We live in an era where 500 Tricky Gym videos a day is normal, and I'm all here for it
Braxton and Layla said thank you for showing their artwork. They were very excited to see that on the video!
I’m glad they saw it!!! Thanks for sending it in :)
I made a slightly modified version of this deck and it is mind numbing how good it is. I’m eight games into my win streak. If they give you just ONE opening, it’s over. They’re trapped. You’re moving damage. You’re shuffling your hand whenever needed. My last match used 22 minutes of their timer trying to figure it out.
I think temple is a good add to prevent jet energy and therapeutic energy.
Share your decklisttttttttttttt pleaseeeee TwT
Venomoth is legit one of my all time favorites, glad to see it finally have a card card can be used for something other than a binder slot.
love seeing LZ struggle so much
I enjoy every second of it.
Love how everyone is universally tired of LZ.
@@WorldofBlubit’s just the same thing over and over and so predictable Atleast all the other decks have things they’ve changed even charizard has different strategies.
I agree that LZ is stale but I don't understand why. It's like people have stopped trying to innovate with it. But mirage gate opens so many doors. Like there has to be things that people haven't tired.
It seems like folks found a couple builds that work and call it done.
@@heavyarms55I think tcg just isn’t releasing any cards to support it because it’s so broken already.
I wonder if people are even gonna remember how to set up once Battle VIP Pass goes away. I hope the NEVER reprint it. Anyway, this deck is kinda awesome and I agree with your thoughts on the best of 3 timed rules in tournaments.
I will just run x4 copies of nest ball instead, arguably better in a lot of situations currently too
I mean, literally, I’ve been tinkering around with it, and I’m really not impressed with the cost of running 4 battle vip tbh, I’d rather have the nest balls for consistent set up throughout the deck but then again, I’m not running strategies that need a powerful turn one
Hi from 3 months in the future, ah jeez, that didn't age well. (referring to Buddy Poffin)
@@TheStylishSpy turns out I was wrong LOL, a powerful Turn 1 is literally the way to go... poor me 3 months ago
Love that artwork! Great job Braxton and Layla! 👏👏
A good venomoth? That's perplexing
Confusing even
And also a powder.
And ALL THREE of you are RIGHT :D
Braxton and Layla, sick art!
The Lunala that doubles all damage counters would be a cool finisher. Though, fitting a stage 2 in the deck would be tricky.
That would be so much fun to pull as they're about to deck out with a heavily damaged bench, but I agree that would be incredibly hard to fit in such a tightly packed deck.
Wow I love this deck! So great to see Andrew's joy and outside the box decks, and so funny to see the opponents with 12+ card hands, 10 fewer cards in deck than Andrew, still can't do anything! That might be a new or very rare deck dynamic, where you're bossing up the third of the same pokemon and spreading 20 damage at a time. This works in part because there are so many support pokemon in the format. Healthy meta. Did the opponents just not draw enough energy?
Haven’t watched in a while and my guy….. congrats on 100 k wow!!! Just freaking love it! Get that content out there!
Mark my words: Sander Wocjik is gonna make a zoro control box with this dude in it
This was hilarious! I could watch this deck owning Lost Zoners all day long
You have just come up with a great control deck. I play control a lot lately and look forward to playing this
Seeing you do this to a lost zone player brings me so much joy
Good job Andrew, this deck is amazing!
I come here for the Andrew Cackles. Did not disappoint.
This deck feels so close to the old Deck and Cover lock deck with Accelgor+Mew EX+Gothitelle(Trevenant) +Dusknoir. That deck was so broken and fun, it was the one that got me back into PTCG. I played that thing on legacy right up to the PTCGO sunset. It sucks that we will never get it on Live
Bug-type Pokémon trainers love to see it! It's crazy how good this venomoth is rn.
I saw your video then a few hours later found this deck in Live, immediately started swinging into venonats, won 😊
I keep hearing Daughtry song Evil playing in my head when I see this deck. That and merman saying 'Evil!'
Absolute BANGER of a video. Who knew watching control could be this much fun! Tbh it’s mostly because it’s a Venomoth. ❤
I have an expanded venomoth deck that I looooove, its one of my favorite mons. I've even got a lil plushy of the lad on my desk next to dustox
Decks like this are my favorite. So funny.
The art was so wholesome!
Wow I didn't even know that we got an Item lock card in 151. Great job Andrew!
Andrew: Hey guys, look at this cool moth I found.
This venomoth vod gonna HIT
I was super excited to try this deck out, I played the exact deck in the description and lost 10 times in a row to Charizard ex decks... no Battle VIP in any of my starting hands, went second 8 times
This is so much fun! Thanks Mahone👌
I cannot keep up with all this tricky gym content! Idk if this is a dream or nightmear😂
I honestly like the confusion animation live has. I like it more when you click on the confused card and the animation drops to 4fps lmao
24:18 “Perplexing Powder? I hardly know her” 💀
This is a fun deck. Alakazam EX seems to match up very well against this deck, though. With multiple EX's in play, the attack from the bench is hard to handle.
this reminds me of lantern control in mtg… i love it
Machamp should have a move called 'perplexing pecs'... just so I can hear you try and say it 🤣 😂
Oh dear, please take this to an event!!
This looks insanely fun.
this deck looks criminal, i will try it
Andrew this is the most toxic deck you have made yet and i love it
I thought Venomoth GX was pretty decent. The one that had an effect based of if you played Janine or Koga that turn
I'm in the middle of building a weezing deck. I thing the new weezing could be very annoying when partnered with the right secondary attacker.
Tested this deck out and one of its main struggles is getting Grass energy consistently. Other than that, it works as advertised.
At 31:10 there was 25,000 of us screaming “Use the Iono!!!!”
Putting damage counters on a sableye is such a sweet revenge
Finally its been 25 years
I thought this was some GLC, but this stall deck seems much more fun.
Love ya showing off fan art 👌
*adds venomoth to toedscruel to spite lost box even more*
This is amazing!!!
That 2nd opponent must of been a kid lol like why did they just keep using pokestop and get closer to decking out 😂
It may have been worth it to put the energy on mew using Gardi to KO it and then send up Zacian , put the energy from the KOed mew on it so it can attack and take out a moth. Then if confused you can retreat into the baby gardi for another KO. If not attack with Zacian again. Not sure if they have another boss or not but it would have been close at that point.
No Gardevoir can't attach if the pokemon will faint in the act of attaching.
I’ve been looking for a good item lock deck for awhile. Banette being weak to dark and a two prizer just wasn’t cutting it.
Metas heading towards shutting down the charizard ex now , burn, sleep, confusion etc plenty of it with 151 now on TCG Live.
The only thing I can see being a slight annoyance to this deck would be path but with the amount of decks that play rule box abilities chances are low and even if they do it’s really not that big of an issue just to shut off spidops ability! Amazing deck Drew you evil mastermind!!! 😈 😈 😈
this deck looks super fun. take it to worlds.
Lost zone deck struggling love to see it
Gosh, this must be the most infuriating deck to play against. Hilarious 😂
Awesome, man!!
You had me at 27 cards in hand.
Really really cool card, and the spidops does seem like the most powerful pairing. But a lot of issues with this list imo. I won't spoil it but there's a lot left to refine. I've not been this happy playing a deck since Licks Go Crazy!
Tell us what you think!
There are always going to be issues with decks, you can't cover them all
@@PeterCaptainObvious True, and this one has so many potential pairings!
@@christianperdikis8319 Sure, highlights so far for me is swap 4th boss for pal pad. Practice Studio coupled with Defiance and other +30s speeds up your damage significantly when you have a large pkmn locked. B.I.B.A.R.E.L.
Early game is easier than you think, swap the VIPs for level which fetch Venomoths 90hp :D
@@evamotto9276I agree w the level ball swap but do you think the defiance band/practice studio defeats the purpose of certain win cons? We don’t always wanna knock out mons too quickly… definitely would be nice into arc/Palkia variants
I need that music playlist though
I barely beat this deck earlier today 😮 lucky with 151 charizard 😅
Any one else thinking about switching Boss's Orders to Arven and adding TM: devolution and counter catcher when Paradox Rift comes out???
I've played about 10 games with this deck and haven't lost yet, people at my locals are going to hate me lol
The joy you receive from item locking is awesome.
Yes, it must be fun for socios/psychos to play decks that don't allow their opponents to play while you continue to play normally ...
So much fun :/
iirc there was a decent venomouth/koga deck in Sun and Moon ?
edit: decent might be an overstatement, but functional? it worked? it had a win condition?
I like troll decks but i don't have the patience for this one.
Venomoth-GX is pretty good, I get people to quit against it all the time.
SEISMITOAD IS THAT YOU????
I miss you bird keeper
So excited for spidops to be good
😂 Great video. Made the deck and it gets destroyed by Lugia V, Charazard EX and urshifu vmax. Literally zero chance.
Koga enters the chat :)
Now maybe switch one or two boss for counter catcher
Erika’s card from 151 would be good in this too
super fun deck but it just auto loses to chien-pao if they go first
I’m relatively new to the game, is this deck actually viable? I’ve been playing it in ptcgl and the concept is so fun/funny to me but I struggle to win with it!
Jet energy may be the best way to break the lock, for the like 3 decks that even play it right now. Definitely love to see spidops ex, really hasn't had a good attacker besides leafeon vmax.
They can switch Pokémon with jet energy but they still can’t use item cards. You might lose a moth or two. The goal is to keep spamming boss. The biggest challenge to this deck would be intellion and arceus. Arceus plays less items in general. Intellion can keep damaging from the bench since there’s no path and has the octillery engine going
@@fizzyadrenaline2138 The thing about this deck is that it's so rogue that nobody is really prepared for item lock. It stands a fair chance against most matchups and really messes up item-reliant decks like the video features. It has weaknesses like most decks, but it can get rolling pretty fast to get around those weaknesses. If you can lock a really crappy Pokemon in active like Bibarel you can get a ton of mileage just from DTEs too. He didn't really do it much in the videos but those would make it so you're putting 10 on and moving 20 per turn with Alakazam guaranteeing that you're not KOing the active. Ironically one deck that might be able to get out of this is Alakazam ex that snipes from the bench.
@@AmbrotosArkhon any deck that is bulky and stage 1 (not reliant on rare candies) will destroy this deck. Such as arceus like I mentioned. All arceus decks are geared for turn one arceus + energy and then turn 2 you’re hitting 180 or if you don’t find dte, powering up a Pokémon on the bench with 3 energies. Once you have 2 Pokémon’s built up that are 280 hp, yeah, the item lock is meaningless. The only saving grace is confusion and you hope for tails each time.
I love control decks and I would love to try this. But the damage output is too low to deal with 280-330 Hp pokemons that don’t use rare candy for this to become anything meaningful. But a good run of matches, it can definitely get top 32
@@fizzyadrenaline2138 how are those decks (other than intel/urshi) gonna ko you if you're trapping their support pokémon in the active?
@@ladylouchan I think that depends. My arceus deck plays 0 support Pokémon. So maybe I’m biased. But I have seen other similar decks with no support Pokémon but just distributive supports and items. Most reliant on path-Iono of course.
Could this deck be updated for Twilight Masquerade? 🤔
Looked like a lot of fun so i threw it together on ptcgl first match against arc/dura my opponent went inactive after i locked in dura under PLH with double spidops lol
This is so satisfying
Who inspired this deck?
wow that really good
"Quaking Punch for 30"
This deck is so mean and fun looking. I bet it’s a nightmare to play against.
The deck is a cool idea, but it is not without its own flaws. Biggest weakness this deck has is against metal types. Majority of metal types are resistant to grass -30, negating all damage by Perplexing Powder; it will still confuse and item lock the opponent, but the game doesn’t move because you aren’t dealing any consistent damage to their Pokémon. The second hole in this deck strategy is the reliance on the crushing hammer cards. I have had stretches of games with what I would call a 1 in 4 success rate with the coin toss to interrupt their ability to attack, so they aren’t reliable. The lack in reliability of the crushing hammer leads me to my third point, which is that the enemy can still attack. Confusion only requires a heads coin toss to allow them to deal the full damage of their attack, but only reflects 30 back to them if they roll tails. Not very penalizing to roll tails, in my opinion. Also, it is true they cannot use switch or escape ropes while item locked by Perplexing Powder, but they can still use Boss’s Orders to switch your Venomoth out which unless you have a switch to retaliate, can be very worrisome. The increased retreat cost from Spidops’ “Trap Territory” ability is also rendered useless if they opponent has a Paldean Fates Gengar in play with its’ “Night Gate” ability, allowing a free switch per turn.
How comes I can't find the spidox ex online
Maybe dumb question but in final game, why couldn’t they psychic embrace to mew to KO it so that they could then attack with something else. They were up in prizes
Because psychic embrace says specifically that you cannot ko your own Pokemon with the ability
Its Ta-roun-tula as in round tarantula
What do you do when alakazam is prized though lol, no heavy ball in the list.
Even though you're slow, your goal is to still take all 6 prizes. So you just wait until you find it naturally.
This in Meowscarada??
Exciting!
legit ties are wild at locals at the moment, we had like 4 who went 4-0 or 3-1 then legit everyone was either Tying its wild, wasnt as bad 4 years ago as GX format (or tag teams) was silly fast game play! (IMO of course)
Imagine you met banette deck💀💀💀
Shocked that it took on a lot of high tier decks and won, does anyone think this deck has viable legs or is it a meme? I have enough dust to either craft this or gard ex but dont think Id have as much fun with gard ex
You are genius
