I assume you’re at least somewhat familiar with the Krampus myth, but in short, in the Alps the story goes that Santa outsources the punishment of bad children to a demonic horned assistant. The Krampuslauf (Krampus run), where about 500 Krampus-costumed maniacs run through the streets of Graz, Austria, is the best Christmas thing there is- people go all out. Anyway, as you’ve seen from other requesters, these guys are pretty fun. I wasn’t ever into the German medieval rock/metal/folk scene that they started the band to mock, so I didn’t get into them until about a decade into their existence when they started to actually put out legit symphonic and power metal instead of tongue-in-cheek medieval folk. This video came out last Christmas and the song is also on last year’s “Memento Mori” album.

Krampus is ST.Nick's helper he went after the naughty kids and either beat them with a stick or hauled them off in a sack and ate them later. Its a medival legend to keep the children in line
Yip, there is a christmas horror movie called "Krampus" 😉
Depending on the region, Krampus is wether traveling with St. Niklas or on his own, going after the bad children to punish them. Feuerschwanz didn't intend to be historical or cultural correct, althought they explain a little bit in the lyrics: "Between your years, there are my cold days" ( the time between christmas and sylvester) "Lock your doors, because I know all your sins"
Turning the video in a mix of "Beauty and the beast" and an orgy is just their kind of humor😂I am totally fine with that, because in the end they are a FUN band and if you take their early songs, they have sex jokes in almost every one of them!
*Since we, in Europe, don't get the presents from "Santa", but from the "Christkind", "St. Nicholas" comes on December 6th and if you were a little baddie, then Krampus will put you in the sack.....muahahaha. "Christkind" is also friendly and brings the presents on the evening of the 24th of December. Children don't have to wait until the morning of Dec. 25th....* 🎄🎁🎄🌟🎄
The Krampus wears a traditional mask carved out of wood, plus a costume. Both already there and not made specifically for this video. No "eight hours in the chair", you just put it on.
They show a different Krampus here: not punishing naughty children, but luring people to have orgies in his cave :-) It's not a set, they shot this in a real cave. There's a "making of" video somewhere for anybody who's interested.
Did you see dthe new Lovebites Judgement Day video they had a shredfest in the middle of that song and Fami on Bass just WOWWWWWWW. totally the best song yet. They strive to be better than they were and succeed every time.

All i know about krampus, i know from american dad.
Very fun song and video but completely unrelated to the myth of Krampus. The band just took the character and used to make a sexy, submitting to evil video. For a more accurate Krampus song checkout Lacuana Coil's Naughty Christmas.
