    This could have been the most useful and thorough of all the Börner V5 videos - except the photographer kept the camera on the chef’s head and didn’t show us what we need: his hands snd the mandoline! How frustrating.

    The camera should have focussed a bit down so that one could have seen how he placed the vegetable on the holder and how he actually used and configured the device. As things stand, you only hear him talking - for the most part.

    Tim's the best English speaking presenter when it comes to demonstrating the Borner v slicer. I also love his old video using the first borner v slicer many years ago. He's very good in the videos; clear demonstrations, unfortunately the camera in this video needs to be more focused on his slicing action rather than on his face.

    • @TnevansltdCoUk
      @TnevansltdCoUk  Před 8 lety +4

      +rustymouse Hi, Many thanks for watching. The V1(white) and V3(off white) are the similar but the V1 is slightly newer in design - it has a curve to follow the natural drop of your hand in use but they both provide the same service ie. Thick and thin slices, large and small julienne (10mm and 3mm) and large and small dice. Storage caddies or boxes are an add on extra for these models.The V5 comes in 4 different colours ( white, orange, green and red) This model gives 4 different thicknesses of slice, large and small julienne (7mm and 3mm) which also give a large and small dice. Note the large Julienne is slightly thinner than the V1, more a french fry rather than a steak chip. This model comes with a storage caddy or box which clips to the rear of the machine making it free standing. The plain slide also goes into a safe mode which acts to protect the blade in storage. Please do feel free to check out our website for more information at www.tnevansltd.co.ukI hope that helps youRegardsT N Evans Ltd

    • @Rustymouse
      @Rustymouse Před 8 lety +1

      +T N Evans Ltd just read on the Borner website, you can use the safety insert on the V6 as a medium slicer, which is good. I do not know how that works though as I thought this insert was level with the blades. Interesting...

    • @TnevansltdCoUk
      @TnevansltdCoUk  Před 8 lety +1

      +rustymouse Hi, No problem a pleasure to help.The V6 is a stainless steel version of the V3 but it has a smaller large Julienne blade so smaller chips 7mm not 10mm. It does come with a blade protector though and the reverse of this is a medium slice. Thus you have 3 thicknesses of slice. Also it comes with the storage caddy or box. Happy slicing! Regards T N Evans Ltd

    • @Rustymouse
      @Rustymouse Před 8 lety +2

      +T N Evans Ltd Thank you once again, you have been a great help in clarifying all of this. Have checked and there is a 10mm insert as an extra for the V6 for chunky chips etc which is excellent. . Have decided to go for the steel one with the extras. Phew my head was going round in circles until you explained things. All sorted...

    He failed on the tomato part... He just pushed it away and hoped the camera man didnt see (speaking of the damned camera man FOCUS ON THE DAMNED SLICER FUCKER JEEZ...). It kind of sucks too because that seems to be the number one complaint about mandoline slicers. That the blades arent sharp enough to cut tomatoes

    • @TnevansltdCoUk
      @TnevansltdCoUk  Před 7 lety +1

      Many thanks for your input Mocha Tater Please note that the Borner Mandoline slices a ripe tomato perfectly thick or thin and also dices it as well. The Borner is fabulous at this job. You can see this on our 'V1 Your Questions Answered' video on this channel. Apologies about the sound being out of sync on that one. You are quite right in that most mandolins are unable to tackle Tomatoes especially if they are ripe the exception being the Borner. Happy Slicing. Regards
