning 22. This series has been amazing to grow up with, idk about the new movies tho lol
I cried
I don’t know if I should be proud of that
We all cried, it's ok to cry...
But NEVER cry in front your woman
I just finished rewatching it and I'm crying more then I did the first time, I'm just crying my eyes out, those clones deserved better and the music is perfect very emotional
@Luke Yacono what embarrassing about crying about an emotional ending, of a show people clearly loved
Pancake pal 213 I just got emotional as it was the end of it all
EZNF 98 same i couldn’t stand looking at jesses helmet it was too emotional
The way you speak of the story is just beautiful man you go so deep into the characters feelings it's crazy
Now I can finally finish editing my Siege of Mandalore + Revenge of the Sith supercut!
I was also thinking about that, but then I realised it was damn near impossible to do right & the story after the execution of order 66 & the clonewars finale just wuould break the momentum of both installments
Obi-Wan: Let's just hope Anakin is ready for this responsibility.
Yoda: Ready, he is, to teach an apprentice. *To let go of his pupil, a greater challenge it will be.* Master this, Skywalker must.
-Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008)
@@jmedrano704 I think Obi Wan took Anakin before even taking his trials, unless defeating Maul qualified as his trials.. I'm not sure
even as Darth Vader, Anakin couldn't let go of Ahsoka. damn
Thomas Brockbank I’m pretty sure he passed his trials by defeating maul. Shortly after he speaks to yoda about how he promised qui-gon to train anakin, yoda mentions that he agrees with him being granted the rank of Knight but doesn’t agree with the training of Skywalker (although the council did approve of it)
@@BascarooMuffins Thanks man I knew it was along those lines
they just call knights masters once they are taken as their padawans there is no way obi wan was a master after beating maul he was still in his own padawan braid
That vader model was cool as hell
Dude, this series showed me everything I wanted... Misshapen palpatine, episode III in this animation, storm troopers, and even Darth Vader...
The way you described him walking away. Was so tear jerking 🥺 I love the passion you have for star wars. Insane.
I'll be honest, my feeling is that the final scene with Vader actually takes place in the SW:Rebels timeline, probably just before the Season 2 finale where Vader and Ahsoka realize the other still lives. I feel like Vader is digging around for information in response to reports that his Inquisitors have run into a powerful force user who matches Ahsoka's description.
What I noticed was that Anakin struggled slightly when he reached down for the lightsaber, almost like a blind old man trying to retain a precious possession.
Also, Jesse's helmet quite literally symbolizes the Republic. That's why the pan ended with Jesse's helmet.
Just realizing that battle droids were like barely even in this season except the first arc lmao
Well at this point they had all been shut down
@@mitchellhalvorson9719 not all, not even close.
TeCh ExPlOiTs im pretty sure when Order 66 was announced, all Droids for the CIS were shut down
TeCh ExPlOiTs Anakin was sent to mustafar to kill the separatist leaders and shut down all remaining battle droids
@@lunarian9877 separatist holdouts plus some commanders knew the shutdown command was a trap and did not follow the order.
I'm so glad I went back this series. I think this video on my feed made me go back to watch it. I never disliked Star Wars : The Clone Wars. I would just watch the same first three seasons because I would forget what had happened after not watching it for months. Finally binged everything front to back, and came right here. I'm glad I didn't have to wait so many years for the seventh season to air, but I definitely would have. Amazing content. Amazing cast. From VA's to writers and studio artists. May the force be with the future of this franchise
I was really upset that the clone wars ended without even one single reference to the 49 times Obi Wan and Anakin fought the Chicken Duck Woman thing.
“aw that’s rad!”
Huh?
@@DoomsdayHustle Yes, if Obi Wan taught us one thing, it's that we all have a Chicken Duck Woman Thing waiting for us in the Bushes of Love.
i can't wait to show my kids the star wars 6 movies and the clone wars. imagine being a kid watching the prequels and clone wars first, not knowing anakin becomes darth vader. how much more emotional would that be
Yea. Didnt think about that, already not knowing Anakin becomes Vader from just watching the prequels. But not knowing from watching the prequels and then the show where his character is explored way more, and then he turns to the dark side, that would be super emotional.
You should watch the ot first so that the “I am your father” twist is unexpected
It would ruin Empire
That was how I experienced the movies, and it was absolutely insane.
Check out the Machete order of Star Wars. It's the best way to show the full arc and avoid spoilers: IV, V, II, III, VI (then watch I, Rogue One, Solo, Clone Wars, etc.). www.nomachetejuggling.com/2011/11/11/the-star-wars-saga-suggested-viewing-order/
These last 4 episodes had a better story arc then the whole sequel trilogy
Yes
F A X
Evan Vanderwerf Yes
I want to give this many more likes
This is a genuine fact, wayyyy better than the sequels
Media: Toxic Sexist Star Wars Fans HATE Women uses Jyn and Rey as examples.
Fans: Asoka Story When?!?
Jyn was a good character I enjoyed her in rogue one but Rey was ruined by Kennedy
Nobody hates jynn though. Rey had potential she was just handled badly.
When "fans" can spell Ahsoka correctly.
I liked Jyn, imo it is the definition of a strong woman. She was pretty badass too
I liked them but last Jedi they really messed up that movie and then got pressured into revealing reys parents when they should have kept it a secret
The quality of the production is remarkable. Specially the smooth trace of the contours and the lighting, not to mention the music score.
R.I.P the droids who else felt horrible after the clones shot the 2 droids after they surrendered ☹️
Thanks for the likes!
I did
That was really brutal
Countyfrog 2118 same
I love astromechs so its sad seeing it
Countyfrog 2118 me
”Running away again Lady Tano” feels kinda weird now since he was the one who ran.
The Living Paradox yeah but maybe he was still triggered in Rebels when she didn’t join him to destroy Sidious 😂
The Living Paradox I think of it as when she freed Maul but then told him that she doesn’t want him to win and she ran off, that’s what I think it’s about
Who knows now since somethings wont make sense, rex didnt remove his chip willingly, wolf most likely killed a few jedi then somehow removed his chip, ahsoka still has 1 lightsaber since she had both when she escaped but dropped 1, but maybe this is why she didnt attack maul immediately and why he didnt attack her in rebels, cuz they kinda saved each other
Quoting palpatine here "ironic"
The Living Paradox well they were both running away however ahsoka ran away twice when maul ran towards his problems
That damned clone head at the end of the video makes me cry, looking back at how far we've come as a saga.
I mean, I feel like Maul thought about it for a second, then said "nah. They're only in this situation because they turned down my help." and yote himself out of there
Its obvious lmao, how can you say he feels regret when he prevented everybody and has been locked out for this
@@VincentMI9 I didnt say he regretted anything, I just said he thought about the whole situation, lol
@@legomancb12 i was okay with u and joking about what the guy in the vid said
Maul had nothing to regret since nobody trusted him, its not his fault
Rex killing his brothers: 😢
Finn killing his brothers: WOOOO!!
Reedime holy shit
*RRREEEEEYYYY!!*
But the first order stormtroopers were just co-workers rather than brothers to finn
Taco Tube Animations yeah but still
finn and the rest of the storm troopers by that point were all just recruits
also he hated most of them
I'm not sure what got me more: the final scene with the eerie ass music or Rex, FREAKING REX crying over what's happened and what he'd have to do.....man.
Cinderfeather But he doesn’t die, right?
@@optimus6374 Nah. He fights in the battle of Endor with the Rebel Alliance
This show ended so perfectly. Just finished a bit ago and I am speechless.
Happy to hear that your doing more watch parties in the future. Despite me not being at the clone wars one It was still amazing
That ending man, seeing Vader pick up Ashoka’s lightsaber and everything, it’s like at that point he knew he lost all hope in turning back to the light. Reminded me of the scene in Rebels when Ashoka breaks Vader’s mask and we hear Anakin. Both instances you feel this sense of regret which is just heartbreaking.
Got to admit for the most part I hate rebels but all episodes with Maul,Vader and Ahsoka are perfection
Hearbreaking for her, not for him. He does get redemption eventually however.
The last 4 episodes were like a different season compared to the rest. They obviously made the others as a filler to stretch the season out. The animation was phenomenal. The movement, the detail, character realism and action were perfect, as were the sound and music. And as for the story, it shows why we are so disappointed with the films. It was perfect.
See, I thought they were just a filler at first. But I recon the first were to show the humanity in clones and how they care about one another. Then the rest about Ashoka were obviously just tying in from where she left the Jedi order.
@@Levkin Yea I agree
The other arcs were pre written. I'm pretty sure the last one was mostly new.
The first few were really poor I thought, they seemed to be a wasted opportunity to show to different aspects of that crucial part in the story. I was wondering if she would find out about Anakins children.
Yes I was thinking the same thing. Those episodes was so good
I was just a youngling when this all started, this show literally grew up with me... these episodes just hit different and feel like a conclusion to my childhood of star Wars
My brother was so excited for this, and even said “my childhood has ended !“’ guess he’s a grown up now ....oh no wait he’s 15
Dude that’s literally identical to me, I said the same thing and I also just happen to be 15
Said the same thing.
I'm 30.
The last 3 minutes is some of the most perfect storytelling ever. No words needed, just beautiful score and visuals.
I was 6 when the clone wars started in 2008, I'm 18 now, 12 years I've been a fan and I'm honestly really sad. How can a fictional story be so moving... I don't know... I just was in tears. One of the best animated series ever 😢
I was the same age when the series came out. I have choppy memories of my parents taking me to see the Clone Wars movie and how I became obsessed with Star Wars as a result. While others grew up with the main Star Wars series, we grew up with the Clone Wars and I honestly couldn't ask for anything more.
@@josephgallagher02 Same here man. We grew up with this. This was the show that got me into the Star Wars Fandom. It showed me an epic universe that I fell in love with. Let's not be sad because it ended, let's smile because it happened (some quote I read lmao). Good memories don't fade and let's Cherish these moments. Keep it 💯. Have a good day and lets hope the next star wars movie doesn't disappoint.
Cheema_ Chops honestly feeling depressed it’s all over 😂😂 now we’ll get a series with Ewan mc Gregor, so hopefully all good for Star Wars
I remember watching the first episode live on Cartoon Network in 2008, I was 9 years old!! Bro I cried a lot during this last episode it was just so emotional.
im exactly like you, 18 right now, growing up til ep 1...been an emotional wreck the whole week, actually always since the prequels made me cry like nothing else. I notice this story really sits inside my person and it gave me so much life force these days. im really really inspired by it
The Quality was PERFECT
Man I love going on this Star Wars ride with Star Wars Theory. Content is great as always n it's been nice sharing my passion with this community. Keep up the great work
I’m Batman
Martyn Phillips they could at least add the other cut episodes sometime in the future
I know we’ve already seen it, but I would’ve loved to have seen the clone wars version of anakin vs obi wan. Yes we all know how it ends but that’s what the end of clone wars should’ve been imo. That said, I still loved those last 3 episodes of season 7
I honestly don’t know what else to do now during this whole quarantine. There’s now a void in me knowing it’s all over.
Beautifully put. My sentiments exactly.
We all want more.
I think we should have a mini series called “7567: A Star Wars Story” that explains how Rex find Gregor and Wolfe and how their chips are removed and just how they end up where they are.
This would be so amazing
I'd be down with that
Dave, make it so.
We need more early empire stuff. I want to see the fallout from order 66 and the formation of the empire
Gavan Baxley is there any canon Knowledge on how those two removed their chips ?
As much as I completely agree with the logic that ahsoka left her lightsaber in order to shed a part of her now hidden identity, I have to admit I hope it was more than that. Like that she left it with the intention of vadar finding it, to tell him she was ok and still loved him. I think this would also explain why she only left one of them.
Yeah I don’t understand how people think she left it make her look dead. All the helmets were in one spot and all bodies underground. Vader knew she was alive for the moment
