Thank you for showing the real results of buying these pallets.
Seeing the condition people return stuff in is absolutely wild. On the rare occasion if I have to return something it’s never in bad condition or dirty. I even wipe it off before hand.
I worked at a small local hardware store chain as a kid. I was running returns one day and a cashier had accepted a used toilet auger for return. I literally was covered in someones dried up feces. After that they instituted a policy that a manager would have to come up to approve any returns lol
I've been guilty of returning a dirty shop vac, but it was a defective product that wouldn't shut off unless you detached the battery. I did however put painters tape on the tool and box and marked what was wrong on it.
It's like there's a segment of the population that buys something for one time use, uses it, then just returns it as is. It's like premeditated scammery, those scum
Its because they have the same product and instead of buying what they are missing they will buy a new one, take what they need and return it. I know people who have had a product that broke, bought a new one, put the broken one in the new package and returned it as a broken product
@@PsychoC4rnivore otherwise known as shoplifting
You got scammed. Why call it a pallet if its almost empty and filled with trash.
Because Lowe's probably called it a pallet 😂
?@@nF_Rhythm
Yes they sold it because it was cheaper to dispose of than taking to the dump
It's a pallet of returns. Did you expect a pot of gold with every purchase?
I worked at Lowe's and the amount of care was almost non-existent, especially for returns
You have definitely, positively, and absolutely convinced that I will NEVER buy a return lot of anything, ever.
They can provide good returns, if you're willing to put in the effort to check through the manifests and be selective on what you bid on. It's not free money, you have to know what you're doing and put in a lot of effort, especially if you're reselling things. I made a few hundred dollars of profit reselling a box of Target electronics returns, but it also took quite a few hours of work to go through and sell it all!
Ratchet rebuild kits exists, John. But you can take the Craftsman ratchet to a Lowe's and swap it out with a new one lol
Infinite ratchets glitch?!😂
I was thinking the same thing..
Just take them back they will give u a new one.. 😂
Or Ace hardware takes 10 seconds
Then they will put into a another pallet bin for the next sucker
I don’t believe they have rebuild kits for any of their current offerings. That doesn’t matter, though, given the simple and easy warranty process.
Whoever is in charge of editing/memes give that guy a raise
Yo for real tho. Never misses.
I agree. I enjoy the memes lol
Completely and wholeheartedly agree, dude's always on point
"There's mold..." *DEEP INHALE* 🤢🤢🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I worked at Lowe’s 22 years ago the returns people took back drove me nuts everyday. The people who worked returned took Home Depot tiles that were used they had mortar on the back of them,..
Nothing has changed. Now people realized if they cry hard enough we’ll take it back. It’s only gotten worse tbh
"Is that a hole saw" - kicked off flashbacks haha
I used to run the return program for a Lowe's and was the guy who packed and shipped these containers. Occasionally some decent items end up in them but we're supposed to recycle the lithium batteries, the employees bought the really good stuff, and you can return total trash to the store. More often then not id pack these full of garbage. Didn't know people paid that much for them lol you couldn't give me half the pallets I shipped
Here for all the unboxing videos and shenanigans 🐿️
Here from the Temu Video, love the builds, but love these tool unboxing videos!
I work at the returns desk at Lowe's and this makes total sense. We're trained to take just about anything back and if it's trash or broken we mark it as faulty. The slips are part of the process of just sending things back, could be for something as simple as the item being used.
Yet they refuse my returns on unused items because they're 1 day over the 90 day window...
@@scotth5503 omg yeah, and stopped supporting store credit for no receipt items. like we'll take back a lawnmower someone ran over but a clearly unopened tool that's 91 days old is just toooooo much.
I worked at Wal-Mart 2 decades ago. I went into work in the paint dept. one morning and there was a flat bed with about 15 gallon cans of old paint, some of it from the 70s. KMart store brand paint. Random colors, most dried up. Took it back to the claims/return office and was told. "We can't process it. The bar codes aren't in the computer. It needs to be priced at the return value and put on the shelf." The customer service desk had given them a refund of $15 per can, because that's what WalMart brand paint sold for new.
We ended up stashing it under the paint counter and throwing out a can or two a week when no one was in the receiving area. That was the "No Hassle Return Policy" at it's finest. They also once accepted the return of a completely trashed mini motorbike and gave the people $385 in cash because the person had a receipt- it just wasn't a Walmart receipt.
That's why I'd never buy a return pallet from anywhere.
@@jeffscott3186 People like that ruined Wal-Mart's "Satisfaction Guaranteed" policy.
They don't advertise that anymore.
The Wal-Mart museum has on display some items they took back including a Stanley thermos that was made before Wal-Mart existed and a functional thermometer that the customer complained "Would not keep accurate time".
I love Wal-Mart's sister store Bud's that sold returns.
Wish they had never closed it.
The builds are great, but these unboxing videos are always hilarious and informative too. Thank you!
So a heads up regarding Lowe's CRTV pallets, when I was doing the job, I was instructed to pull all the batteries and treat them as HAZMAT instead of keeping them in the CRTV pallet, which is part of why you didn't get any here
As someone who works in returns - they can be really hit or miss. You win some you lose some. Unfortunately it's the way the retail world works now..gotta keep the customer happy.
The people returning these aren't really the customers that need to be kept happy. They have no intention of supporting these stores.
@@eschybach I worked retail for years and it's not really about keeping customers happy it's just not worth arguing with a customer and potentially causing a scene. For one I was never paid enough that I'd bother and two the company would rather just eat the loss and avoid the headache of an angry customer.
I work part time at Lowes, and some of the crap they accept as a return and expect us to sell is ridiculous.
Because they know they can drop them in these boxes and resell them to cover the loss on the return
Delivery guy got a new saw you got his old one 😂
If it helps deal with being scammed, it’s a good opening video for the new channel.
I used to work for Slowe's many years ago. I can guarantee how the Ryobi saw got in there: Someone went to the customer service desk either with a receipt for the other-brand saw they just bought and insisted it was the same one, or they made some noise until a manager gave them some store credit just to make them leave.
I saw so many old -- as in years of rust and wear -- in the returns baskets, which customers had attached the sales tag to return a "new" hammer as faulty, as not living up to expectations, getting a full refund and replacing their old hammers for free.
All that effort for a hammer is wild
Thanks for showing us the true side of this return pallet fad!
I saw your first pallet purchase and tried it myself. Got a Lowes' pallet. Got a lot of the same stuff. Best item, Shop Vac. I got a gas powered blower identical to the two pieces of crap in your box. Don't waste your time. Will not run. Some of the battery stuff worked, but a lot of it was DOA. I paid about the same and got about the same. Amazing what the hell gets returned to Lowes.
Wow!!! They shafted you dry with some sawdust. Thanks for another great pallet video and commentary to go with it.
If you could find any woodworking mystery boxes I feel like you’ll be way less screwed than these pallets.
I had a great laugh, watching.. You may have got a pallet that was from people scamming the returns.. I've seen people buy an item that they have that's broke and keep the new and return the broken, happens everyday..
I have bought many return pallets, the last 2 I bought were all junk and (the unnamed store) they actually returned my money on the last one, cause everything looked to have been badly broken and well abused.. Thank you for sharing..
The Ego half trimmer is probably worth some coin, it's the power head that can receive different attachments (trimmer head, pole saw head, hedging head, edger) very handy tools!
second hand tools are rarely worth half of what they are new, some brands and products hold value but it's rare. I've bought tons of tools from a local place that is basically a pawn shop for tools and it's always a hell of a lot cheaper than a new one.
Two videos in one morning! This is getting squirrely
Craftsman allows you to return their tools for a refurbished usa or a new one from overseas? Looks like you need to round up a bunch of that and "return" it.
Love your unboxing videos. Can't wait to see what else you get.. ❤
This was brutal. Thank you for going through that pain for our entertainment!
I love his comment about how it's hard to mess up a shop vac. I bought a Shop Vac branded one from Lowe's and the first time I used it the motor lit on fire lmao.
That skil circular saw is a beast! I have one and love it!
3:45 Hold up...
I bought a Craftsman wet/dry vac two months ago and it had an extra wheel and a bag too small for the canister.
Watching this to the end, I’m re minded of when I returned an 6” hole saw. Needed for cutting drywall for recessed lighting fixtures. That particular lob was actually a plaster ceiling, which nearly immediately (some sparks!) dulled to the point that it’s teeth were rounded off after only two holes, plenty of burning!
I returned it to HD, showed the associate (love that stupid word to make worker feel like they are actually part of the team) that this was returned as a failed and costly tool. (Maybe it was my bad. But it wasn’t low quality, it was either Klein or Fluke) I was truly surprised when the following week I saw the exact same tool repacked and had the full process decal on it. It remained there for months.
Also those little craftsman socket kits come in handy!
One of the few things I don't want to get faulty are blades spinning at thousands of rotations per minute.
I’ve bought only one thing from a Lowe’s box. It was actually a great deal. The trailer that was ordered and paid for, was not in the nearest (75miles from Madison Wisconsin) locations inventory when I arrived to receive the trailer. Instead of an 8 foot trailer, I left with a 12. That was good , aside from the fact that I really wanted the smaller one for a specific purpose.
But because of my business needs, a bigger trailer was more useful. However I didn’t really have room to park it. The wife insisted I figure out another option. (Great story, except it was a shitty one, but at least I was able to legitimately complain about it for ages.)
But seeing this video reaffirms that I am glad there’s not a Lowe’s in my area anymore.
Home Depot serves my needs well. The Menards has some redeeming qualities, though I literally go out of my way to make them my second choice when possible.
Seeing this bullshit pallet score is hardly a score.
Item number one. Used as a urinal siphon? Is that possible? To reverse it? Not likely, so what was the sprayer fill with and is now fermented and moldy? My guess’s will not pass the censorship on YT, so I’ll refrain.
Next up: a craftsman shop vac that was purchased and returned because the buyer wanted to replace a single wheel on the old one. Been there did that myself, or I mean, I knew someone else who did that.
But it’s something that can still be useful.
Craftsman ratchets are immediately replaced (I replaced two in as many days, 15yrs ago) a decent very old (probably an 80s or 90s) 3/8” ratchet that snapped internally while doing suspension work one day, so I returned it and was given a lesser quality tool, that broke the same way, it was replaced with the exact same model.
My ancient USA craftsman tools are still in my possession. I no longer buy that brand, unless hard pressed, and only screwdrivers or similar.
Lost track of the order of progress. Skillsaw and Hoover. Both have become generic terms for related items. The crescent wrench is my personal favorite when needing an adjustable wrench, thankfully mine happen to be actual Crescent products I inherited from dad or grandfather perhaps in the days when I still had little to no tools myself. Glad I never ever pawned such things. Pawn shops were my go to place to find someone else’s addiction losses, or sadly, an addicts thievery fix.
In the grand scheme, you bought the box (pallet) that was actually the temporary dumpster. Dude you were fucked.
Looking forward to more shenanigans from John & crew!
Those small craftsman 1/4 tool kits are great. I have them in my truck
Kobalt power tools are excellent, at least when bought new, I’ve never bought returned ones, or used ones. So I can’t speak on that. I prefer kobalt over dewalt and Milwaukee both. I put my tools through absolute hell, use them all the time. In my experience they have more power than the others I mentioned. Just my experience though. Great video as usual!
thanks for the effort
I used to work at lowes about 10 years back. they would accept returns from anywhere, im pretty sure you could return a Home Depot bucket for a refund. Ive heard that they got a lot more strict on their return policy since then
Definitely looking forward to more return pallets
Cant go wrong with more Malecki! LFG!
buy the tool and battery combos, keep the battery when they return. happens all the time when I worked at homedepot. sometimes the return desk doesn't doesnt even look
I'm glad to see that people may be getting honest with returns.
Morning! Excited about the new channel!
People that buy pallets this don't often realize that lithium batteries are subject to strict shipping rules. Products can be shipped in ready to sell product packaging if they are labeled correctly but they cannot be shipped back to the warehouse/store if they are used or defective products, even if they are in the original packaging. Unfortunately that means that batteries are separated and thrown in a specialty labeled hazard container to be professionally "disposed". With the exception of being shipped for disposal back to seller. And even then the package must be returned to a separate disposal address that the company uses.
We feel your pain......and laugh a little bit, to be honest. Have a great week boys!
Epic weekend mornings now start with John Malecki vids 👍
Wow, what a disappointment from what Lowes put in that pallet. I have been playing around with the idea of buying a pallet to try and resell, but your experience is definitely making me think twice. I would have loved to get the Kobalt blowers since I am already in their 80V line and could use one of them but the other items were a complete train wreck.
I won't lie, I've taken advantage of Lowe's return policy to get a one use tool. They really don't care, they don't even open the box. I've never returned something that I damaged or was in an unusable state though. Some of the stuff in video should have just went straight to a dumpster, not resold.
The only time I've ever done it was I bought a new mower and 3 weeks later hit some metal and it destroyed the motor, so I got a refund and bought a better mower(and avoided the metal)
18:18 pump? Pump the jam up pump it up!
I bought a pallet of Dewalt and Milwaukee tools in the boxes . Pallet was 5 ft tall. 1 tool worked. Milwaukee warranty fixed most and Dewalt was trash
Those Zoeller pumps are easy to fix. What's sad is Zoeller used to be one of the best. I have rebuilt several pumps and they retail for over $200 to $300 depending on model. I would of gladly taken them
John, don't worry, failure is fun to watch! CZcams has proven that watching children fall flat on their face is pure entertainment. 🤣 Thanks for the laughs.
I thought it was a pallet of wood...
I'd buy a pallet of wood scraps, build me a few raised garden beds.
When you said is that a whole saw I chuckled out loud in memory of that one box
Love the Steelers Logo you have on the wall. Looks like you got Ripped off from Lowes ! I'm right outside Pittsburgh.
even if the tools are wack the content is great, thank you for your videos. From South Africa
Just came from the TEMU video, super informative and genuine help for someone actually wanting to begin the craft.
Nice to meet you Koozie. Buckle up, we're just getting started
I suspect the reason no tools came with batteries and missing accessories is because when people lose or break it, they buy a new tool, take out what they need and return the new tool as defective. Thats why that shopvac was missing a wheel and hose. I know people who have had a product that broke, so they go buy a new one, then keep the new one, put the broken one in the new box, and take it back as a broken product
The craftsman weedeater I’ve the exact same one indeed, is a four stroke like your car
Thank you for possibly saving someone out there who still believes you can still get a good deal on one of these pallets.
You could warranty those rachets again 😂
I mean at least with the craftsman ratchets you can return them with the lifetime warranty 🤣
Just watched the temu video and had no choice but to subscribe to the new channel! I’d be glad to take some of the hole saws off your hands!
I have a feeling that the open-topped pallet got raided by everyone who walked past it. It probably had decent stuff in it when it was valued for sale, but it's all been cherry picked by the warehouse/shipping people.
My Lowes here in Colorado Springs sells Ryobi.
Your editor is awesome man, all the video clipp inserts he does always make me laugh
I love the oil in the 4 stroke weed whacker.
The kobalt drill looked relatively new so that might work however the thing with kobalts hassle free warranty is that you return it to the store if it doesn’t work and get a new one
Here for more returns! Love the content
I subscribed and laughed the whole time - mainly your misery amuses me. That said, these videos are pretty funny
Hey, you should partner with one of those smelting channels. Might get some value out of melting down some of the metal tools.
I have purchased a couple of these boxes and I have usually have good results also. There has been a couple that have been total lost.
You could take the broken wrenches back for new ones 😂
The only return pallet you have ever got that was good was the home Depot one... That pallet was awesome... The rest of them were really junk
I like how he said it’s from Loews but it’s ryobi which is Home Depot exclusive lol. Love the vids!
You're videos are awesome 😎
those craftman wrenches are useful if their the older sear tools. The parts inside make great rebuild parts
Ya i don't hate that they're in ther
John Malecki, single handedly keeping Lowes in businesses by buying crappy pallets for our entertainment! We salute you John! 😂😂😂
love the channels, very entertaining.
100% honest I just returned probably 15 broken craftsman ratchets that were old as hell to my local Lowe’s. You probably have my old tools.
I used to work tools at Lowe's until 2020 and all through the 10's decade I was constantly called to the returns desk multiple times a day with a-holes pitching a fit returning stuff like the Ryobi from Home Depot or clearly destroyed power tools and the girls up there were on their last nerve dealing with those dudes.
I had more than few guys bring back power tools that had been submerged long enough to have rusted and if you tapped them on the counter water and muck would come out and they'd all say the same thing "PIECE OF SHIT QUIT WORKING ON ME!" and I'd ask "And you're surprised WHY?" I would refuse so many returns because it's not buy something once, abuse the shit out of it and then free-replacements for life - AND THEN they'd get an ASM to overrule me and they'd take it back anyway.,
The worst was I was off for the once a month Sat & Sun weekend we'd get working there and my coworkers were POS do nothings so I made sure the put out 4 Dewalt planers which I think went for $400 a pop. I came back on Monday and all four had sold - hey great for the dept! Until I went back to receiving and there they all were destroyed. Some dufus had run the thing so hard - a haircut instead of a shave that it had caught on fire and he proceeded to return and get another free replacement until he'd gone through all four we had and gotten to go home with his $400 at the end of this tool massacre.
The ASM's there don't care because they are told to make morons who shop there happy. Is it worth pissing them off that they stop coming was the rationale.
And the dumb questions! My all time fav guy came over to pester me while I was rekeying locks in Hardware and announced like Gomer Pyle "Hey man, I'm buildin' a DECK!" "Congratulations" I told him, "How can I help you?" Keep in mind not only is the internet full of CZcams vids on how to build a deck - but Lowe's at the time had a channel as well chock full of how-to stuff. So this brain-donor wants the tool you use to make sure the posts is uh square to his house. I'm concentrating on rekeying the lock pins in and take a beat to process this and before I can answer he tells me he's got his posts down in concrete already and now wants to make sure he got 'em square to the house!
I rolled my stool over to the computer and brought up the Lowe's "How to build a deck" vid and let him watch that while I finished the rekey for the customer who was waiting, angry at how long it takes to rekey a couple of locks.
That customer left with their locks in huff and the deck guy looked sheepish and admitted "I think I may have fucked up dude,,," so I walked him through the tools he didn't have, wrote down how to look up the how to vid when he got home to study and went on to then next outrage...
When you looked at all the crap on the palette remember how dumb the average shopper of home improvement and tools probably are and it comes as no surprise that a LOT of stuff comes back and is either tossed in a dumpster out back or sold off like this to try to recoup some money. I wouldn't by ANYTHING like this blind. Almost all returns are destroyed and of little to no value.
I've found that weedwacker easier to start when its on the ground than trying to pull it in the air like that. Also see if Ace Hardware has a return pallet
Looks like someone already went through that before they sold it to you.
I mean can't you repair the pumps maybe it's just a loose connection or blown fuse in the plug or manufacturer forget to connect a line.
Next time you can bring someone that can fault check the items.
In Canada those cobalt 80 V batteries are $200 each. So 150-ish US? Wouldn’t be too surprised if they kept them back and tried to resell them. Entertaining video as always.
Kobalt
Wow. That was a sad pallet
I'll watch anything you put out, John. No matter how much it costs you!
In my experience, this is the average Lowe's pallet. Gotten truckloads of garbage from them before.
Ill take the hold down clamp🤣🤣
I've returned things I bought at Menards to Home Depot on accident, they took it back no questions
Definitely could use one of those 80v blowers I love my 80v mower
Damn you got screwed on that. I buy Lowes pallets all the time foe a lot less and get great returns on them. However I don't buy them online cuz most of the online ones are picked through then sold
I’m interested to know how a Home Depot Ryobi item got in a Lowe’s pallet. 8:39 I used to have a Craftsman weed trimmer that had the gears stripped and I found a black and decker 40v weed trimmer and my craftsman batteries work on it. 13:02 how can they resell faulty merchandise?
I love these videos SO MUCH!
Just me and rodeny out here enjoying nature
Thing that really pisses me off here is that I have a little bag of unneeded dryer hose adapters that I tried to return and they wouldn't take them. I'm talking, stuff that wasn't used at all, still had tags on them, I had the receipt.. and they wouldn't take them because I had bought them too long ago 😡
This pisses me off too! Thats absurd!
