    Thanks for this very informative post. I just had broke down after filling up gas in my tank. It was practically empty and ran fine from one gas station to the other gas station for a cheaper price. After filling gas I drove away and started to notice that I was bogging out every time I accelerated then it came to the point that I couldn’t even start my vehicle. It would start but I couldn’t press the gas, it would die on me. Now I’m going to try and check the fuel pump first. Or maybe I should start with the small things as you did. I don’t think I can check my pressure though.

    Great video on how to change the fuel pump for the 2.3L engine Honda Accord! Take a lot of pictures before removing it, e.g., the ground wire, etc. IMO, it would be good to disconnect the battery and the fuel pump fuse before proceeding on with the job. Also, it probably is good to replace the fuel pressure sensor as well! It locates on the right behind side of the valve cover gasket.

      To answer your question, Possibly. It's Possible that it could be the main relay or ignition switch as well. The first thing I would do is check that fuel pressure. I have video of how I did that without buying the expensive tool

      @@matthewdiaz25 The bad ignition switch is pretty common to cause starting problems. I try to eliminate the inexpensive stuff first.
      Actually I'm in the process of getting my parts together because I believe my ignition switch is causing my stumbling when starting and not wanting to start when warm. Im going to pull a part this weekend to find one. Those things are expensive new and o.e.m.
      Does jiggling your key help any at all. Here lately ( since I've been driving the Honda a lot more over the last 2 months) I've been turning the key over kinda fast and firm and it seems to help.

    • @matthewdiaz25
      @matthewdiaz25 Před 4 měsíci

      The verdict is in…. It was a bad distributor. Changed the fuel pump, the main rely, spark plugs, the coils, the fuses, and the ignition switch. I would pull the spark plugs out and run the engine to see if water was in there and nothing. Would turn the key and hear the chick of the main rely and the hum of the fuel pump and it would start on cold. Run 10-15 mins and than die. Once it died, I would crank and no start for a hour and start back up after it rest. I would test the coils cold and it would spark so I think I was good on spark. Finally I made the car die again and I checked the spark again and no spark… sooooo I figured the distributor was maybe working part time. Changed the distributor and it’s been running fine since.

      Yessir all of those could be connected. It's hard to diagnose since I'm not there in person. I'm a be honest that's a "Gremlin" code. Could be as simple as a loose or bad gas cap. It also could be one or a few leaks around the fuel tank.
      Have you had any work done recently?

    • @Solomonjawnz
      @Solomonjawnz Před 9 měsíci +1

      @HowIDoItFaM no one haven't had any work done recently. But what I can say is that, I didn't have an issue with the car until after I had gotten gas this one particular time. I drove about 15 miles and then the car started sputtering. After which my light came on. Actually had to pull to the side of the road because it completely stopped. Then i did end up making it back home. But the light is still on

    Seems you are some kind of mechanic. I paid to have the fuel pump replaced, before just turn the key & no need to press the pedal, but now its a bit hard to start, need to floor the pedal, any idea why, may be some air in the fuel line ?

    • @HowIDoItFaM
      @HowIDoItFaM  Před 9 měsíci

      First things first. Thank you for watching!
      Second things second. It sounds like it could be one of three things.
      1. Faulty new fuel pump ( it definitely can happen)
      2. Fuel Lines going to fuel pump are incorrectly installed
      3. Lines have some sort of kink in them
      A fuel pressure test will help with the diagnostic process. ( I have a video on how to do one on this car)
      Since I'm not looking at it in person It's hard to diagnose. In my opinion it seems to be something with the lines.
