Chuck's got a great point. Embiid's demeanor after the game showed a loser's attitude. Complaining about things that should or shouldn't happen in the game, head down, instead of thinking about the next games where they would still be hosting the Knicks. Nurse and the Sixers complaining about the officials ignoring the timeout calls. When Maxey was on the floor, he did NOT have possession of the ball, and therefore no timeout couldâve been called.
At least Embiid and Nurse are on the same page this time. Two years ago, when Nurse complained as head coach of the Toronto Raptors during a first-round series against Philadelphia, he thought Embiid got too many calls. Also, he could've won this game with one of the basic basketball elements - boxing out. Look at him in that last sequence.
Kyle Lowry, the vet, shouldâve called timeout as soon as he touched instead of wanting to rush it and inbound it. Nick Nurse, champion coach, shouldâve called as soon as the ball went into the hoop. Nurse finally called timeout as soon as Maxey hit the ground and tossed the ball. MSG is the loudest arena in the world. There was a shot clock violation where watching it at home, you couldnât hear the horn go off. If youâre nick nurse, you gotta sprint to the ref to get their attention. Knicks in 5
