- In this video we take a deeper dive on my 2011 E90 BMW 335i to see what its like to drive and use as a daily driver.
Fitted with the N55B30 engine, this is a really great stealth daily driver, offering both high levels of comfort and performance, soundtracked by one of the best straight six engine notes around!
Hope you enjoy the video!

The car that refuses to age I really love E90s
So true!
I own a BMW 335i 2011 and just pasted 100k. Love this car and just the BMW brand in general.
Front M3 control arms and a good set of coilovers is really a good improvement over stocks/worn stocks.
Just picked up a LCI e90 335d. such great cars, fast ,well built and reliable
Everything besides the door handles on the inside of the car
Love this appreciation for the e9x timeless power 6cyl
Thanks for watching man!
Had a look at one of these when I was younger lovely shape! I recently bought a F30 335i as daily, I love it so much! Just got back from a 10 day road trip in Cornwall was never bored in it. I would say, i nearly like it as much as my E60 M5 I had haha!
Awesome, the F30 platform is also meant to be very good from what I hear, glad you're enjoying it!
Had one of these for a few years, I have since had an f82 and a f80 competition but still miss my e90 335i. Fabulous car!
Best looking 3 series ever!
I have an N54 E92 and Im absolutely addicted to it around 400whp until I replace some injectors. The N55 LCI E90 M Sport or sport looks so good nice and tight compact sedan and sounds great as well with that dual scroll single turbo. Great video
Sounds great, glad you're enjoying yours. Thanks for watching!
I've had the pleasure of owing two different 335i's (e90, e92). Neither one gave had major issues aside from some leaks being remedied by my independent mechanic. The power of the N54 was mind blowing due to it being my first entry. The n55 was great but not brutal.
As far as this review it really personifies my current view of the 335i. The host is low key, not getting too flashy but thorough with the analysis without getting too complicated.
Well done.
Thanks for sharing your experience, appreciate the kind words too!
183k miles 2006 330i Daily driver manual trans fully loaded sport packg. I LOVE THIS CAR. I have a 96 328i that I bought to mod but I like the e90 so much I want one a n54 one as well to play with not daily. People really don't realize how good these cars really are. If you can turn a wrench you'll be fine. Millions of youtube videos for maintenance.
Yeah the youtube community around these cars is fantastic, there's some great forums and Facebook groups too
My 06 330i got totaled at 170k miles a month after I had replaced dam near everything in the engine bay, the car ran amazing. I bought a 57k mile 335xi but man I really miss the 330i sometimes lol
@@AnthonyGonzalez-zy5zm sorry to hear that man. I sold the E36 yesterday. And I honestly don't know if I should sell the 330i and find a N54 LCI sedan. Or stay in my lane be happy driving this with no anxiety lol. Then get a c5/c6 for the weekend car 🤷
@@Vgk36 haha it happens. I paid 7k for the 330i at 80k miles and it got totaled at 170k miles and my insurance paid me out 9.3k witch ended up going towards my 335xi so it worked out fine lol. And tbh you just have to find a stock one with low owners and all maintenance records and you won’t have to worry about anything breaking as long as you stay up on maintenance. Selling the 330i would kind of hurt the heart but the tun-ability of the 335i will soon make you forget haha. And corvettes are dope man, that would be nice
The lci model with m packet holds up very well in terms of looks
Such a clean 335i
Love my e92 n55 sounds great and has been very reliable
I do like the facelift and it's a sleeper since most people will assume it's a 320d if they don't see the badges
Recently bought an E90 330d. Wishing I bought a 335i now 😂
330d is still a great car!
about to get an n54 as a daily, hopefully not a bad investment
Sounds naughty that lad such a symphony 🤤🤤🤤
Agreed!
Nice video production quality
Thanks!
I concur. Guy Richie and Clive Owen would be proud.
Great vid. Would love one in touring guise.
Thanks! Yeah I would say that might be the coolest format!
The N52 was short lived in the E9x cars being quickly replaced by the N53 which can be a royal pain in the arse. Biggest downside to the N52 in the E9x cars is that most are auto and the engine suits the manual better.
The E9x cars are aging well in my eyes (I’ve just sold my E92 335i for a Z4 coupe).
Hey, could you compare these two? I'm thinking about buying one of these cars and can't decide 😅
Thanks for the insight on this! Agreed, the E9X generation has aged incredibly well. Hope you enjoy the Z4 Coupe, I loved mine!
More e30 vids please!
Good review! The previous owner of my e46 sold it after he bought a manual e90 335i (twin turbos)... I still maintain that the e46 looks best, but that is probably partly just to make myself feel better as the e90s grow on me, haha.
Thanks a lot! Ahaha yeah its all subjective I guess, still both great looking cars
@@FootToPedal smooth simple designs, and timeless classics.
planning to get th e92 320i m packet
is the stock exhaust on this car? it sounds amazing.
most likely the BMW PPK, which was options when purchasing the, comes with the PPK (power performance kit) tune which adds 20hp and more torque, a more agressive burble noise, aswell as a faster 0-75 time, if it has the PPK 2 which comes with the tune and the Performance exhaust which sounds amazing.
Yeah as far as I'm currently aware it is the stock exhaust, but it does seem loud compared to others I have heard on CZcams. Can't see any PPK stickers in the engine bay and the exhaust itself appeared to be the standard one but will need to do some more digging to see if I can find anything!
Your dash has the engine oil temp? Is that standard for 335i? My 2011 328i xdrive has the l/100km or something like that.
Yeah the 335i, similar to the M models, has the oil temp gauge on the dash. It's a very useful one to be fair, but would be good if you could also more easily see the coolant temp as that is not displayed
Great car, great review - enjoy.
Thanks for watching!
Great engines, they refuse to die! It’d have to be a 330d or 335d, as I couldn’t run a 335i on a daily basis commute into Manchester.😂
Yeah if you were doing lots of mileage a 330d or 335d makes total sense to me!
the front end of this car reminds me of an eagle 🦅
I sold my e90 330i lci, now searching for a nice 335i but i don’t know which, e90 or f30
Yeah pros and cons to each, F30 has the ZF 8 speed and also later versions of the N55 which are more reliable, but most people say the E90 is the better car to drive. Depends what suits you best!
F30 looks newer too
Had one of these 335i n54 on a 2007 in ferrari red. 3 year old 18k miles auto. What a car. Got rid of it for a 2006 bmw e60 m5. Regretted selling the 335i
Sounds like it was a nice example!
@@FootToPedal it was still relatively new. Bought it from bmw in leeds
Must have been cool having one back in the day
@FootToPedal it was very understated. Very fast tho for its day. Upto 100mph not much in it and m5
Where did you buy the angel eyes lights?
I believe these are just the lights the car came with from factory, they are the adaptive xenons
@@FootToPedal factory angel bulbs are halogen. I got a 2011 335d exactly like yours.
If you’re talking about changing them from halogen to LED then I’m sure you’ll find some if you type LUX E90 Angel Eyes
Injector prices between n54 and n55, $450 vs. $150, you need 6.
I've heard about N54 injector prices, that is crazy
“BMW’s first mass produced turbocharged engine” er what? 0:28

2:46 People rediscovering silver wheels! 😂
Can't beat them!
I picked up a cheap audi A4 3.2 V6 a couple years ago, I refurbed the wheels to dark grey. However with the car being deep sea blue, the wheels looked way too dark, ran them for a year then changed them back to silver. Much, much nicer on a dark coloured car.
Shit. My car is a 320d, not the 335i
