A proper Adrian Lewis comeback - and by proper I mean getting back into top 8, major finals, premier league etc etc , not just scraping into the top 32 and making the occasional TV appearance like RVB - is the best thing that could happen to darts imo. Adrian Lewis and Gary Anderson are the most satisfying players to watch when they're in full flow.
Maybe if he start drinking again before games, otherwise no chance xD

Phil was ahead of his time but let’s face it there will be better players. No win will probably get to the amount of titles he won because the competition wasn’t as good back then. Van Gerwin is arguably a better player than Phil was, highest average in a match, most 9 darters in history etc, those are what really show whose the bests titles is unfair as their from two different eras, darts has taken off and the competition is insanely higher now. It’s probably risen more than any other sport as it wasn’t even globally played professionally like it is now

Adrian lewis was my favourite player to watch between 2010 - 2014 such a shame his career went downhill so fast because he was supposed to be mvg's biggest rival but thzt never happened unfortunately, he should never had slowed his throw down and changed his grip of the dart.

@@oogabooga2337 I know he was flying back to back world titles plus another couple of majors and other tournament wins on a regular basis 9 darts left right and centre then all of a sudden he slowed his throw down, changed his grip and dropped off completely which was such a shame.

You cannot compare todays players with Them Days when Dartboards were not so good in the days of
Jocky Wilson and Eric Bristow with the staples around doubles and trebles and bullseye in the boards which them early days had many also bounce outs because of such
Them guys on form could take any top player today THIS if they were playing on dartboards which the trebles and doubles
on todays boards are that slight bit more larger as are now without them dreaded large staples in which they had in theeir
days on the oche to contend themselfs with often .
So no comparison with todays players who have easier and better dartboards and also had in Phil Taylors days no large staples at all on boards ..But more so in the times when Jocky Wilson and Eric Bristow were at the top of their trades .
You cant compare today to them days .

lol! I don't think he meant it the way "you" perceived it. It is taxing on the body in the sense of our back, your joints etc. Standing with most of your weight on one leg definitely causes back issues eventually, not that it's crippling but I damn sure feel it.

It’s physically taxing of course it is you obviously haven’t practiced throwing darts for more than 10 minutes a day. These top players need to be practicing for hours a day
He’s talking about the traveling that’s taxing on the body and mind. Playing exhibitions and tourney’s just about every day would be exhausting as hell on anyone.

Taylors a legend but if he was on the circuit now even at his prime not a chance he would be so successful back then nobody was on his level nowadays there's 20 players all capable of beating each other Phil had no competition bsck then simple as that and he made the best of it that wont ever happen again in darts ❤😂
you can only ever beat the opponents in front of you and he sure did that - dont under estimate the effect of the over saturation of tournaments now as players loose the intimidation factor of top rivals that was there in years gone past as they are playing each other so often. At his best against todays field, he wouldnt have the same level of domination, but I suspect he'd still be a serial winner
MvG was unplayable in 5 years ago. He couldn't maintain it like this man. To have the hunger to destroy everyone in front of you for that many years. Don't talk rubbish mate. Phil raised his game every time he needed to and always found another gear. If you put a prime Phil in today's game he'd be winning more majors than he'd lose.

One day his mum knitted him a full outfit, trousers and all. Then she said to put them on and "show your auntie" - who lived on the other side of the estate.
