- Join Origins host Ray Heiple as he welcomes, Dr. John Whitmore for, “Genesis and the Grand Canyon.” As a freshman geology major, Dr. John Whitmore struggled with how to reconcile what he was learning in his geology classes with the account of Noah’s Flood. After examining the evidence for himself, he discovered three important things about Grand Canyon geology that convinced him that Scripture was true.

Excellent! We're privileged to have Dr. Whitmore as part of our river guide team at the Grand Canyon every year. He has some amazing insight and teaching!
Excellent content... Thank you
I stongly beleive that he beleives.
*_God Bless_*
There will be some that will argue the truth.
God is amazing .
Thanks for highlighting people working hard to show the truth, would be nice if you would give references to there work as well. Where to find them and possibly there channel
Well done
Can any of you who condemn this video give any evidence that supports your belief. Thank you for making this video that supports the beautiful truth.
YES BUT YOU WILL NOT BEAVE IT OR WONT TO FACE IT
If he can explain where all the water sufficient to cover all the earth including Mount Everest came from and went away to then I’ll understand the “Flood” as a proven fact, not as a belief. Believing has never been knowing, and much of the Bible is not just obsolete, it’s downright evil in our modern civilisation and should be banned. There is a proven fact to explain why not just Christians have a flood myth, which is it’s not a myth, it’s an ancient memory of sea level being at least 100m lower at the end of the ice age due to water being locked up as ice and snow and gradually melting, and still in progress now. One of many proofs is that there are remains of habitation under the North Sea from when it was dry land. Besides any God which thought it an appropriate punishment to wipe all humans and land animals belongs in HMP Broadmoor (UK Criminal Lunatic Prison). Why were the fish and the whales dolphins sea otters etc excluded from the punishment? It’s all absolute rubbish 🙄😂😂😂
@@markmerry1471 Nice Avoidance. If this is not true. Where did the little Colorado river put billions and billions of cubic yards of dirt. Where did it go?? I know Trillions of tons of water rocks trees were pushed into the gulf of California into the pacific ocean. The world wide flood is being proven all over the Globe. New evidence’s everywhere. There is freedom in Jesus.
A real geologist can punch too many holes in this.
💯❤️🔥💯
Read “Grand Canyon A New Paradigm”.
I heard, the dinosaurs played with the children of creationist but
they didn't survive this. I mean the dinosaurs. Now there are no more
dinosaurs. The creationist children are responsible for extinction of
dinosaurs. Unbelievable! I think the other way around would be better.
But someony say:
"The Bible is a manual for building a happiness machine."
Keep crafting!
Dealing with religion is dealing with insanity.
🤪
I respectfully submit that the Genesis flood report scientifically provides us with little or close to nothing in the way of explanation with respect to the Grand Canyon.
Dr. Whitmore may be a great paleontologist, but his geological opinions are quite misguided.
"The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They (the athiests and evolutionnists) are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." Psalm 14:1.
Is he off his meds?
Typical of the pseudo science evolutionary community, they condemn with out critique. They offer no counter or evidence. If I knew nothing about the subject (Genesis or geology) and only had these comments by which to form an opinion I would have to conclude that critics were afraid to engage in meaning debate.
You shouldn’t lie
When you start with Genesis as a given, you discredit yourself as a scientist.
Day is not the same as 24 hours, not in the past and not today.
The earth is not about 6,000 years old and the Bible does not teach this. Hebrews 4:9-10: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." This tells us that the 7th day has not ended. Thus day 7 is a long time span, thus day 1 to 6 must be a long time span. Each believer are to enter into day 7. Also there no "evening and morning" for the 7th day. As day 7 as not ended. Biblical Hebrew has a limited vocabulary, with fewer words compared to other languages, such as English or Spanish. This means words often have multiple meanings determined by context. Day - yom is commonly rendered as day in English translations, but the word yom can be used in different ways to refer to different time spans thus literally is:
Sunrise to sunset
Sunset to next sunset
Time period of unspecified length. (long time span ).
We use the word day the same today: In my grandfather’s day cars did not go very fast.
Deuteronomy 33:15 and Habakkuk 3:6 "ancient mountains".
Gen. 2:4 “in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens”
The events of day 6 can not have happened in 24 hours.
Have you entered into the 7th as Hebrews 4:9-10 asks you to?
Creationism does not equal young Earth. There are many Old Earth creationists.
The great unconformity, commonly known as the great I dont know
It does not conform to uniformitarianism.
What an example of collosal ignorance.
What do you mean?
If there is one story that disproves the Bible, it's Noah's Ark.
Explain?
Quite the opposite. Search for Walt Brown Hydroplate Theory on here. Also search for the Expanding Earth Theory - which is what the scientific community call the Hydroplate Theory. Tectonic Plate Theory is wrong and was adopted by consensus because no one could face the Expanding Earth Theory.
@@jedg4746 Dude,, It's a silly myth. Don't tell me you fell for that nonsense?
If so, you are a joke, and have a nice day.
How does Noahs Ark disprove the Bible? You do not give an explaination.
@@user-jc4wy6eb3p Yes, I did,, go back and read my second post.
Is this "science" or continuing propaganda?
In science you start with a conclusion and then try to figure out if that conclusion is possible, if there is slight possibility than it is possible. Just like Darwinism if there is a possibility then it’s possible, but nobody on either side will ever have enough prove to say for sure how old anything is if we were not there to observe it
@@BrockJamesStory
Wrong,, Evolution is both a fact and a theory. It also has been observed in the fossil record and in real-time.
There is no other side.
Where do you get your science information from?
@@benjamindover5676 the same place as you, books written by men you’ve never met about things that happened before you were born. Much like the Bible.
@@eenzamevriend7183 That really doesn't make much sense.. Maybe a typo?
But remember, a Judge and jury don't need to witness the crime to convict a person of the crime. They go on the evidence presented to them.
Scientists make the best conclusion based on the evidence. They are willing to change their minds whenever the evidence points to it.
The religious have what they believe is all the answers and would never change their minds.
The first is most often right and the latter is always wrong.
Which part of the fossil record shows an evolving from one species to another?
Garbage
