    Ive had this dash sitting in the basement for months and it was finally time to get this thing installed! Figured Id make a video kinda walking through the process of how to remove the dash since it feels like a big job to do. Not super hard just time consuming mostly.

    I would have changed the heater core while all that was out but since this thing is going to Florida I don’t think you’ll ever need it 😂

      Yeah I thought about it but then I’d have to order one and I had to have the car back together same day. Hopefully I don’t need it for awhile haha

    Great job Christian! I imagine a dash swap is a pain but as you stated 100% worth it. Your attention to detail and all the modifications you make are always on point! Keep up the great work!

    This work reminds me of my visit in November when I removed the dashboard from the Vento in beaver. It's not the prettiest work, but it's worth it. Great job buddy.😎👍

    Great video Christian on how to change out the dash on the Jetta wagon. I actually have to change out my center console forward section, gear shifter area and the glove box in the next few days since they are both broken. I have a very clean center console and glove box from a 2006 Mk4 Golf to go into my 2002 Jetta wagon. I've changed these parts before, like you showed the process is challenging, but worth it in end 🇩🇪

    It's the little things that make all the annoying work worth it. Looks better and better every day that interior. I don't know how rare they are, but it would be very cool to have a cluster like the 1.6 bora had but with the mph, i've saw only one like that on an vr6 20v. The smooth dash with the separate cover for the airbag was on all rhd cars bora/r32, the dimple dash was only for the lhd, bora(2000 model and up),r32 and the 2004-2006 golf variant.

    Oh man dash jobs are the worse 😅 I just picked a R32 and luckily the heater core was done otherwise I'd be doing the same. I know we had no metal panels under the dash which is weird. Ours is all plastic over here!
    Loving the content though 🤙

    Moste 01 and on highline bora/golfs got them dimple dashes,late 01 and on ones got airbag smooth dash, and 98-00(and some early 01) got them with the airbag "flap" door :D also the windshield vent sensor pops out of the vent piece

    • @Mk3Smith
      @Mk3Smith  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the info! And I tried to pop it out but idk it wasn’t having it lol but even if it popped out putting the dash back in I feel like it’d be impossible to get to the plug again

    you ruined the top windshield vent. the light sensor for the AC climatronic is just pushed in, take that trim tool and pry it upwards

    • @Mk3Smith
      @Mk3Smith  Před 2 lety

      How is it ruined?😂 it went back in no problem and made life much easier to get the wire through with the vent out.

      @@Mk3Smith the ventpiece is spotwelded to the dashboard. Those welds always brake when you try to pry the vent away. You could tape a stripe och wirefeeder to the plug and then feed it thrue the cable hole
