    One of the things I appreciate most about this series (and all of your tutorials) is that I use Katoclay and I know that any technique or color recipe you cover does not have to be "translated". I am able to reproduce your results faithfully because we are using the same clay. I also like that you don't use a lot of fancy tools; just basic stuff so I can just jump right into the tutorial without having to buy some special item. I really value the time, thought, generosity, and effort you put into these tutorials.

      Thank you, Gritty! I think I’d like to do more color mixing formulas, they’re a challenge but doing they’re fun and I am seeing what colors it takes to achieve mixed those colors and how sometimes the mixes are so simple. Still learning!

    Thank you again Donna for a fabulous video, you've worked so very hard over many years, designing a brand of clay, all the accessories, book's and a fabulous style of jewellery that you well deserve never to run out of clay etc as an established artist, I feel extremely lucky to be able to watch your tutorials and thank you again 💜 💜

  • @laneoesterle-miller5853

    Watching the details of all of your projects is so inspiring. I have to say I have been side tracked by each of your Sunday tutorials (I can’t wait to discover what you are going to share ) and realized I need to finish one project before looking at another. LOL. Bugs are the next on my to do list, but 1st I need to finish reducing Mud canes! Thank you for your creativity and your expertise.

    Oh The Boss is THE BEST! Mine is MIA right now bc half of our boxes are in storage after we moved from a 3 sooty house to a 3 bedroom condo and are renovating the kitchen and master bath 😮. My hands and wrists definitely miss The Boss 😢

    You are very fortunate to never run out of clay. I doubt there are very many who can say that. I look forward to the day where I can nest enough that I don’t need to worry as much.

    What a beautiful cane. I’ve always tended to pick the bright colors but I’m loving the black, white and neutrals.

      Thank you, Kathleen , I tend to forget the neutrals myself. These canes help me remember how much they offer. I will use them more, definitely!

    Hi Donna , Love your videos. Thank you for making them. I do have difficulty with proportion. I appreciate that you give us amounts of clay in ozs. But, for me, it would be very helpful to have some measurements. For instance, the size of the brown and gold canes before cutting the size of the black cane and maybe the bullseye cane plus an overall measurement of the cane size. All this before reduction. Thank you again for producing these wonderful videos.

      Thank you Donna. You are terrific. The Mud Cloth canes a so cool. I purchased your earlier video several years ago. I don’t think I ever got around to making the fabulous necklace. Last night I found my handouts and went over them. I am going to try to make it maybe using your new canes and some I am trying to create on my own. I love your work and videos. They always get me inspired.

    I did enjoy this class. At first I saw it was an hour and prepare myself with something to drink and nibble on while watching. Once it started I never took a sip or nibbled nor did it feel like an hour.
    Awesome tutorial.
    It was also interesting how you used the iPad to create the design. I haven’t explored a drawing app yet. I’m still with the paper and pencil.
    I know if I tried working on the screen the size would be shifting all the time.

    • @DonnaKatoArt
      @DonnaKatoArt  Před rokem +1

      You’re right about the size, Denise. I started printing. Check out procreate - you can size the canvas in inches (8.5x11) and not try to figure out pixel size…❤️

    Hi Donna, I love the cookies in my packages! I wanted to say I appreciate how you are jumping the learning curve to post better videos. Not that the early ones were bad, but just how you are orienting in front of the camera, etc. and you seem more relaxed as well. I did seem to notice that the volume was a little low, but that might be just this post. I am enjoying the unfolding story of making mudcloth canes, very much. I am wondering if you have tried Tiny Pandora's acrylic tools for holding the ends of canes so there is less clay waste and more control of the size at the ends. I am jonesing for The Boss acrylic roller! Also where did you get your acrylic breyer? Thanks always for create content! Love your channel.

      Thank you! I am trying but I still wander off! I upped the resolution, too. I had some acrylic discs that I used but I just went back to the old way. I live the Boss! I am so lucky, it was a great gift. I can’t recall who makes that old brayer. I’ve had it for ages. It’s old! Glad you like the cookies, better than candy I think and who doesn’t love Oreos? Big hugs, D❤️

      @@DonnaKatoArt I had thought instead of the cat sticker, why not place a border of tape outside the frame and you'll know not to reach outside the box without knowing you are out of bounds? It might not work for closeups, but for widershots for sure. I appreciate the higher resolution! Oreos and nutter butters unite!

    Dear Donna! I love this tutorial and the series idea, it's great!. Looking forward to next episodes😀 May I ask what is (roughly) the temperature in your studio? I noticed you're wearing warm clothes and sometimes I notice my clay gets too soft which I believe may have sth to do with the temp, hence the strange question😁 Thank you, have a lovely day.

      Hi Dorota, my studio is cold, it’s in the basement. I would say it runs between 55 and 60. Sometimes the heater fan kicks in! I also have a small ceramic heater under my big, wooden, Ikea table. It’s been awfully cold this year but we will make it through!

    • @dorotaniznik5728
      @dorotaniznik5728 Před rokem

      Thank you! I just checked how much it is in Celsius and, wow!, it's much lower than my usual temperature. I fully understand the heater under the table and warm clothes...
