I only bought used helmets so far and I still live. Comes down to the helmet you buy. The ones I bought still had all the tags on so technically they weren’t used

I mean i sold mine eith my dh bike the helmet was brand new riden like 3time with never crashed not a scracth let it go for like 50$ more on top off the bike when i just bought it 150$ i think you can still buy used some time

@@Mazren_ yepp accidentaly bought a dirtbike helmet, but we only realised wen it arrived, but its lightweight and is awedome for cycling too!
@@TheRealZ9000 Not to be the safety police, but dirt bike helmets are made for heavier, higher speed impacts and won't protect your head nearly as well from the types of crashes you're more likely to have on an mtb. It's definitely better than no helmet, and I'm not your parents, but I'd advise getting a bicycle specific full face.
@@zakkane2814 ohh no man I don't mountain ride, I just have a mtb bike, but there's a bmx coarse outside my house, wich I go on.. and when I do ride I am riding extremely fast. Also there are members in my family that own motorised bikes wich I can also use.. but sill can't say your wrong when your not...

I just feel unsafe, i dont trust halfshells to protect me during a crash and would never go even trailriding (not even talking about dh or freeriding) without my trusty proframe or TLD D3

Grew up racing moto so when I recently got back into dirt jumping and riding the pump track, I understand the importance of a good full face, and went and got a TLD D4. The MIPS was the what sold me on it. Some of the looks and questions I get from people (mainly younger kids who don’t pay for their own stuff) are entertaining. “Can you do a backflip” hahahaha no definitely not and I have no desire to learn at this point in my life 😂

I saved and bought a tld full face that I absolutely do not need at all ever but it's amazing to look at and great to have when I need a super reliable helmet
Full face helmets like TLD Stage or Bell Super Air R are so light and ventilated, it doesn’t feel like wearing anything.

Yeah first helmet I got was a full face, it was cheap and from Amazon and the reason I did it was because simple helmet and also to get me used to an actual full face and what surprised me was that it didn’t break, that helmet is sturdy as hell. Man I still have it and still use it.

I test all my helmets with the Dark Vader voice or a power ranger pose but it works better in motorcycle helmets
There's lots of "Bro's" around my nearby intermediate / advanced trails with no elevation, that definitely feel they're the tough shit with their full face helmets on. "Yeah bro, send it bro, shred it!" 🙄

Love my full face helmet too. Got the 7IDP Project 23 almost feel naked without it.
Also remember to get one that is rated for downhill. You wouldn't belive how weak the mandible are is on some full face helmets. Remember its not the tumbling that will kill you its the face first, full stop in a quater inch on the tree that will.
Is an Enduro helmet with a downhill rating good enough for the bike park or would you recommend a DH specific helmet? Looking at the smith mainline because it's supposed to be good for both DH and longer rides at the trails

Too much padding how ? It is made for high speed crashes to keep your head intact, and it doesn't limit my visibility in the slightest. I guess all helmets are different though.
My e-bike is also more capable than most others. I travel at 45 mph in traffic and I don't think a bike helmet would be sufficient.
