    Great information brother, not a lot of guys/mechanics would “not”recommend items from the holy grail brand. But glad someone is providing real world feedback.

      i love snap-on, 100% my first choice of tool. but every brand has their good tools and bad tools. i think it’s good to acknowledge that not every brand is perfect

    I bought the Snap On solder iron also. Thought it sucked. Told me dealer. He gave me whole new kit and said they this one and I have to say it works like a charm. Get way hotter than first one I bought. Possible quality control issue. I know it's made for snap on by portalsol. But bang for the buck agree the capri and the powerprobe at half the price are the way to go

      my coworker bought his the same time as i and he got his warrantied as well for not getting hot enough. my capri does well, but i’ll probably pick up a power probe to have as well

    Agree about the wobble-plus, but I do like the 1/4" regular wobble extensions.
    I went to Knipex for snap-ring pliers, like them much better than those Snap-on.

    • @TxToolGuy
      @TxToolGuy  Před rokem

      i’ve heard good things about the knipex snap ring pliers. i considered them but after trade in and promo i got my snap-on set for like $110

      Yeah i got the whole knipex snap ring set on sale for like 130 last year on amazon.

    The snap On soldering iron is trash just like you said does get hot enough and constantly needs to be refilled.

    • @TxToolGuy
      @TxToolGuy  Před rokem

      yep, works well for small wires but my issue is also the heat. i’ll probably pick up a power probe soon

    I got the Snap-On locking wobble extensions, my favorite for wobble extensions. But the price is kinda high.

      yes you did! they contacted me and asked if i’d like to do it so i said sure and then just talked them and answered some questions. it was just a fun little feature

    I think the only tool I ever really hated was a Snap-on 14v screwdriver. I got it as an apprentice toolkit. Sold it on eBay and bought a Mac 12v that i absolutely love.

    • @TxToolGuy
      @TxToolGuy  Před rokem +1

      14v stuff is hit or miss. we’ve had this talk lol, i love my 14.4 stuff (excluding CT861) and never had an issue. but i’ve also heard horror stories. Mac 12v/20v is hard to beat. especially with the dewalt cross platform

      If there was Makita in tool trucks, that's be game changing. their xgt line is awesome from what I've seen on TTC. yes 40v vs 18v, also know some are hit and miss. Still would be cool to see it

  • @_P0tat07_

    Agree with the wobble plus. It’s a pain in the ass when you want the wobble feature and it decides to snap into the straight position. I’d rather get regular extension sets and one or two locking wobble extensions
    Not a huge fan of the stubby bluepoint hex/torx sockets. They seem a bit soft.

    • @TxToolGuy
      @TxToolGuy  Před rokem

      yeah the wobble plus from snap-on is a let down. it seems to do the opposite of what you need lol

    I like wobble but not wobble plus..got that belt tool to from Matco , haven't used it enough to say I hate it , but give it time 😂..got the Matco rechargeable solder iron seems ok , but I am sure for smaller wires..probably not super hot..always nice to hear opinions on tools ..Thanks.

  • @ColonelEman
    @ColonelEman Před rokem

    I have that soldering iron too... can't stand it man, too inconsistent and really doesn't get that hot. Probably going to end up buying the milwaukee iron, more consistency from the electricity and it will heat up much faster, i also like how the milwaukee can flex and the tip seems longer.

    I have that stretch belt tool and the soldering iron, both are absolute hot garbage. To be fair I’ve only tried the belt tool on air compressors on school busses. Probably not meant for that style of pulley. But that snap on soldering tool is up their with the old snap on vise grip pliers. Terrible tools.

    • @TxToolGuy
      @TxToolGuy  Před rokem

      i’ve used the stretch belt tool on fords and chevys for ac belt and for regular drive belt on newer chevys, so the outside of the pulley, and either way it sucks. the magnetic doesn’t hold well

    • @TxToolGuy
      @TxToolGuy  Před rokem

      i’ve had the same experience in 1/4 and 3/8. but either way wobble plus sucks lol. now Ko-Ken wobble plus are significantly better, considering they invented it

  • @collisiontech_nick399

    I bought some Mac scrapers that really suck. They looked ole they would be good but nah.

    • @TxToolGuy
      @TxToolGuy  Před rokem +1

    Wobble plus doesn't give me enough wobble sometimes, but does stay in the locked place for me. The retaining clip pliers I've been looking at, they work for what I need, but I feel like there's gotta be a better design. My puck lights need a replacement,cas well as my pwz, anyone wanna trade me for a knipex cobra?

    • @TxToolGuy
      @TxToolGuy  Před rokem

      so the snap-on retaining clip pliers in the video, i love those. i traded my matco ones in for the snapon, night and day difference. i just didn’t have the matco for this video. and my wobble plus never stays in the locked straight. idk might need to warranty it and try again
