💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the 🔔 for more videos!

I think you should take the Oreo cookie left over side and dip them in milk chocolate with mint flavor. They should be identical to Girl scout cookie ...
Putting any of your cream drops in the middle of the plain cookies an covering it with chocolate. The combo’s would be endless .

For the same taste as Girl Scout mint cookies you use Ritz crackers and use mint chocolate chips.I make these during the holidays. They have been a big hit for many years.

Absolutely loved having Terry share her knowledge with us about the family and business history and old photos. I could have looked at photos all day if you had them. I love that Steve and Terry are trying to preserve family tradition. Fathers teaching their children a trade is such a blessing.

Nice to give Terry a gift, but if they allowed her to post her website on here they would be overrun with people doing same ! Not a good idea ! You just don’t do that ! Terry pays big bucks to have her website, order forms, her videos etc., done professionally so no one should be so rude to add theirs !

Please, please, please make dark chocolate honeycomb or sea foam. A lot of candy makers are not making it anymore and it’s my favorite candy and it’s a great candy to watch people make.

The oreo tops crush up and put in strawberry ribbon candy. Or crush up and mix with butter and sugar to press into molds for mini pie crusts and fill with chocolate.

Have you thought about doing peanut butter cups but using white chocolate instead of milk or dark chocolate and instead of peanut butter, using caramel BUUUUT also using the pumpkin spice in the chocolate? That would be so delicious! Ooorrrrr, caramel smothered in coffee flavoured white chocolate! 🤤

The cookie part of the oreo is like a teddy grahm. They go stale in like 5 minutes if you leave them open. They really like to absorb moisture out of the air.
You could use the tops from the Oreo’s and dip them in a chocolate mint. That would be so good.

The chocolate episode of I Love Lucy when Lucy and her friend tried to work on a assembly line at a chocolates factory. That part of the episode where the two of them had to box the chocolates is considered one of the all time funniest scene on TV. I think it is tied with Carol Burnetts Siamese Elephants sketch.
Pretty sure they were # 1 and 2 and number 3 was Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s on First”, and number 4 was when Norton addressed the golf ball on the Honeymooner’s. If you ever get a chance, you should really see all four of those videos. They are hilarious and you will laugh till your side hurts. They just don’t do comedy like that anymore, unfortunately.
That episode of I Love Lucy aired Sept. 15, 1952 so the 70th anniversary is coming up. You could put that leftover Oreo cookie on top of the peanut butter cup filling and then add chocolate on top.

A couple of ideas that I use for oreo lids is either dip them in white chocolate (it gives a similar effect/taste of double stuf). Or do an oreo bark in white or whatever chocolate you prefer.

I’d think Oreo Makers should be thrilled about free publicity on such a popular show ! I remember Terry buying off brand years ago ! Think store has no Oreos left ? I’d don’t think with added ingredients you could tell the difference!

You could try putting them in the enrober the other way round so it runs down the edges instead of dripping off the sharp larger edge if that makes sense x

The left overs are great if you crush them up and roll a scoop of ice cream in them. You put them back in the freezer on a cookie sheet then you can individually wrap them for a treat any time you want one.

I have an idea. What if you use 1 of your peanut butter cups, that you used to fill with caramel, and put 1 of the small salted pretzels in it & then just fill it in with chocolate? You wouldn't have to cover the whole thing again. So less work & less chocolate. I think the slight taste of salt with the peanut butter cup would be awesome. Sounds interesting. : )

I remember when they moved from basement to shop it looked like a huge space now looks like they are running out of space! Come a long way and added so many other different candy and things are hard work for them Used to be just Steve,Terry and Max , Karen did the packaging in a room not much bigger than a closet! Craig started filming them to put on UTUBE and now look how they have grown ! Both daughters have joined them Cara especially has learned to do everything ! Craig sometimes helps out ! Karen just works part time , everyone loves to see her !

MAYBE U SHOULD USE SOMETHING TO KINDA LIKE ACT LIKE A GLUE LIKE A THIN LAYER OF MELTED MARSHMELLOW FLUFF OR MELTED PEANUTBUTTER OR MELTED CHOCOLATE AND INSTEAD OF PUSHING LET IT HARDEN ON ITS OWN. JUST A SUGGESTION

How about Doing the stacking? in a assembly line like using small amount of melted chocolate to stick together someone puts chocolate on the Oreo pass it on to the next guy he puts peanut butter cup on that and pass it back to him to put more melted chocolate instead of squeezing the Oreo and peanut butter cup?

Maybe you could use the same technique that you use with the hard candy and brush some water on the cream sides to stick them together so you wouldn't have them explode .
Well the water trick works with hard candy, but not chocolate
I think it may be easier for Steve to cover them if you glue them together with a brush of hot sugar? You wouldn't need to squash them together and they wouldn't fall apart then

The hand dipped candies are better bc the chocolate is thicker then the enrober candies.

You do not need an oxygen absorbers if vaccum sealing jar, only if you use a Mylar bags, which many folks don't vaccum seal. Also, using oxygen absorbers will not vaccume seal a jar, no matter how many you use, they absorb oxygen only, they do not create a vaccum, but furthermore... why would you even consider using oxygen absorbers in a jar, when you obviousy can vaccum seal them without for storage....oxygen absorbers are not cheap, and they will degrade easily if not applied properly and will render them useless.

She is a commercial artist and she kicks butt! That stick that you referred to? That is a paddle that they've been stirring candy with forever and a day long before you ever born! You should put the Oreo ends that you don't use for the caramel cups into a food processor to make it a powder consistency and then put it in the creams so that no crumbs will stop the funnel up.

I’ve been watching for little over three years there candy is some of the best I’ve ever had if not the best the brittle is out of this world good the mango creams literally must come from dreams or something but I do think it’s time for a theme song entry song?
As an aside to Anami (sp!) is there a temperature control in the candy rooms so that results are also controlled? Before making the oreo peanut bombs in the bottom of the mold put the chocolate in the mold then the oreo with cream let it cool and then the peanut butter and then top it with the chocolate and then after it cools add the other oreo and cream then cover it in chocolate.
