I am a Malaysian fan of Palki, who is involved in International Finance. The fault is not financial literacy. Even with all the financial education in the world, these indices will remain status quo. The main issue is not literacy, instead, they are the very human greed, the corrupt financial system and the constant evolution of value creation tools. I hope she does a further episode encompassing the above. Thank you Palki, you are a diva queen of current affairs...

Ya bro, the central banks, the rich and the government are the key players in maintaining modern day slavery. Every loan money taken by the average joe ends up in the pockets of the rich making them richer than ever. And the rich know how to evade taxes... also the corrupt credit system, were new money is created... all this is accountable for modern day problem like not being able to afford a family....

The all encompassing catch-net of the modern world is greedy fast and furious leaving many in its suffocating death grip mainly the vulnerable young.
Winner takes all i.e. the big players. Their Financial Literacy is all about swallowing more while our financial literacy plays defensive ball all the time!

Of course these are the underlying subliminal issues. It can only be detected once you are literate in finances. So the basic education is needed. Then it is a matter if choice.

It has started here in Canada. Each province sets its own curriculum, starting in Grade 4 (age 9) to Grade 12 (age 17). Having volunteered at schools in the financial space, I can say that teachers are not the best people to teach financial literacy. It takes a village to raise a child.
Setting short, medium and long-term goals are the key along with realistic alignment to savings and spending. Learning how to invest, how to use various buckets of capital to meet each need.
Budget, save, invest, improve cash flow and absolutely spend the capital when work ends.
