@@jasonandersen5975 Anyone who has ever assembled a paintbrush would recognize that the brush idea was complete bs. No scratch that. Anyone who has ever observed the effects of _gravity_ would know that. I find it surprising that it has to be pointed out. There are two outcomes depending on the brush construction and how far you go.
Option 1 is you fake it by either not drilling all the way through or by drilling a tiny weep hole if there's room in the center. Either way, it's not functional, so you just fake the video and run with it. It's a viral life hack video. The default presumption should always be that it's misleading or otherwise exploitative.
Option 2 is you bore it out big enough to feed paint. The result is that you destroy the brush, and you now have no control over the flow. You can't paint out of position, and you need to constantly stop to use a funnel to fill the bottle. It would be an impractical, uncontrollable mess that wastes more time and paint than alternatives which are simpler, cheaper, and don't require extra tools or the destruction of a good brush.

    • @JarShar
      @JarShar Před 2 měsíci +37

I agree that leaving the bottle whole has a lot of benefits - including not spilling your paint! However, I have another idea for how the paint might be drawn out of the resevoir - you might have to dip the paint brush once to get yourself started. Many liquids, once saturating something like a sponge or brush, will pull out more from a reservoir, once saturated, creating a steady stream. I think it might be called capillary action?
This is not to say this is necessarily guaranteed to work, or that it's a great idea - just that the results in the original video *may* be duplicate-able without "cheating" per-se.

4:16 that’s why they didn’t cut the bottle. You squeeze the bottle so the paint comes out.
Same as you drink out of it, you suck it out or you squeeze it out.
You didn’t have a closed container so the only way it would work right now is when you drill a (tiny) hole in the bottle cap so the paint drizzles out of it and gives you a continues flow.
But if you do that the paint wouldn’t stop coming out of the bottle.
So please try this again with a bottle that isn’t cut in half 😃

Will mean there's a minimum radius for the curves in the design but should leave no gaps.

I put flat parallel wood strips on either side of the work that were taller than the work was thick; this let the bridge ride above the surface of the work. I lowered the bit to touch, and ran it over the work.

The puzzle wood hack was actually temporarily attaching the two pieces on top of each other, with a layer of tape on each side and glued between, like a sandwich. Then you cut the shape you want and you have two identical halves of each side of the shape... One of each wood. Detach them, remove glued tape, and put one of each side together again like a puzzle.

Here´s a tip that actually works; when you are pouring paint from a bigger paint can, you take mascing tape and make a "v" pattern on the edge of the can. The "v" should be half an inch from the edge of the can. When you pour, the paint makes a narrow stream and is much more accurate and easy to control. After the pour, take away the tape and there is no paint on the can (or the floor), only on the tape.

Only 1 minor critique for the coat rack, instead of having the screws and mounting plate extend past the fingers I would have attached it with 3-4 screws through the backing plate behind the actuating fingers so the board appears to float on the wall as well. Just sayin'..... other than that it was very nicely done bro 💪🏽💯

Tip for your brushes.. when you finish painting metal or whatever just put them in a cup of diesel fuel and just leave it in for days,weeks,months... diesel desolves paint and it doesn't evaporate.. when you want to use it again just shake off the diesel from the brush and try drying it.. best solution is give it a blow with compressed air.. it's so clean you can even use white paint even if you last used black... i use the same paint brushes for years😂

For the plane dude probably either got some janky chineseium bit or found a big finishing bit for a 1/2inch chuck and turned it down on a lathe for a 1/4 inch chuck for that plane, but yeah, that'll do it... For the Drippy joint, That would be really cool using a hotrod flame pattern using rosewood and ebony. Maybe like on a desk or a coffee table as the skirting around the bottom side of the surface...

For the first one to work, you need a sponge. Entire brush may have to be a sponge (sponge brush) like one of those dish sponges with a handle that holds detergent. At very least, you need sponge going from bottle to somewhere within the bristles. You'd have to experiment with how much sponge.
It is kind of useless, though. Most jobs you will constantly be regilling and overall more work than just dipping it, and for small jobs it is tool much extra effort compared to what you are doing. Plus you move brushes a lot, so you need to be able to fill and close the reservoir.
You solution is either some sort of flegible feed hose that you can control, or design a solid paint stick similar to a glue stick.
