  • Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have so many aspirations in 2024 it's hard to keep up. Oregon Football expects to win the Big 10 in its first season. Oregon football also expects to win a national championship as well. Oregon has a loaded football team but they will have a new quarterback. In fact, they will have two new quarterbacks with Oklahoma's Dillon Gabriel and UCLA's Dante Moore. Whoever wins the starting job will have big shoes to fill. Bo Nix threw 45 touchdown passes and completes 77 percent of his passes. But if Gabriel earns the job and Oregon football rises to the top of the Big 10 and the college football world, might he also lock down a Heisman Trophy? We will discuss that here.
    While we are talking about transfer quarterbacks, the Big 10 has a couple with two different stories. We will look at the scenarios that brought quarterback changes at Ohio State and Michigan State.

    Bo Nix was an upgrade, but Dillon Gabriel is a better QB than him in my opinion. I have a feeling we have a chance of winning the NATTY next season, and I hope we do. We’ll soon find out if Gabriel is a hiesman candidate after the game against Ohio State this year when they come to AUTZEN STADIUM. I have that circled in my calendar. If we beat them, then we’ll know if Oregon is ready to compete nationally. But still, many football games to be played.

    Dante Moore came to Oregon with the expressed intent to sit out 2024 and work on his development. Dillon Gabriel will be the starter. It’s unclear whether Moore will redshirt this year or be the back up QB. Unless his development is quicker than expected he will probably play in the allowed 4 games and not use up his redshirt year.

    And people might be surprised Dante Moore could prove he is the better option no matter what last year looked like for him as well as no matter where Gabriel may sit statistically and it being his last season lanning loves to bring the best out in his players so he brings in top level competition to bring it out and develop his players that's why it's Oregon ducks VS themselves

      @user-ji3me2lt1h Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@jimedick9496 that's what the problem was we didn't get the pressure on him and then we end it both the same way with us shooting ourselves in the foot then try to fight the clock that second game if we had 20 seconds we could have been able to take that game and the first game take the Xtra points and play smart poised football that should say something about everything to the ducks didn't play there complete game they struggled making mistakes and both games we still about won them lost by three in both,so if Washington played to the best of there ability it clearly wasn't enough or they used there one completeness for the wrong team cause penix is horrible at scrambling in n out of the pocket he got owned by Michigan and so did that entire dog nation

    When the Big Ten brought in the west coast Universities, they brought in two programs, one the long time west coast flagship program and the new sheriff in that conference. You look at how well these two programs have faired against the two titans of the Big Ten in the past. Oregon has played Ohio St & Michigan at their cribs and beat them. Playing these games at Oregon where OU is so hard to beat would you expect the outcomes any differently?. What happened when Ohio St. played the last home & home vs, USC? You look at how well Ohio St. & Michigan have faired the mid-60s on, they each may have beaten USC once or twice in all those years. Everyone keeps saying its about the weather and wait until those west coast wannabes go back in the midwest in October-November? Have you ever been to Oregon, Washington, Utah and Colorado during those months? Don't think for a minute USC & OU don't know playing in snow & freeze...... they know it well! USC & OU have the coaches now, and they have the money for NIIL to compete with anyone. I give USC another year of development to start competing hard in the Big Ten. OU is ready right now. Washington & UCLA are just along for the ride when it comes to football and might show up every so many years being formidable.

    How come all of the former Pac-12 teams only rate 1/2 the size pennant in the background? Being that Oregon only is getting a partial share in revenues in the Big 10, maybe you can throw the Ducks a bone with a 100% pennant (along with the other 3 Pac-12 Teams" How sweet it will be if a former Pac-12 Team wins the Big 10.

      Nothing. To do with distance.

      A school that spends more on sports than research isn’t a big 10 quality school.
      Big 10 lowered themselves to go slumming with Oregon because they wanted Washington, should have told Washington too bad if that’s the case

      @@lordrayden3045you have no school yet say all of this 😂. Oregon just dumped a billion dollars into a new science research facility, and by all counts fit Big 10 criteria. It’s not oregons fault they lost their medical school when it became independent, and frankly it’s horseshit to claim Oregon is a lackluster school. Nebraska isn’t AAU yet is still in the big 10.
      Be mad because Oregon spends more on sports because their alumni actually were successful in a field that not many other schools in the big 10 could even produce in any industry.
      Cry more, cry harder, attempt to distance yourself from a conference you don’t even have an affiliation too because you feel you’re higher and mightier than others because what, a juggernaut in sports funding and branding is joining a bullshit academic conference? Half of these big 10 schools aren’t even close to the numbers in exposure and brand recognition yet they’re in because they’ve been in forever.
